The Official TTC Thread!

dcgator, I am so confused! No temp spike today and the CF is lotiony/creamy? Sooooo confusing! I feel like maybe I''m anovulatory this cycle! So I went out and got a First Response Ovulation Kit! I''m about to break it open to see how the thing works! LOL! I feel like a mad scientist!

LV - I''m temping with 2 therms. They do not produce the same temps sometimes. I never know which one is off! The Walgreens one measures to the hundredth decimal. The other two don''t. Wow, I keep going into multiple pharmacies and most don''t sell BBT therms! I may have to order one more online!
41.gif
Oh! I need to get that! Will order it!

snlee - CONGRATS!!!

Bella!!! Hahahahaha, my cervix is confusing me!

Po, good luck with the CBFM!

sunnyd - GOOD LUCK, GIRL!!!!

icekid - getting my GAME FACE ON! Ha!!!!

Hi, DH...did you have a nice flight? PANTS ON THE GROUND! Totally kidding!!!! Hahahaha, I should start singing that American Idol song - Pants on the Ground! Pants on the Ground... Pants on the Ground... Lookin'' like your fertile with your pants on the ground! LOLOLOL.

My only symptoms so far are tender nips, a tightness in the uterus, some tiredness, and a bit of nausea. Nothing major!

This thread is jumpin! Congrats to snee, too!
I have a feeling the next few months are gonna be very fruitful for a lot of people!
Dcgator: I''m thinking we are going to avoid BD for the next few days, or employ the pull and pray method of bc...haha!
A girl I work with is due at the end of may, she is convinced that ill be knocked up when she is giving birth.
Its so tough. I''m so excited to get pg, and baby fever is in high gear...I just can''t wait for a LO! But then I think about the things coming up over the next few months, and how the timing in just a few short months will be much better. I am also then worried if we have any issues TTC that it would be nice to start asap, so those can be figured out now! Gah!
I found out that a girl I went to school with is pg. I have to admit it made me a bit jealous to see her bump pics, I had no idea! She is my age, not married but it appears she is in a relationship, and always was that "perfect" type who I couldn''t imagine having a kid out of wedlock. I''m the last to ever judge anyone having kids and not being married, so I hope it doesn''t come off wrong. But I mean, my DH and I clearly have it together, so it makes me sad that she gets to be preggo now and I''m still here waiting...even if it is by choice!.
Ahhh, I''m just emotional.

I love how fast the thread is moving...so fill me in everyone. What are all you ladies up to for Valentines Day?

Not sure what we''re doing yet, I think we''re going to put off our V-day celebrations until next weekend as we''re taking a trip to London for a gig and DH wants to take me to a nice Michelin starred restaurant, think we''re going to go to Nobu in Park Lane. However, DH will suprise me with something so will keep you posted.

Anyone else doing anything nice?

I''m off to Phoenix tomorrow for a week, so DH and I will not be together on Valentine''s. you won''t hear from me next week. just know I''m ok and probably busy doing a lot of shopping.
2.gif

wishing all the preggos lots of stickiness, and to everyone else good luck with either O-ing or positive HPTs. make sure I have a lot of good news to come back to. and that''s an order!

Noel - Have a wonderful time in Phoenix! I was going to ask you if you are going anywhere else in AZ, maybe Sedona? Then, I remembered right about now is the Sedona Film Festival!!! And, it will take place right when you'll be there. I went one year, and it was really neat!! I know you love movies! Are you going?!?!? If I recall correctly, Sedona is about 2 hours north of Phoenix by car.

ETA: Gah, actually maybe right after you will be there. It's the 21st to the 28th.

that''s so weird. my friends are taking me to Sedona on Sunday. so then I was thinking it might for the film festival, but then read that it''s a week later. actually I have no idea what we''ll be doing there, but I am sure it will be nice.

As to your question with the CM, I am the same way. I pretty much had "fertile" CM until just a couple days before my period. I was relying more on my temp spike than anything else to tell me when I ovulated. But, I have started with the First Response Ovualtion Predictor too. I started today, CD10 (negative), and will continue for the next few days. I think it''s a good idea for you to do it too, and maybe you can pinpoint the big O date a bit better! Good luck.

Regarding BBT, I have the CVS brand. I know someone said that it wasn''t good, but I haven''t had any problems. I also saw that Target has BBT''s, so if you are looking for B&M places that have BBT''s, try there.

CONGRATS Snlee!

Bella: DC got the brunt of it, I think we are coming in with over 45 inches in the last 5 days. Insane

. I don''t think I have ever seen this much snow so quickly. They have done a pretty decent job of keeping at least some lanes clear on the road, but I don''t think the MASSIVE piles of snow on the side of the roads will melt for a really long time, like at least a month. Boo.

Sunnyd: I was thinking about you this week, so I am glad to see you pop in here. What CD would you be, like 40? When is the last time you tested, and will you test anymore before the 22nd? Keep us updated!

Oh Good! I'm sure you will enjoy it there. It is BEAUTIFUL!!! Oh, did you mean it was weird that I mentioned it since you are already planning to go there? Sorry for messing up the dates. I was so excited when I first thought of it and didn't realize the dates didn't match up! I am notorious for never knowing the date or time.

As for your plan of action, I love the "pull and pray" method, too funny!

I think my hubby and I are off the same mind. (Btw, he got a kick out of your phrase, I may have to steal it) I mean, come on, its Valentine''s weekend, we have to celebrate, right? Good luck to you two. We will have to touch base on Monday and see how it all went down, lol.

As for your feelings of getting KU vs. waiting, I am right there with you! We want to try to make it through the holidays sans a little one or me being too pregnant to travel, but I totally sympathize with the not wanting to wait in case we have problems TTC. Gah, what are we to do?

It''s kinda funny that you were talking about the girls from school too. No need to feel bad, I don''t think you are judging so much as just wanting what your friend has. I have my 10 year reunion in April, so I was trolling FB to see who was coming, and I saw a couple girls who had their kids'' pics up and one of the "popular" girls had a pic with her two adorable twin girls. I did feel a twang of jealous too
7.gif
. But, I guess the only thing you can do at this point is just to let a greater power take control (not to offend with any more religious specifics). I am of the mind that what is supposed to be will be. I know my DH and I found each other and we will have a LO in time. Whether it be now or later, I am just trying to relax a bit and have faith in that thought
2.gif
. Oh, and we fully intend to try to enjoy the whole process of BD''ing too.
12.gif

Holy moly! LOLOLOL. dcgator, when I saw the highlighted part I about fell over! I can't believe I wrote "your" instead of "you're!" OMG, I am getting old because whenever I see that used improperly I cringe and to see that I did that... man, my brain must be short circuiting! Yep, I'm officially old!!!

We are going to a very nice little French/American bistro that I found out in the country, about an hour or so from us. It''s in a nice old 18th century house, so it should have a lovely atmosphere with a few tables in different rooms. The menu is wonderful -- french dishes for him and lots of veggie options for me. We are really looking forward to it. I made the reservations at the beginning of the month. We haven''t typically gone out on Valentine''s Day (though this is only our third one together, so we don''t have much of an established history on this!!) This year, it is nice to have something special to look forward to.

What is everyone else doing? Allie, how about you?

Hi LV. I stopped nuvaring back in July, and my cycles have been pretty normal since then. I really don''t know what''s going on! I haven''t been super stressed, eating normally, sleeping. It''s a big mystery to me!

Bliss- Welcome to my confusing CF world
3.gif
Still don''t know; perhaps I am having an anovulatory cycle too! I hope not though, since this is really my least stressful month of the year.

sunnyd- Sorry for your super confusing cycle! Perhaps your body just wants a break
3.gif
3.gif
Sadly, a 50 day cycle would not be particularly abnormal for me. Back in the day when we were not trying to get preggo, most likely I would not have even noticed! I never knew when AF would show her lovely face.

Valentine''s Day- Probably nothing. Usually the hub buys me flowers and that is it. It''s not really our thing, probably in part because my husband''s birthday follows 5 days later so we have that to celebrate in Feb. This is our, what, 7th v-day together and we really have not done anything special since the first couple years.

Just wanted to say... while we''re ready for a baby, it would be nice to be NON-preggo in March. We''re going to Spain and it would be sad to be unable to partake in the sangria, wine, and other off-limits tastiness! But I''d deal if we are preggo, of course! Anyway, I am CD32 over here with still no idea if/when O may have been or will be
3.gif
Just gonna roll with it for now! Once in a while I think I might test, and then figure there is no point.

SunnyD- the same EXACT thing happened to me several months back and I think I may have even shared the info on this thread. But I was also on the NuvaRing and stopped early last year. Had totally normal cycles for about 6 months and then had 2 months of wackiness - I had no changes in my stress levels or daily routines but my cycle was all over the place. DEF had some "am i pregnant?" moments. I'm wondering if NuvaRing is the common factor here :)

Hmmm that IS curious!

So much to catch up on...

LV - THANK YOU so much for all the info on acupuncture. Your two different experiences are interesting and give me an idea of the variation from place to place, philosophy to philosophy. I think I will ask my OBGYN about any recommendations... although I think she already thinks I am impatient. Guilty as charged. How are the herbs? Have you gone again? Give us an update when you get a second.

Gongjoo - congrats on your pregnancy and thanks for your input on the acupuncture too. What is your thought on vitex supplements (pill form)? And the red raspberry leaf tea? Anything else that you have seen help regulate cycles? Thanks for any input... I realize every one''s needs and responses are different, but it''s nice to hear that some things do actually work for people!

Allie - CONGRATS! Happy to hear your early testing was rewarded :) Snlee - Congratulation to you too! Lots of dust your way. How did you guys approach BD this month? BDing pattern, pre-seed, supplements, standing on your head after sex? Anything you think made a difference?

Po - I hope you are next!

Bliss - I have the BD BBT accu-beep one and it seems to work well. The beep is kinda loud (for a silent bedroom) but you can cover it up with your finger and it''s much quieter.

SunnyD - so sorry about your long cycle. They are the worst. I am on CD42 (after a period induced by provera) and I have no signs of ovulation or on-coming AF. I went off Nuva ring at the end of August and have not had a natural period since then. I hope your peace of mind is restored soon!

CakeNY I am not sure if it''s Nuva ring or what... but I want to tell every woman I meet to get off hormonal birthcontrol NOW. I hate that we are ready to get KU and my body is still not regulated 6 months after coming off BC.

Noelrw - I am using the CBEFM. It seems like it would be a great thing for people with regular cycles who want to confirm ovulation and peak days... particularly if you are also temping or using OPKs too. Even though it''s not particularly helpful for me right now (long irregular cycles), I think it is a good investment. I got mine on Ebay with sticks for 100.

Lurkingluker - I am so sorry this process is taking awhile... Before TTC you never imagine that you''ll be the one who has a hard time. I hope your Dr. is able to give you an idea of what may be happening and a plan to address it.

HOUMedGal - congrats on ovulating and getting some proof that your body is working with you not against you... I hope that the rest of your cycle is regular and you can move forward without too much extra worry.

Split-shank - I hope you got lots of anti-endo dust your way... any update?

dcgator - I hear you about wishing your mom was closer for any preggo/baby stuff... My mother-in-law is great and relatively close... but there is something about having your mom around.

I am sure I missed a bunch of people but I hope that everyone is well and going to enjoy the Valentine''s Day weekend. DH and I live in NYC and I am not a fan of the pre-determined V-Day menus so I think we are gonna stay in and cook. Wish we could BD with purpose... but I think it will just be for fun.

I have a doctor''s appointment on CD52 so hopefully I''ll get some advice or feedback on what''s going on. For anyone who was prescribed Clomid - when was that decision made? After how many cycles? Did you ask about it or did you Dr. recommend it? Just curious.

Thanks Ryan! So far not too much as far as one way or the other. The twinges left about as soon as they came the other day but I noticed them again the two nights after that which is typical for my ol'' endo. I always would feel it as I settled in bed and was finally ''still''. It has been so long though since I''ve had the symptoms (5 years or so) I can''t remember when exactly it peaked during my cycle. I''m about a week from AF, so I won''t be going anywhere near a stick til at least then.
3.gif
But after that, watch out! Its on!!!

No news from my end yet. I am due for AF on the 14th. It could go either way. DH and I have been away so it''s been keeping my mind off of it enough to wait to test. If she doesn''t show on Sunday then I will be testing Monday when we get back home.

Bella, are you not in this 2ww? I remember you and hubby being sick and you were going to wait until the end of the month? Is that right?

Hi ladies!!!

What exciting and wonderful news for Allie, Ambulance, and Snlee! October is going to be a WONDERFUL month!!!!
9.gif
9.gif
9.gif
I just know it! And February has at least a few more preggos to go, I''m thinking. Yep, yep!!

Someone had asked about chiro and what it can do to assist with fertility. I would imagine that it can assist in many ways, but in my case in particular, I was no longer interested in taking Clomid, but was worried about having "late ovulation" (which is anything beyond CD 24, which can lead to pregnancy, but has a lesser success rate, and also causes fewer cycles a year, thus less *chances*). Anyway, the way it was described to me, the spine houses the nervous system which stems to all parts of the body (this is also the same as what I''ve researched, because admittedly, I thought it was a little hokey). When I was first evaluated and given an initial examination, my T9 (a vertebrae about mid upper back, near the bra line) was twisted a good bit. I didn''t feel it, wasn''t aware of it but the chiro said that T8-T10 house the bundle of nerves that run to the productive system, particularly the ovaries and uterus. She said that sometimes the nerves get twisted out of alignment and that can cause signals to be messed up, delayed, etc. Anyway, I thought this was kind of weird, and likely not true. I continued being adjusted (first month twice weekly, then a month of weekly, a month of every other week and I now go 1 time a month because I''m holding my adjustments well). In addtion to sleeping through the night now (a first for me!!) and having great digestion, I ovulate consistently on CD 19 or CD 20 now, and have since starting chiro. I was on Clomid one cycle while receiving chiro, but stopped in October, and I''ve continued ovulating just as I did while on Clomid (on Clomid, I ovulated on CD17). Now I''m a believer. And I *love* that I''m not on meds and that something much more natural has been effective in allowing my body to regulate.

Bliss!!! I love how you described the painting I''m working on as being symbolic of the wait for a baby... how true. Spring has sprung in the world of TTC for us, indeed! And I''m so excited for the babies to come in the fall!! Yay! Go babies, go!!

Here''s a picture of the canvases... winter is still a work in progress. It just looks so.... bare. I can''t wait to hang them in the baby''s room!!

Goodness, that''s grainy. Oh well, at least this way my flaws don''t show as well.

You get the idea, anyway....

Funny how I chose such bright base colors.... the baby''s room will be very muted in color. I suppose that he or she will appreciate having a pop of color to look at sometimes...

Fisher, your painting are GORGEOUS! I''m jealous...I''m going to need a pic once you hang them!

Fisher, those are gorgeous and will look amazing in the baby''s room!!!!!!

IHA-I''m not in this 2ww. AF is due Monday or Tuesday

HOLY CRAPPOLA!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE A LOT OF CATCHING UP TO DO!

WOWZAS!!!!

Congrats to the first gold medal winners so far this month! Woo-hoo! Allieluv, Snlee, and Ambulance! That is so awesome!

Well I am swamped with work and school, so I haven''t had much PS time and I''m gearing up for my trip so I don''t know how often I''ll be able to check in, but:

Re: Valentines day- DH is on a ski trip so I''m alone this weekend.
7.gif
It''s okay though because I''m not fertile and I have TONS of school work to do this weekend.

Re: BBT''s I have the purple generic one from Target and I love it. I also have the CVS BBT which I think is as accurate as the Target.

SunnyD: You know it is perfectly normal for a woman to have a long cycle or even an anovulatory cycle once in a while, so I wouldn''t be too concerned if that is what is going on.

Fisher- Love those paintings!!!!!!!!
1.gif
1.gif
1.gif
I have always had a thing for seasons, and think that would look awesome in your baby''s room!

Hey ladies! Wow, I missed so much!

So many to send dust to!!!!! And hugs!
Fisher, that painting is SO pretty!!! You are a true artist!

So I bought the First Response Ovulation Kit because my crazy CF and flat temps were confusing me.

And now I'm even more confused! It says you can test anytime... other OPKs will or won't tell you to use first morning urine. Well, the day I bought it - I tested at 6pm. Negative. Then the next day, with FMU - positive! Then that afternoon, negative. That night, almost positive... The next morning, positive with FMU again! I did some research and found that you're supposed to limit fluids and wait about 2 hours at the very least. I didn't do that and had very dilute pee because I drink a ton of water all the time. Now I know! But does that discount the fmu positives? No temp spike yet, but I did have a dip this morning. Could be random or could be a sign before ovulation. Whew! To say I'm confused would be an understatement! And because this is all after a mc, the CF has been wonky!!!

Hmmmm, other tests say don't use FMU because it's concentrated and could produce a false positive. First Response OPK says you can take it anytime. Hmmmmm! I wish I had started these OPKs earlier in my cycle so I could know if the positives are a common thing with my fmu or not.

Also, the more I read - the LH surge can be very quick so if you don't test throughout the day, you could miss it! Some women say they noticed it at random times so I'm wondering how often I should test.

Very confused!
34.gif
Ahhhh, TTC is such a fun saga!
31.gif

Hello ladies!!

Just dropping in to say hello....and to also say "false alarm" on me ovulating. Apparently my temps were just up on those days because of my crazy night-shift schedule and sleep deprivation, because now that I''m adjusted back to a normal schedule, my temps are back down in the pre-O range. So now I''m at CD22 and still no O. The latest I ever O''ed before was CD 17...miscarriages really make everything wonky!!

Fisher, I love your paintings!! Beautiful!! :)

Allrighty ladies, let''s see some more February BFP''s!!! Go for the GOLD!!
