Right back atcha!

Thanks, Bella!

Dust to us all!

Ugh well I''ve tried posting a few times in the past few days but it hasn''t been working.

So I just want to say Hi to Lanie and thanks for asking about our nephew. Well his father called my husband the other day and mentioned that K will be going back to live with his mother in the summer. So it is official that he has chosen his fiance over his son.
38.gif
29.gif
If his mother wants him then there probably won''t be much we can do, but the thing is that she hasn''t shown any interest in getting her son back. DH called his parents and they spoke for hours about the situation and his mother kept saying "over my dead body." So right now everyone in the family is offering to take K so we''ll see what happens. DH is so disgusted with his brother and I am really glad that he is nothing like this horrible excuse for a human, let alone father! Apparently the brother said "at least school will be easier for him at his mother''s" refering to the inner-city school that K will have to go to. DH kept saying "what kind of a parent wants their child to go to a not-so-great school because it will be easier?" Through all of this I am just so reassured that my husband is going to be an amazing father! So we are just trying to get the word out that we would love to have him and see what happens. I might try and contact K''s mother just to talk, something is fishy about the fact that she is not begging to have him back. I suspect it is because she knows it''s not a good situation for him.

As for TTC, well we aren''t going to hold off but I think we''re going to casually try for a few months. I''ll know when it''s time to BD but we probably won''t have a marathon or anything. Also, next week we go to Japan and if I ovulate then it would be really cool to conceive on our trip! Of course DH has a ski trip this weekend so if I ovulate around valentines day then we''ll be out!

This is my first month using CBFM and had highs on CD10-13 and had my first peak yesterday on CD14 and again on CD15 which is today. I''m both thrilled and suprised a) for working and b) ov''ing this early.

For the last 18 months I''ve been charting my cycle on mymonthlycycles.com and according to the dates it guestimates my ov dates to be at least 5-7 days later therefore we have been bd''ing at the wrong times and essentially when I''m done ov''ing. No wonder I haven''t fallen pg - only really been trying the last year on and off.

Anyhoo, I understand that this is the first month and the machine is getting to know me and I''ll need to see how it goes next month and so on, but comparing the CBFM dates to my physical symptoms, it makes sense now.

Soooo, now in the 2WW, AF due the 24/25th.

Will keep you posted.

Where are all the TTC peeps at today?

For those of you in the midst of the blizzard, hope you're all staying warm and dry. I have to head out now for an appointment I wasn't able to cancel.
14.gif
DH was wondering this morning how many blizzard babies will be conceived this week. What with Valentines and the weather, I hope some of us will get lucky (even though we're not officially trying yet
27.gif
).

This thread is such a good resource; thank you all so much for sharing the information you have. The accupuncture info is really interesting.

Allie and anyone else still in the tww - good luck!!

I am officially on day 3 so there was no bfp for me. But on the plus side I went back to my obgyn this morning who is doing some blood work and depending on the results, we will likely try clomid later in the spring to address the luteal phase issue. We haven''t been officially "trying" for very long, but we''ve actually timed our BDing fairly well since last July and this is my 8th cycle with no birth control and no baby. I think the current plan is to give it a few more months and get more aggressive in May if there is still no bfp. My DH and I are going to Italy in mid-April. Maybe that will do the trick.
1.gif

lurker, I''m sorry that it has been a while, but it sounds like your Dr is great, and Italy just might do the trick
2.gif

CD-I''m at work watching all the snow wishing I was walking in Central Park...I''m hoping to head out early. DH''s work got cancelled today, lucky guy!!!

I''m waiting for AF to show up so we can start our new cycle next week.

Baby dust to all, and I really do think that a few more BFPs will pop up on here soon:-)

Hey ladies! We''re out! EWCM today and DH is out of town. Booooooooo!
34.gif
Well, at least I have my second husband...My Kindle!
31.gif
This is just making me realize what a miracle it is to conceive at all!

GO FOR THE GOLD, LADIES!!!
36.gif
Swim, Phelpsies!!! Swim!!!

mia- A vacay conceived bebe sounds like lots of fun.
31.gif

Po- Hope your TWW flies by
36.gif
How do you like the CBFM? If we don''t get knocked up relatively quickly, that may be my next step.

Bliss- I am not temping due to my crazy work schedule and inability to give up what little sleep I do get. Residents don''t sleep much in general and I am not a good sleeper, so if I wake at 5 AM to temp on my off days I would never fall back to sleep. Plus adding in call days a couple nights per week when I would not be able to temp at all. It just sounds like an exercise in frustration. If defining O becomes more of an issue, potentially the clear blue easy monitor might be a good idea for me?? Enjoy your Kindle! A little quiet time can be so rejuvenating, even if it means having to ignore your CM for a couple days
2.gif

CDN- I bet you can convince hubby.....
9.gif

lurker- Sorry to hear about the arrival of AF! Another vacation baby sounds like a good plan. Have you been to Italy before? Hubby and I adore it... lucky girl!

Bella- I''ll be cheering on the arrival of your AF THIS time, but tell her after this she has to get lost!

I am still here...I won''t lie...I broke down and tested this morning with some internet cheapies and a FRER. I didn''t see the results come up immediately so I dumped the sticks and went back to sleep. I woke up and went Dumpster Diving (bad news I know). Both looked very faintly positive to me but then again it could just be evaporation lines. I am waiting to test again tomorrow. Only have digis and cheapies left. I have been stuck inside with all the snow for ages it seems.

How is everyone?

I''m at work, but headed home soon. Very exciting possibility there allie, let us know what happens tomorrow:-)

Allie- Fingers crossed!! This is all so much more anxiety-producing than I ever thought it would be. Today I am at peace though

Po: I wish you lots of sticky dust and hope your 2WW goes by quickly!

*****
CDNinNYC: I hear you on the blizzard babies. There is really not much else to do here. A bunch of us are on the Valentine weekend peak period, so we shall see in a few weeks...
9.gif

*****
Lurking: I am sorry that you didn''t get KU this time, but I am glad to hear that your OBGYN is taking into account your issues. Hopefully though you can get KU on vacation, and won''t have to worry about all that other stuff!
2.gif

****
Bliss: are you sure you are out? I know we both have wonky and/or contradictory fertility signs. Have you already had your spike yet? If you are just having EWCM and not the temp spike, you might not be out yet. I hope you still have a couple good days left!

****
Alli: Hang in there honey, hopefully this will be the lucky cycle.
2.gif

****
As for me, I am stuck in "Snowmageden." I thought the 2 feet over the weekend was bad, but then we got another foot and had 40+ mph winds. It''s crazy, I have never seen so much snow here!
6.gif
While everything is pretty much closed down and I have only been to work once this week, it kinda sucks b/c I couldn''t celebrate my b-day properly yesterday. The only thing open yesterday was Domino''s. Oh well, my hubby and I are hoping to go out this weekend for a combo b-day and Valentine''s Day dinner. Coincidently, my prime time is coming up in the next two days, so we shall see what happens there...
12.gif

mia - So sorry to hear about your nephew...
15.gif
I hope everything works out. Hope you and your DH have an awesome time in Japan!!! How cool would it be to create a little samurai on the trip? Planning this is tricky, isn''t it? We''re out bc today I have EWCM and DH isn''t back in town until tomorrow night super late. We were joking that I should hop on a plane to meet him except there''s a snowstorm. Oh well!

Po - Oh, how exciting! How is the CBFM? I''ve heard such great things about it and am so curious! Kind of wish I had gotten one this month since it seems so confusing this cycle! Good luck on the 2WW! I hope you are a jerk store!

CDinNYC, we''re buried under snow! Wow, the blizzard is no joke! Here''s to hoping there will be many Valentine''s Day and Blizzard Babies!

lurkinglurker - Hello! Sorry about the bfn. I hope you get KTFU soon and maybe Clomid will do the trick! How amazing would a little Italy trip baby be?

Bella! Hope AF comes soon and then leaves for 9 months! Stay warm today, friend!

icekid - ahhh, then of course it makes sense not to temp. Maybe the CBFB could be a great alternative to temping! Thanks for the kind words. I''ll curl up with the Kindle tonight! It''s too bad we can''t ovulate when we want to! That would be too easy!

Allie - still might be too early! You know, I have never had evap lines on the FRER! So I wonder....? Maybe you had a faint positive and it got darker after you threw it away? Try a cheapie! I can''t wait to hear what the results are tomorrow!

dcgator - I know! I know! Wonky cycle this month! I''m fairly certain I''m ovulating today - have been checking my cervix as well and it''s definitely getting softer and more open. TMI, right? LOL I found the most interesting site that is definitely not for the squeamish but was SO interesting. It''s called My Beautiful Cervix and was created by a doula to show women the changes throughout their cycles. Very very interesting! So I think I''m ovulating now with the EWCM and expecting a spike tomorrow. I''ll let you know what tomorrow brings! DH gets back late tomorrow night so I think the egg wouldn''t still be alive by then! Our window will have closed! Oh well! I hope, like you said, we have a few days left! From your keyboard to God''s e-mail! LOL. Used to be "from your lips to God''s ear!" But I guess we have to change with the times, eh?

Ohhhh, I hope you have a Valentine''s baby!!!!!! Stay warm!!!!!

Major dust to you all, ladies!!!!

Po: Lots of sticky dust to you!

Lurking: Love the idea of a vacay baby. Hopefully it''ll happen then.

Bliss: I wouldn''t count you out yet. Your DH is back Thursday, right? I think there''s still time. By the way, I meant to tell you I love the name Colette. My first Cabbage Patch doll was names Colette Mae and I have had a soft spot for it since.
5.gif
I have a crazy long list of favourite names for girls. If we have one, it''ll be interesting to see how we narrow it down.

Alli: This one might be it! Sending you positive thoughts!

DCgator: Happy belated birthday! There''s nothing like being snow-bound and having events like birthday sand Valentine''s to put people in the mood to ''celebrate''.
27.gif

Bella: hope you got home safe. It was pretty sloshy as I made my way home.

*****************
Question for those ladies currently living in single bedroom apartments/condos. What are your thoughts on staying in that one-bedroom for a few months after birth or are you planning on moving to a bigger space prior? Our lease isn''t up until August but it''s something I''m starting to think about. I''d prefer to stay where we are but I''m wondering if I''m kidding myself that we can make it work.

CDinNYC, thanks! We''ll see... if DH isn''t too tired.
31.gif
I love the name Colette! It reminds me of Cosette in Les Miserables. Hahaha, I had many Cabbage Patch kids! Isn''t it funny how they were grown in cabbages? If only it were so easy! Actually, I''m no farmer so it''s probably easier for me to BD than to grow a baby from a cabbage... But even so! I would sooooooo love to have a girl, too! I could go on and on with girl names! For boy names, I like traditional ones like Michael. I think Jett is kind of a cool name for a boy.

And the digital says BFP!!!!! Yay! 10DPO you guys!

I had 4 Cabbage Patch Dolls and my brother had 3. We drove my mother crazy with these dolls!
9.gif
I like both boy names you mentioned. You could always go with Michael Jett or Jett Michael depending on your last name.

The Olympic Games open this Friday. To use hockey terminology, let''s see who scores this weekend and let''s hope no one is shutout!

CDinNYC - I had lots of Cabbage Patch kids, too! And let''s not forget Adoption Dolls! Those ridiculous $200 pillow thingies that Xavier Roberts created to gouge parents! Hahahaha! My poor parents! I didn''t like the Cabbage Patch kids as much because of their hard plastic heads. I''d wake up with one embedded in my back! Ouch!

I just now saw your post about the 1-bdrm. I don''t think staying in a pretty large 1-bdrm would be any problem with a newborn. We''re talking a few months, right? The newborn would probably be in your bedroom? Aww, how cute would that be?

Allie, congrats again! Tell us all about it!!!!

Congrats! I am so excited for you!

Bliss-You crack me up "to god''s email" ha-ha-ha and I saw My Beautiful Cervix last week by accident. Almost puked, looked again, almost puked again, then checked it that afternoon and was able to glean some info, but wow that is a crazy project. Esp. b/c it says all photos were taken with a regular digital camera, a speculum, and a boyfriend with a headlamp! I guess PSers would probably excel with their amazing mastery of macro mode of digi camers
3.gif
but that is some freaky-deaky or super dedicated boyfriend!

Ice-I''m sorry this is stressful and hope you have more zen days ahead!

CD-I got home ok but it was super sloshy and I stepped in a giant slushy puddle, thank goodness for my awesome waterproof boots.

We have a 2 br now, but I think it''s fine to live in a 1 br until a baby is about 1, once they start walking I think a 2 br is better. Although, when we were apt. hunting our realtor told us an upper middle class family of four was living in a studio in one building (they were her clients) b/c they loved their studio and didn''t want to give it up.
40.gif

I have two friends who have kids in a studio, and another friend with 2 kids in a 1 br, so it can definitely be done
2.gif

My cabbage patch doll was Franny Frances I HATED her name. tried to rename her Mary Elizabeth um yeah, when you are 8 and have been calling your doll Franny Frnaces for a year a name change is pretty much impossible
20.gif
but really, Franny Frances, is that the best Xavier Roberts could do?

Yay, Allie!!! how exciting! yippee!

Thanks everyone! It is surreal. I can''t believe that it actually happened! I feel like I am going to wake up any minute now. I am praying for a sticky little bean, since it is still so early. Only 10DPO and 4 days until my AF is due. So I am being cautiously optimistic but can''t help but to be thrilled!

Gaaaah! Allie! So excited for you. That was quick...you guys weren''t really trying long, no? Major sticky bean dush coming your way from me...I''ve got some super glue in the mail for you ;)

As for me, well, EWCM showed up today! I''ve not been great with the temping, but this is such an exciting sign that my body remembers what to do after being on the pill so long! Its also crazy to think if we BD now, there''s a chance id be KU! Ahhh! Today is CD11...I''m like clockwork right now! Is it insane that I''m like, proud of my ovaries? I feel like they are not really part of "me" and have a mind of their own since I can''t really control when I ovulate or whatever. I''m wacko. Ignore.

Congrats Allie!
