The Official TTC Thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Today I bought 100 pregnancy tests (for the future and for the "now" to help me determine if my HCG levels are dropping) and 50 OPK's.

This is my way of saying, "It's on Mother Nature!"

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Parrot Tulip--
*hugs* I admit I was a little disappointed when I saw the percentage of success for a medicated IUI.
Thought that it would be higher. Like DC said, it seems more ladies have better luck w/ the second or third.
How many rounds is your Dr going to do?

DC--
:(( Sorry that AF showed.
No good news here on my end either.
I was going to wait it out until AF or lack of AF to test, but I did cave this morning and POAS.
I know it is still early at 11 DPI, but I'm already prepping myself to expect her ugly face Monday.

KTF--
Sorry again about your loss, but glad to see you back on here ::)
Hope your dr gives you the go-ahead ASAP.
Mine suggested that we waited at least one cycle before TTCing again.

Steal--
:wavey: Your posts always remind me of Bliss.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lili - my doc was a little weird about the "when to try" concept and my brain was under just a wee bit of stress during the conversations; both the one had immediately after I found out about the loss and the one post surgery. What I remember, and DH has confirmed for me, is that she said unless they find a medical reason for us NOT to try (i.e. significant genetic mutation that is likely to repeat) we can begin trying again immediately. She stated the "wait a month" advice is two fold: a) to allow the HCG levels to drop below 5 in order for ovulation to be triggered by the body and b) to help with dating the new pregnancy.

I figured by the time I get my tests in the mail I will have had my appointment and will be waiting for signs of things returning to normal. Plus, I feel silly saying this, but having these items in my house makes me feel like we're letting the Universe know we are very open to another pregnancy.

Happy news! BFP!

:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

I took a Pricescope hiatus and I’m here to report…..

I can’t believe it, but were pregnant again! After a week of utter exhaustion, which I thought was attributed to my job and not getting a period, I even made an appointment with a fertility specialist in September. Today on my way home the race track ( I had a meeting with some vendors) I stopped Rite Aid and picked up some pregnancy tests. Seeing that my only symptom is this exhaustion and some suprapubic stretching the last thing I thought was I pregnant (kinda silly in hindsight). I did my business in a cup, dipped the stick and waited 3 minutes. I nonchalantly went back and checked and I saw two blaring blue lines. In total disbelief I took the test again-same result. Thinking there had to be something wrong with the entire box of tests I went out and box a digi….and the third verdict is that I am pregnant…

When my husband returned home from the gym I pulled the digi out of my bag and gave it to him to look at. His face became flushed and he said really? Yeah babe, really.....

I’m so excited and nervous. After our M/C in December we’ve wanted this so bad and now that it’s here again, it feels amazing.

Thanks for letting me share my news.

Luvinlife--
:appl: :appl: I'm so happy for you and your husband.
Lots of sticky dust to your little one.
Hope you have a smooth 9 month.

KTF--
Fingers crossed for good news.
I hope your stay here will be short.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

KTF - what can I say hon but so sorry to hear your news. You're being really strong and positive and your resolve is amazing. I'll echo Lili's sentiment and hope you're stay is short and sweet but we can all support one another in our journey together.

Luvinlife - YAY!!!

luvinlife: Yeah!!!!! :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks Tao and Po!

Good morning :wavey:

In true luvinlife fashion the excitement is here but also the worry. I guess if this had been out first pregnancy I would be a bit more naive (not that I am not excited, perhaps I should have said apprehensious). Compared to my last preganancy which was with twins I felt awful, my breast were like rocks and the ate in the bathroom, because I knew everything was coming back up in 10 minutes. This time, I feel tired, an having some abdominal twitches, and olfactory sense is increased. No breast tenderness and overall, I feel super. Perhaps I should be counting my lucky stars, but that there is something reassuring about the onslaught of early pregnancy symptoms.

My next concern is pregnancy dating. Since my previous M/C I stopped keeping careful track of the dates, but overall my periods have been irregular. The last time I remember having my period was on July 4th as my husband I were in Boston. Around late July 20 something I took a pregnancy test which was negative. Yesterday, July 13 I got my BFP but have been feeling very tired since Monday, August 9th.

On monday I will my doctor to request quants drawn, but until then...any thoughts, stories, advice?

Thank you!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congrats LL! :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

congrats LL :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

On my end, despite DH's proclaimation, our timing kind of sucked this past week:-( So, I'm not really thinking about the 2ww and just looking forward to starting a new cycle in a few weeks.. ;(

I'll probably be MIA for a few weeks as I start an intensive class Tuesday and work/school/semblance of a personal life does not leave much time for PSing ;( But I'll be back after that and hope to see lots of BFPs!

Fisher :wavey: Hope all is well on your end!

DC-Hope you have some good news soon!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congratulations, LL!!!!! That is just fantastic!!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Dear Lauren,

Thanks for the sweet comment. We are guardedly excited as we know all too well what it is like to to feel incredible excitement and sadness a short time later. Know I am praying for you and your husband during your difficult time.

My best,
LL

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lauren,
I am so very sorry for your loss. BUT have great hope things will go well for you going forward. Sounds like you have a great Doc that caught it, and saved your ovary.. My best wishes to you during this difficult time.. HUGS!!!

LL

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

KTF I am so sorry for you loss - I am not as eloquent as some of the other ladies here but my thoughts are with you and your DH

LL: Congrats - here is to a happy and healthy 9mths for you :)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Bella: It only takes one! I wish you dust. Also, I hope you enjoy your class this week.

Luvin: Good luck with your Dr. today. I’m glad you aren’t feeling poorly and wholeheartedly wish you the stickiest of sticky dust. Congratulations!

Lili: (about Bliss)I take that as a wonderful compliment, thank you! I hope AF has not arrived and that this is your cycle too.

Dcgator: Hi honey! CD7’ish? You are getting close! Good luck this cycle.

Cupcake: Hope you kicked that UTI into touch! So we are 2WW’ing….. Not much to say about that, is there! See you on the other side hopefully with BFP’s!

KTF: Bring it on! You have a wonderful outlook. I am very sorry for your heartache and very happy you have decided to jump back in; have your sticks arrived?

Betty, ModernS, PT, Ryan Claire, Po (sorry if I forgot anybody): How are you ladies doing?
_____________________________

Dcgator: How do you do it? I tried to do a list of Cycle days and lost the will to live?

I'd love to know where we all are. Please reply with your Cycle day and we can keep track for this month.

I'm CD20 and 2WW'ing.

Nothing to report except I have classic (quick google that...furiously typing in 'early pregnancy symptoms') 2WW-itis. That and I have found a pram I love. Bella: Save me!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Good morning ladies--how is everyone today?

LTP and KTF--good luck to you ladies as you continue on this TTC journey. Hopefully you get your BFPs soon!

Steal--2ww buddy! I don't think I'm going to make it without POAS before DH gets back from Vegas...I just keep thinking, "well, if I take it without him then I can surprise him with a cute daddy-to-be gift." Somehow the logic makes sense, damn this addiction!

Bella- good luck with your studies!

And for all the other ladies, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Any thing new?

__________________________________________________________

As for me, today is CD30, DPO 5 (you count from the day after you ovulate right? sorry, I'm still a newbie). Nothing going on here just trying to fight the urge to pee on stuff--trying to dial down the crazy but it's hard

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congrats to all the newly knocked up mamas!!! :appl:

Just popp'n in to post an interesting article I saw in the Post today. A UK study finds that the average couple BDs 104 times before getting pregnant.

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/intern...e_has_sex_times_before_0uwJfVbqpMQi6GL7azyq7H

Obviously, for some it will happen sooner and for some later, but an interesting study nonetheless!

Best of luck and baby dust to all!!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Howdy Doody folks

Well af arrived yesterday with her suitcase ;(

I'm now on cd2 going onto my 7th month using the CBFM. I've decided not to count the time trying before the CBFM cos it'll just depress me even more. I need to get my mojo back again as I feel the doubt creeping it's way back into my mind. I have to be positive, I will be positive as I have 6 weeks until I'm in Paris.

Found out that when I'm there it will also be Paris Fashion week but sadly I'll not be able to get to any catwalk shows as its invite only which is a shame. Wonder if I'll see anyone famous tho. So excited thinking about Paris in Autumn..........or should I say Fall.

I have a friend who got knocked up her first time ever having sex...! Can you imagine? I sure can't. Id probably never do it again! She was a teenager, had a baby at 16.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hello ladies,

Happy Monday to you all. I hope you enjoyed your weekends and your Monday is now flying by :wink2:

Cupcake - Ahh, the first 2WW, crazy eh? And 5 DPO might be a bit early to tell. There are some girls who are lucky enough to see a BFP on CD8 or CD9, but most ladies won't see anything till CD 11 or CD12. But then again, I usually start POAS around CD8 or 9 hoping to be a lucky one. Either way, only a couple more days to go, so hang in there! Hopefully you will have something great to show your DH when he comes back

KTF - You have got the right attitude lady, I love your ability to jump back on the horse (or DH for that matter, :naughty: ) I hope your doc gives you the green light to use all those OPK's and HPT's.

Lili - How's it going my dear? Any luck on your end? I hope that you got some great news, but if not, at least you know you have 2 more rounds to try. Fingers crossed for you hun!

LuvinLife - CONGRATS on your BFP. I am sorry to hear about your earlier loss, but it sounds like you were given another gift. Lots and lots of sticky dust for you! On the date thing, I wish I could suggest something, but seeing as how your periods are at odd times and it's been a while since you had one, I couldn't begin to guess. I'm sure the doc can shine some light on it though.

Bella - Thanks for the shout out. I feel like its about time for both of us to have really great news. I will keep my fingers, toes, etc crossed for you too, b/c like they say, it only does take one time. Do come back and let us know how it went in the next 2W. Till then, good luck with class and take care!

Steal - Hello my dear, yes, I am CD7, good keeping track :read: I actually think I will have a short follicular phase this month, since usually after a longer O date (CD16 last month), I will have a sooner O date (typically CD11 or 12). Interestingly enough, I already have watery CM, so maybe it will be even sooner. Who knows though. I will just keep an eye on it...As for the cycle lists, I use Fertility Friend and it has functions where you can print out all your old charts and a list of all your previous cycle stats. Its actually pretty ingenious that FF. Do you use FF or any program like that. If not, I highly recommend it. What about you, how many DPO are you. Ohhh, I am really excited for you this cycle. I just have a good feeling. Prove me right in a couple days, ok

Po - Sorry that the evil AF came to you again. But, I think she is just relishing her time since she knows you are going to get KU soon, and then you won't need her :sun: Like you said, Paris is only a few weeks away...Good luck this cycle!

****
AFM, I am rolling along at CD7 and have high hopes for this cycle. I am leaning toward an early O this cycle (CD11 or 12) and my CM is already trending that direction, so that's good. I am going to start my BD'ing tomorrow night, just to be safe, and try to hit EOD till confirmed O. Either way, I am going to see my doc next week, so that will be nice to be able to voice my concerns and also to get her opinion on taking some progesterone supplments and see if that does the trick. So, here's to a hopefully successful cycle!

Good luck to everyone just starting new cycles or already in the thick of the 2WW!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks for the welcome Bella!
Cupcake muffin I hope you are feeling better, UTI's are very uncomfortable... :((
DC gator I hope this month is a good month! a positive attitude goes a long way for sure!
KTF, I too buy pregnancy tests in by the dozen! I just have to know as soon as possible ;)) of course there are many "wasted" tests, but when waiting for a baby, every day lasts for ever! I am sorry for you loss. I hope there will be good news for you very very soon!
Luvin life! I am so happy for you! Congratulations and I hope you have an smooth and happy pregnancy! I am sure you are just estatic!
Po10472, I am sorry about af's visit, I hope you have a great time in paris though! Keep trying and being positive... I hope you get a positive test next cycle!

Today I go to the dr's. I am on 2 class d medications and am going to see if I can be put on ones that will be safe for a pregnancy. I will also be getting blood work to check the kidneys to make sure they are up to the task...

I am trying not to get my hopes up too much, but I am really hoping!! :loopy:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Steal, Bella, and Cupcake--
good luck ladies on your 2WW.
We need some BFPs for August.
Think luvinlife would w/ July.

DC--
Funny you should mention about O normalizing.
That seems to be the case for me too.
Following the 2 cycles that were long (29 days), I get a really short cycle of 24 days.
Seems to normalize to 26 days.
Anyway, thanks for asking about me.
Unfortunately, AF knocked on my door sunday morning.
The good news is that I'll be in good company for next month.

Marquise--
Good luck w/ the dr's appt.

Luvinlife--
How was the appt today?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks Lili! Well the dr got me some new meds and fingers crossed they will work well!

this week is ovulation... soooo with any luck in 2 -3 weeks I will have insane luck and will have good news... I know that is getting hopes REALLY high, but hey, stranger things can happen.

fingers and toes crossed..... :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

First off, congrats LL on your news. Fingers crossed for you to have a happy healthy pregnancy!

Cupcake: good luck with your 2WW.

Blushing B: what an article. .. I don't think we plan to keep track of the ahem "times" before we get pregnant! I also found it strange that 10% of folks tell their parents before their partner... I think DH would be quite bummed about that!

PO: good luck this month. Hopefully this will be THE ONE! Sounds like you have an amazing trip to look forward to as well.

DC: my almost cycle twin, hope you get what you want from your doc

Steal: I admire your patients for not breaking out the pee sticks yet!

As for me, I also came down with a raging UTI yesterday... might have something to do with the freedom being off BC and the excitment of the BD. I am only on CD8 so its too early for anything, just hoping the antbiotics kick in soon. My temps seem like they are all over the place, but I have been not great about checking first thing in the AM either.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

modernsparkler, lili, marquiseluv, dcgator,po,blushing, steal, deelight, kaleigh,LTP, bella, cupcake*muffin (sorry if I missed anyone)..

After chatting with my husband I decided not to get anything done today. We have insurance (private) which we pay for ourselves. On the first we will be starting health insurance funded by the company I work for and enrolling in workman's compensation which will cover part of my salary when on maternity leave(God willing). Therefore prior to going to the OB or submitting any type of traceable insurance claim I want to speak with the benefits person in our organization to see how having a "pre-existing condition" will interfere with my ability to obtain workmans comp. Sounds kinda silly, right? Damn, corporate America....

My total craziness has me taking a couple urine HCG's a day (which still have the double lines thank GOD). I know this test proves nothing more than their being HCG in my urine, but at this point in time, it's giving me peace of mind.

Today I did make an OB appointment for Sept 1 @1:30p......(and ordered a pack of 50 urine preganancy test, just in case I run out by then).

Thanks for asking and being my sounding board....Im really grateful.

LL.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LL , I am glad you are still getting the double lines! I am glad you will be on corporate insurance soon, and I hope you are able to get some rest!

Good luck on the 1st, I am sure it will be all good news. :))

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LL- glad you are still getting the double lines, I would be POAS too to make sure  You only have a few more weeks until you see the doctor. I didn't know that you were having insurance issues, I hope everything works out.

Betty--good luck on the 5th! You must be a saint.

Modern--sorry you've got an UTI now :(( Too bad BDing can lead to these things. I actually do go to the restroom every time after BDing but it never seems to stop one from happening. Hopefully the meds kick in and you get some relief soon.

Steal--how's my fellow 2WW and POAS-aholic doing? Hanging in there?

Nothing new for me, just DPO 6, resisting the urge to urinate in a cup. Oh but I have been having crazy baby dreams. Made me get up this morning and research infant seats...ugh, like I said, you can't fix crazy. I feel really tired and moody--either AF is getting ready to take me down in flames or....well...fingers crossed.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Oh Cupcake muffin! I so hope that you get some good news soon!

I just ordered 50 pregnancy tests, because with each pregnancy I know that I use a ton of them, I have no patience and at 7 dpo I just have to check

the earliest i have had one come back positive is 8 dpo! FIngers and toes crossed for you!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Just curious about if you have shared with friends you are TTC. I had coffee with one of my good girl friends today and it somehow came up that we are both TTC!!! I thought they might be, but knowing another couple in our circle of friends that is going through the same thing is very exciting! Especially given that we are all late 20's/early 30's and are actually will be the first to have kids (hopefully)!

We have also shared with my parents, and I have told my best friend from med school since I would talk to her if anything went wrong. Otherwise we are not planning on sharing with too many others.

As for me, CD 9 and neg on the cheapie ovulation predictor stick yesterday and this morning. I am a huge planner, so I am starting to realize the whole relaxed approach to this isn't goint to happen :) oh well!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I have told my mother, and 3 close friends whom I trust. Other than those 3 I have not told anyone. People don't want to know or hear about it I have found, and the general consensus here is to keep mum on it until you are at least 3 months and showing.

Plus anyone I would tell would be asking and wondering "how long it would take" and I dont need the pressure. I am in my early 30's so I know it may take a while and I am ok with that.
