The Official TTC Thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Good luck Coda! Have fun BDancing! :0)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks, Ello!
I took another OPK today and it's back to a faint line again. So I had the surge on Tuesday night which means ovulation possibly occurred yesterday. DH and I didn't BD successfully yesterday or today but we BD Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. From what I've read BD the three days prior to O is a good chance of conceiving. So, I'm still pretty hopeful even though we didn't BD the day of O. Not that we didn't try, but the poor man is feeling chafed. I better get some good lube next month if I get a BFN this time around!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Well ladies, CD27, it appears my schedule is completely out of whack since I O'd a week later than usual. AF was suppose to start today (9 DPO) and so far NO AF and negative pregnancy tests. I read online that your body could adjust if you O later so now I'm in limbo! Freaking out!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Coda-It's really difficult to be sexy when you have to BD a few times during O time. I just hate the urgency of the process and it's terrible for the hubby. Lately we drink fun & cheap summer wine as a fun mood setter. If anyone has any other suggestions, please feel free to share. Anything to help the boys get happy! Snork-snork!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Well ladies, that's it for the depressing cycle. AF is finally here (CD1). I was two days late. So cruel!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hello ladies, I'm sticking one toe in here and one toe in the WbW thread since I'm off all birth control but DH says he's not ready for a 2nd yet. So I think I'm kinda between the two.

Ello, sorry to hear about AF showing. As far as mood setters, love the suggestion of some wine to set the mood. Maybe some sexy :naughty: music during dinner too. And if your DH is up for it, some naughty text messages during the day?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Sorry AF reared her ugly head, ello :(sad

Bit of the opposite problem In our house, really- I'm the one who needs more :naughty: mood setters than he does; I swear, I could sneeze and he'd be ready to go! But I really enjoy a nice hot shower with the hubs to get me in the mood; it seems to me to be a time apart from the day, just us, can't answer the phone or check email and its toasty and relaxing in there. That's my favorite trick anyway!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Warning, TMI: So this is the first time that I've felt OBVIOUS libido changes during/around ovulation. Last night I totally felt like I *needed* to have sex. It was just so weird for me since. Normally I'm the initiator because heck I like it, but it was like "Whoa, I need to get some, right freaking now." Fortunately DH was happy and energetic enough to comply.

And I suppose I'll put myself int he official TTC camp since we're off BC and we're not doing the pull n pray or trying to avoid. Not sure if I actaully O'd yet, but I'm totally going to milk any BDing I can.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, just wanted to pop in to tell you I'm excited for you! Sounds like J is on board with NTNP even if he isn't 100% in the TTC boat yet. And I have (had) the libidos shifts, so I completely understand. Tons of luck to you!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, yay, glad to see you over here! I bet you'll be pregnant again in no time, and I hope I'm not too far behind you!

Ello, sorry about CD1. I know what you mean about trying to spice things up a bit for TTC because it does get to bit exhausting and routine sometimes, even more so when you have a young child at home and have to work around their schedule as well. I think there is more pressure on the guys to be ready to go when the time is right (not all DH's are as ready to go as Aviastar's), so I try to give my DH the heads up as to when we will need to ramp up our BDing efforts and just try to be accomodating as possible and not put too much pressure on him. A few drinks, a nice shower or some new lingerie never hurt anyone ;)

Sending my best to all of the TTC ladies. Hoping for some good news around here!

Coda, I personally don't have that issue, but since we're all about oversharing on this thread, I just wanted to let you know that there is a product called Preseed that a lot of TTC ladies use during ovulation time. It is safe for TTC unlike most other products, which are harmful to the swimmers.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MP-I did find out about preseed, of course a little too late for this cycle, but if things don't work out this month, I will get it for next month.

LC-I had the overactive libido this month too. On the two days before I ovulated, I just needed to BD. That's never happened to me either. Hopefully that means we both were successful in our efforts! :D

Ello, so sorry about CD1; I know how it feels when you want that BFP so badly. Hopefully it happens for you soon.

CD16 and chugging along here. The TWW is annoying, but going by quickly since I am pretty busy with work this month.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, look at you! Way to make it official!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I'm on CD21, probably about 10-11 dpo, and I decided to do a HPT. Actually, I've done 2 of them already today! The first one at 5:30 am seemed to show a very faint positive. It was one of the wondfro tests. The line was so faint that I decided to do another one around 9, a ClearBlue easy, and to me it's a faint positive but distinctly there. DH disagrees, so I will try a different test either later today or tomorrow morning. What's the consensus on the best HPT-First Response Early Result? From what I've read that seems to be the one of choice on pregnancy boards.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Yay Coda! A line is a line! Especially if you saw it on two different kinds of tests. Do you have a picture? It does seem the FRERs are the test of choice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that it just keeps getting darker!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Positive result on FRER! I'm still in shock as is DH. I just hope everything goes better this time around.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Oh, coda! So, so, so happy and excited for you! :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congratulations Coda. Sending truckloads of sticky, healthy dust your way.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congrats, Coda!! Sending tons of sticky dust your way!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congrats Coda!!!!!

LC-I am so excited for you to be not quite but maybe TTC:-)

Avia-You are a lucky girl to have a DH so ready to go all the time. Speaking from experience, TTC is 1000 times more challenging when your DH is *ahem* more reticent.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thank you Avia, JGator, and NEL! I'm so excited but worried at the same time. When should I call to schedule an appointment with the OB? Should I wait until I formally miss my period this week? Since I've already had a miscarriage I hope I will get to see her sooner than I did the last time which was 9 weeks.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Coda, I would call now and let them know about the previous MC when you call. They will likely have you come in for a beta soon.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks Bella! We must have been posting at the same time.

JGator, thanks for the advice I will call the doctor's office today.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Coda, Hooray congrats on the BFP!!! What a great way to start out the week. Is your DH finally convinced? I remember it took a WEEK for my DH to be convinced I was pregnant the first time. Hoping your OB will see you soon.

Bella, thanks for the thoughts. I'd have to say we're TTC since we're not preventing at all, but I'm sure my DH's heart isn't into it yet. It'll be more motivation out of necessity *if* we do get pregnant.

AFM, still in the TWW. My LP before pregnancy has always been 10 days, so I'd expect AF by Thursday or Friday depending on when I O'd. I'm not temping or using OPKs so I don't know for sure. But I figure I'll test on the weekend if I don't get AF by then. A big part of me would hope that I'm positive since this would work for my own (internalized) timeline. But a little teeny tiny part of me knows that DH wouldn't exactly be thrilled since this is not on his timeline. But I know he'd still be happy, but just he'd feel "rushed" (if that makes any sense).

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Coda, congrats!

I have no idea what is going on with my cycle, and it's pretty rare that I say that. I felt O pains on 9/7 (CD14) so I assumed AF would get here yesterday (since my LH is always 14 days). Well, she was a no show. But I also had O pains at other times, up through 9/11. It was a fairly stressful month so I think O might have been delayed. Anyway, last night I was checking my FF app to confirm my dates and DH asked what I was doing. I told him that AF was a no show and he got all freaked out. I told him not to worry since the only time we had BD'd all cycle was just a few days ago, so zero chance of pregnancy. He was all "well, you never know, should we go to the store and get a test?" Um, yeah, I do know. According to FF (using average cycle length) AF should be here tomorrow. The silver lining to all of this uncertainty is AF should not be showing up on day one of our cruise in November, so that's good. The bad thing is I hate not knowing where I am in my cycle, so it makes me want to go back to temping or at least OPKs. But then I also want to be a little more laid back this time, so I'm not sure what to do.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congrats on your BFP Coda!! That's awesome! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Coda, I'm so happy for you, and I will be sending you all kinds of dust for a healthy pregnancy! I hope you are able to get in earlier this time around to give you peace of mind. Grow baby grow!!!

LC, keeping my fingers crossed for you. I'm at about the same point as you - 7dpo. I'm on prometrium, so it's likely I'll have to test this time around rather than wait for AF to arrive or not arrive.

amc, hope you get some clarity. I tired to keep it low-key for a couple months and not use OPKs, but it drove me crazy not knowing where I was at in my cycle. Hoping the timing works out just how you want it to for your cruise. Oh, and my DH still remains pretty oblivious about how all of this works as well, even after all of this time TTC. About a day or two after my positive OPK, he was asking if I thought I was pregnant.

Aviastar, thinking of you and hoping your BFP is next up!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Well, the "big" mystery was short-lived...AF showed up today. So either my O pains (which I almost always feel exactly 14 days before AF arrives) weren't timed quite right or I had a 15 day LP. I guess I'll never know (not that it even matters...). I do think I'll pick up some OPKs, though.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks LC, amc, Gem, and MP. I'll join the JBP thread soon, but for now I'll probably keep it low key until I see my OB.
Good luck LC and MP in your TWW, maybe you'll get your BFP as well!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Coda!!!!! I am beyond excited for your and your DH. How lovely to get such positive news! You are going to be a mom!!! Yeah! Fingers crossed for a successful term. Please keep us posted.

Hi Gals, I'm on CD13. I'm suppose to be fertile but the OPK's say NO! I have EWCM comes and goes during the day, not really sure what's going on. Annoyed. Will test again tomorrow morning. I learned from my last cycle that my cycles are crazy and that no symptom counts. I googled every little thing so I'm trying to relax a little...ha! I hope you are all taking good care and staying positive. I think that is the hardest part of this journey. I finally bought a basal thermometer. I will attempt to take my temperature tomorrow morning. Good luck friends!!!
