The Official TTC Thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Okay is it just me or is basal thermometers really slow? It feels like forever holding the thing under your tongue. BTW my temp was 36.36 this morning after waking many times during the night. My little guy is teething, I think...
Oh and I finally got a Happy on the Digi at 4pm today. Wish us luck ladies, I love ya but I want to graduate! Ha ha!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ello, Yay for smiley faces! I could never get them so I just stopped using it because I would get so down when I got a big empty O staring me back. BBT, I guess you just get used to it. I really don't trust my temp since I'm waking MOTN between waking when I hear E cry, waking to pee (which I *never* did before pregnancy) or general stomach problems (had that earlier this week). Well, have at it, girl! And I would like to see you graduate to :)

AFM, well, from my PREVIOUS cycles (before having E) my LP was 10 days which would should mean CD1 is today or tomorrow latest based on EWCM I had this cycle. During lunch I felt a little damp so I was kinda bummed that AF was starting, BUT it turns out that's not the case. Not sure if I want to jump the gun and test tomorrow or just wait for the weekend like I said I was going to. Going back on my charts I got my BFP when I was 12 DPO, so maybe I'll just wait until Sunday to test.

Coda!!!!! I am beyond excited for your and your DH. How lovely to get such positive news! You are going to be a mom!!! Yeah! Fingers crossed for a successful term. Please keep us posted.

Thank you, Ello! I'm probably going to be posting mostly over in the Just Barely Pregnant thread, but I will be lurking here to see if any of you will be joining me there. Good luck, hopefullly this is your cycle!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lc, test, test! You know you want to :) Keep us posted!

CD1 for me, as expected.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MP, you're such a bad bad influence. Although I will admit I bought some HPT on my way to work today... BUUUT, I think I have to test at least tomorrow morning so DH can find out too. With Ethan, due to peer pressure from this very thread (ahem, MP! ;)) ), I tested @ work and ended up telling J over EMAIL. Wife fail. I have a good feeling, so I think I'm going to stop @ Old Navy and pick up a "Big Brother" shirt just in case.

ETA: Scratch that good feeling comment. Getting some spotting. Pretty sure CD1 for me today too.

~LC

I haven't posted in a while, but figured I'd join in on the thread since DH and I are now TTC. Cycle 1 was unsuccessful so for Cycle 2 I've been charting and I also bought OPK in hopes that it'll help. We'll see what happens! :)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Darnit LC, I hope that's not the case. I hope we both have a need to buy one of those big brother shirts soon!

Good luck, LisaMarie. Hopefully the OPKs will help you get the right timing this time around.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

OK, no sign of AF, I'm going to stay on the fence. I'll keep you guys posted when I test (probably tomorrow AM)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, yay, I hope it stays away! Spotting is frustrating because it can go either way. I always spot before AF, so it's usually a bad sign for m, but then I also spotted the day I got my BFP with Ev, so I never know what to think!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC you go girl!!!! Make us proud. I have a good feeling. Test girl!!! Okay don't listen to me. I'm an emotional TTC wreck that googled every sign, pinch & symptom the last cycle only to be slapped in the face by AUNT F! I'm holding thumbs for you. Gosh, for all of us.
I should really be on the trying for 6 months or more forum (it's been 9) but I feel more optimistic here. I guess I'll officially move over next cycle. I hear you on the walking during the night thing...I sleep at most 3 hours at a time. Between DH snoring, baby teething and my over active brain it's impossible to get a good snooze! Btw, I use cheap internet LH strips, midstream & OPK Digi's. A total freak! I like seeing the progression and top it off with a Digi. Last cycle I had two positive digital OPK's one week apart (totally weird, a failed egg launch) so now I test every day starting from about CD8. It's an expensive hobby but I can't afford to miss that egg!

LisaM- welcome! We hope your stay will be briefly! Hee hee! Happy to have another friend.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

CD1 for me. Boo. Looks like you guys have me for another few months. At least DH will be a little relieved.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi LisaM, welcome! May your stay be short!

Sorry about CD1, MP, LC, and amc. I was really holding out hope for you, MP, with such lovely big follies this go around. Refresh my memory- what's your plan fro this upcoming cycle? Clomid again, hopefully with a trigger this time?

Good luck, ello!!!

I'm sorry I haven't been around much, ladies, but I have been reading along. It's been an interesting month for us- we've made some major changes in our business and it's just been so insane. And now those decisions are paying off in a big way, which only makes it even more insane. I've traveled twice this cycle and never had a night's sleep that match another. So, my chart was useless and I kinda just gave up on it. Even without a chart, now that I am aware of CM it's hard to ignore, so I do think I ovulated this go round, somewhere close to CD19. It was only a day before I left to go out of town, so we hit to window before hand, but weren't able to cover anything in the days after. I'm feeling very neutral this month.

Even without a chart this month, DH wants me to go ahead and call the NP for an appointment if we're not successful this go 'round. I don't know, I might want another real chart first, but I'll decide that after next week; CD1 is due for me about Thursday.

As hard as it is to maintain the joy and hope as the months tick by- and I am still very affected by all the pregnancies and babies that abound- DH and I are such a good, good place in our lives right now. Our business is taking off, our marriage is strong and joyful, and there just isn't a lot of time to dwell on the perceived negative; I say perceived because I can't see the big picture and I don't know that the timing won't be better in the next few months than it has been in the past few. I'm in a good place, so I am going to try and just ride it for as long as I can :halo:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

So sorry LC. Holding thumbs for the next cycle.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ladies something weird. I have light pink spotting on day 1.5 days after O (possible O).
Is this spotting from BD friction or is this what happens after the Eggy pops? Anyone heard of this madness? It's way too soon for implantation bleeding.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Okay so I've continued to have Pink mucus spotting with tiny red speckles all day. I also have mild cramping. It's about 1.5 to 2 days after O. Is this a sign of Ovulation spotting or a cyst? I feel really bummed. Can this cycle be over before it's even started? I mean it's only CD16!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi Ello, I'm thinking the pink might be from BDing. Do you have any previous history of cysts?

Avia, glad things are going so well for you guys. Hoping BDing this cycle was all you needed. Enjoy riding the good wave. Sometimes you just have to count your blessings and enjoy. Seems like that's what you're doing :)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Just wanted to jump in here and say hi. This month DH and I officially make the jump from Wanting But Waiting to TTC. Although I have been wanting to do this for quite some time, I have to say, I'm suddenly quite nervous, and finding all the information in this thread a little overwhelming (although very helpful as well). I feel like we still have a lot to learn. I have been charting temps and occasionally using OPKs, so I think I have a pretty good idea when I O, but then my last cycle was irregular, after 6 regular cycles in a row. So I don't know. I think we are going to just jump in, start trying, and see what happens. I'm on CD 3 today, so we start soon! I can't believe I'm so nervous after waiting so long, but it all seems so surreal. I feel weird even posting in the TTC thread, but here I am! I appreciate the chance to read and learn from all of your experiences, so thank you!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi Blacksand, Welcome! Don't be nervous. It's a exciting journey with the most wonderful prize at the end!
I hope you will not have to stay here for very long. Best of luck to you!!! Using OPK's and watching for EWCM is a great start. Happy BDing!!!

Hi L-Chi,
I continued to spot all day (pink/brown & light cramps) today as well so BD friction spotting is out and I'm also starting to rule out Ovulation bleeding since it's been 2 days of spotting. What the hell!!! It must be a hormonal imbalance or cyst..OR the start of AF, I don't even want to type the word AF!!! I'm so bummed! This has never happened to me before. Crazy. On CD17 of all days.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

"Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormone imbalance that interferes with normal ovulation which can cause abnormal bleeding."
YIKES, I hope this is not my problem. Fingers crossed.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

ello, refresh my memory- did your last cycle end up being ok? Ok, as in falls within acceptable parameters for O and LP and such?

If it did, I would wait this weird cycle out and see if it's an anomaly. If you continue to get wackiness next go round I would call up a doc.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi blacksand! I think just jumping in and going for it is the best thing you can do. You may end up needing to understand all the charts and such or you could be KU by this time next month! So why not pad your chances as much as possible by just jumping, right?

I've been trying to six months now and I still have moments that I simply can't visualize my life being any different than it is right now; it's nerve wracking! But not nerve wracking enough to stop

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ello, I agree with Aviastar. I would probably just wait it out and see what happens with this cycle before jumping to any conclusions. But if you continue to have odd spotting like this, I would definitely see your doctor. Hopefully it is just a fluke.

Good luck Blacksand! Having a baby certainly changes your life. But without a doubt, all of the changes and sacrifices we had to make when our baby arrived are nothing compared to joy and meaning he has brought into our lives. It really isn't something you are ever going to be ready for, so you just kind of have to have faith it will all work out! There's really no need to get too caught up in the technical information unless and until you have to, and hopefully, you will get a BFP quickly.

Aviastar, I'm sorry that it has taken you longer than expected, but it sounds like you are in a good place and have a great attitude. One thing I realized after I finally conceived and had my son is that he was so meant to be, and that somewhat helps me this time around knowing that even though it hasn't happened on my timetable again, there is another baby waiting to arrive that is just as meant to be when the timing is right. And yes, to answer your question, I'm taking clomid again and hope to add a trigger this time around. I would like to try an IUI since that is what worked for us last time, but the timing is not good this month because we will be moving to a new house in a couple weeks and having company before that.

LC, I forgot to mention I'm sorry AF arrived, but I'm hopeful for you this month!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi Aviastar & Monkeyprincess, I still crack up every time I write Monkeyprincess...
Thank you guys for your comforting words. I will see what happens. One day at a time. My temperature is still climbing but I'm not sure how accurate it is since I wake many times during the night.
I had a regular LP (12 days) last 4 cycles...the only weird development the last cycle was that I had two positive OPK's two weeks apart which resulted in longer cycle (28 days). The mid cycle spotting is new for me. I'll probably see my DR if the bleeding continues. I just don't have time to worry about my own health...always so busy!!! The spotting is light, pinkish, off & on all day. TMI. A regular panty liner is fine. Now and then I'll see a piece of skin that is bright red. Weird. I had spotting when I was 6 weeks pregnant with baby no.1. It was a cyst on my right Ovary but the bleeding went away as quickly as it came and it was never a concern neither was it followed up. I did give birth at 26 weeks - There was no explanation for that. Our bodies are very complicated!
It is so true that we have to count our blessings. I feel so lucky every day that I have a gorgeous toddler who learned to climb onto our bed tonight! My little monkey! Say good bye to peaceful pricescoping! Ha ha!
Aviastar, I hope you will get that BIG + soon. Hang in there!!! I'm holding thumbs for you.
MonkeyPrincess, good luck with the clomid. I'm happy to hear that you are taking charge! Fingers crossed!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Welcome Blacksand, hopefully you'll be here for a short time. But it's totally normal to be freaked out and excited at the same time.

AFU, not much. CD6 here. Seems like I still have long cycles post baby, O around CD27. But that's still not the longest cycle I ever had, crazy, huh? Anyway, I counted it out and looks looks like I'll O *just* before I head out of town. Fortunately it's right around our anniversary, so well timed. :) I'm going to try OPKs this cycle. Last time I didn't have the patience to POAS multiple times a day, but maybe this time will be different. Do you still use FMU for OPKs?

I just bought some OPKs last night. We are still a couple of months out from TTC, but I hate not knowing what is going on. This month AF came one day later than expected (I knew I wasn't pregnant) and I hated being in the dark. As far as FMU, that's what I use. I have a hard time getting a + any other time of the day. And my brand (Target brand) says to use FMU or use pee that has been held for at least two hours. I even brought out my trusty ol' BBT....but have forgotten to use it two mornings in a row. I guess that's a hard habit to get into.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks for the welcome! And good luck to all of you!! Hopefully all of our stays (in this thread) are short and sweet. :))

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, I jsut use FMU with the wondfos. When I can tell it is fading in, I start testing twice a day if I can, but I never seem to be able to hold off using the restroom or drinking water long enough to test later in the day, and I try to stay hydrated around O time. Good luck this cycle. By the way, you're ahead of me now because I thought last Friday was CD1, and I started clomid on Sunday, but it turns out that was just heavy spotting I guess, because yesterday was definitely CD1. I'm starting the clomid over again tomorrow or Saturday.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

OK I have a bunch of Wondofo OPKs from last time, so I might as well use them. OPKs don't expire do they?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, unfortunately, they do have expirations dates on them. I noticed that when I started trying again, and I threw out my old ones and ordered new ones. It's possible that they would still work after the expiration date, but I didn't want to have to wonder....

It's a short expiration for some brands. Mine say to use within 30 days of opening the canister.
