A long long time ago in a galaxy far away.....oh wait....not that long ago in a small Ohio town....I was on vacation and purchased a loose RED mexican Fire opal. The little opal was camera shy for quite a long time and felt rather lonely in his little box. He wasn't sure where he belonged and felt like the only fire opal around - he never saw any of his friends again after that fateful day when he arrived in my posession...until today! Mr. Mexican Fire Opal was reunited with his long lost twin sisters...Right Ear Fire Opal and Left Ear Fire opal.....amazing perfect match from two different sources. the loose stone from one and the earings from another local source here in FL found by sheer coincidence as I went into a local jewlers to try and find a loupe to purchase (which i still haven't found).

Please join me and wipe your tears as I present to you the Red Mexican Fire Opal Reunion...(pardon the poor photo's - i'll post better ones soon)

trio and that's tape on the box your seeing....

The mandatory ear shot.....gosh i have ugly ears

The Loose stone is going to be set in an white gold basket with a small diamond above it. I'm thinking East West Setting but the jewler wanted an astounding 175-250 for the setting and to set the stones...roughly adding the fiqures together in my head.

Pretty color!

Thank you, the pictures don''t do them justice. They really are cherry red and show off so much fire and sparkle...still fighting with my ddarn camera...

Oh, they are just so sweet! Cute story, too!!

Thanks everyone. I think I got a pretty good deal on the earrings. They are 18K white gold and .75carats of MFO.

Very nice.

If you are looking for a good loupe, can I recommend a black-cased x10 Belomo - you can buy them on-line and the optics are superb (they are manufactured in Belarus by a company that makes sights for missile launchers, however they work in collaboration with Carl Zeiss and the lenses in their loupes are Zeiss.)

I spent forever trying to find a loupe I really liked and I doubt I will ever switch brands.

Really beautiful and I love the color.

Ooh, very pretty!

Beautiful stones and the colour is amazing!

What a spicy shade of red! It reminds me of a ripe habanero chili. Beautiful stone!

anything orange is at the top of my list!

I''m really hoping to get some better photos soon, but today isn''t my "patience" day...so it will have to wait a bit longer..

Very cool! I love that bright orangey-red color and they do match perfectly!

Very pretty - love how it glows
