The two week club!

So I did a thing.

I’ve been in the four+ week club, and as such, keep checking the site and ogling diamonds.

I ordered a beautiful ACA

I decided to be the nightmare customer that I can sometimes be and made the switch.

So just as my I was in the two week club, I put myself back into the four week club.

Am I stupid?

I should stop checking the vendor’s inventory now, lol.

And I am in love with it! So happy with the c’s ... setting really shows the pretty D color and DSS has not set in yet ... the diamond is a 1.424 ACA nice and clear at VVS2 ... omg ... lol

Thanks, @Heathcat24! It was going to be made from a pendant but I ended up having DK make the whole ring (diamonds and all) and base it on the design of the pendant.

Based on the video, I’m not a fan of the way the prongs look They look bulkier than Valmanin or KristyDarling’s rings which have more “singular prongs”.

I reached out to Chris and he said the original BE Dina ring has prongs just like mine. But that he’d talk to the team to see if it’s possible to make the prongs more to my liking, if I decide to. I’ll wait till I see the ring in real life.

I know rings are much more delicate in real life. It’s easy to look at CADs and zoomed videos and think something looks bulky After all, they do look like little cute hearts, even cuter than the classic Mark Morrell ones... I just don’t want the metal to overpower the stone and make it look smaller

I think the prongs will be fine. I noticed that when I took pictures of my ring, the prongs for some reason look bigger than they do in real life. I think that’s what is happening with yours. Just my two cents.

The 'shoulders' of the prongs look larger than I would have thought but it truly could just be the picture. You'll have to see it first to decide. It looks beautiful though!

That’s helpful to hear that other people have thought their prongs looked different in photos. Btw your setting is so gorgeous and I just love the icy D color of your diamond!! I’m planning on slowly upgrading the color every few years —it will take a while since mine is I color.

You are totally right, it’s just my irrational brain being nitpicky. I will be sure to post many pics and videos once I receive it, but first I have to wait for the proposal I mean the holidays are the PERFECT time to propose but I’ve told my boyfriend to take his time. We’ll see!

I was able to take a peek at the ring, and the prongs are indeed too bulky for my taste It’s frustrating because the final CADs that I approved showed claw prongs — so these bulky prongs came out of nowhere. I think if the tips of your petals were longer (the bit that looks like a prong) the actual petal section would be kept against the pavilion of the diamond and wouldn't fold over the prongs like you can see there. I think that makes you feel it's too bulky. That then would mean your diamond was either set higher or the petals would need to be smaller.

Also I see what you mean about the arrow symmetry, were you wanting the arrows set NSEW or off point? Might depend on where your girdle inscription is if you want that exposed or which part of the facets the prongs will lie on for the most security.

Good point about the inscription...either NSEW or off point is fine, just as long as it’s symmetrical. I’ll make sure to mention that.

I'm waiting for a shipping notification for this: https://www.leibish.com/au/necklaces-jewelry/pink-diamond-filigree-pendant-27934 . It's only Fancy Light, but the setting will hopefully strengthen the colour; if not, I'll return it and get most likely a smaller Fancy Intense (in a simpler setting, for budget reasons!).



Apparently it's 3-5 business days from New York to Sydney (plus maybe time at customs?)... I'm going away at the end of next week, so I really hope it arrives before then! But if not, I'll have something to look forward to when I return.

A few months ago, while looking at .5 carat stones, I stumbled across a .72 W-X SI1 color asscher at B2C Jewels that somehow showed up in their virtual inventory. Turns out, it was eye clean! Now, I know it is probably not the best cut by Pricescope standards (leakage, P3 issues, etc.), and I honestly had every intention at every point along the way of returning it, but, when I saw it in person, I absolutely LOVED it! I STILL do! It's SO PRETTY! (At least, to me. LOL!)

I decided to do a right hand ring with it. I wanted a halo to bring out the color of the W-X, and to make it look totally different than my F color ER, but I really didn't want to spend three times as much on a setting as on the stone. (I mean, I need a bling budget for this year, too, right?)

Then, right before Christmas, I saw this setting at Ivy and Rose that, I kid you not, y'all, makes me giddy every time I look at it! I'm not a "frilly" girl or normally into vintage, really, but I think this is just DIVINE!

I am sending my stone to them today, so I'm officially waiting. It's probably going to be more like three weeks. (Ugh!) But I'll be right here, eyeing your creations! Thanks for waiting with me!

Mind you, it briefly terrified me when I clicked, because it said "Scheduled Delivery: 01/07/2019", which to an Australian means the first of July... "SIX MONTHS away‽" I thought, then realised that it actually means this Monday!

... In my defence, it's Saturday morning and I'm probably not quite awake yet.
