The two week club!

Probably more like three weeks away but I’m finally setting my 3.18 ct yellow radiant!!! It has been the bane of my existence since I purchased it last summer. I just couldn’t seem to get the setting right. I came very close to listing it in pre loved. I’m excited that it is finally being set and I hope I’m happy with it.

Did your your daisy design come together?

Can't wait! Why is there no emogi for living vicariously? It's a real thing.

Did your your daisy design come together?

Yes! Well hopefully  I’m still a bit nervous about the whole design but DK got everything to fit more symmetrically.

I was supposed to be on ban island but I through out a low ball offer on it, not expecting it to go through and the buyer approved it this morning, so I guess that’s happening

I took my T-1 ring, that my husband gave me for Valentine's Day, (see my previous posts) back to Tiffanys today. Despite the ring not coming close to fitting (see previous photo), the SA and her manager still insisted that the ring should fit me.

Meanwhile, it is over a full size smaller on our mandrel than any of my other ring finger rings, including the ones I was wearing today.

Because Tiffany "sized the ring down" before I received it, they will not accept a return. So now, they're sizing it back up to the original full size in which the SA originally said needed to be sized down to what I received.

This makes no sense to either my husband or myself. Nevertheless, Tiffanys won't replace the ring. They will only keep resizing it (up-down-I don't know what).

When I was originally in the store in early February, the half size (down from the full size they're going to go back up to again), did fit on my ring finger. However, it felt a hair snug. It did easily go over my knuckle and did not cut off my circulation. It merely felt a bit snugger that I like, but not horrible.

The next full size up (which they're going to size back up to again) was too loose. So, they supposedly took that full size and sized it down 1/4 size. In theory, this should have fit and because it would have been 1/4 size larger than the half size down which I could get on in the store. Does that make sense? However, the 3/4 size (1/4 size bigger than the half size I had tried in the store) I got ended so tight that it won't go over my knuckle.

The store manager (called in by the SA who sold us the ring) tried to force the ring over my knuckle in the store today, insisting that maybe the warmer day (60 degrees) had made my hand swell up & that ring sizing was not a problem, the weather was. As soon as she tried to shove the ring onto my knuckle, my circulation started to be cut off, just like in the above photo. If none of this makes sense to you, it doesn't to us either.

My wedding set on my left hand and the RHR I wore into Tiffanys today on my ring finger: all fit just the same this week as they did the first time we went into the Tiffany store. If anything, those spin a little. So, why would 60 degrees outside make my finger suddenly too big for only the Tiffany ring??? We also received the Tiffany ring when the weather was close to zero outdoors. It didn't fit then either. So why were the Tiffany employees suddenly telling me that it was my (or the weather's) fault that the new (never worn) T-1 doesn't fit? The SA sized the ring originally. I didn't tell her a size. She was the one to determine the size I would need.

The bottom line is I'm now stuck with the ring. No replacement. The only thing Tiffanys will do is keep resizing it until it goes over my knuckle and also not slip off - if that is even possible. Since I haven't even been able to get this new ring onto my ring finger (not even once), it is brand new and totally unworn. So deep discounting it for the resale market would be a bigger blow than we can afford. What a mess. And very unexpected. I really like the ring.

My brand-new Tiffany ring will be a multi time resized ring before I can ever get to wear it, if they can ever get the sizing right. IMHO, this is crazy.

Anyhow, it will now be 3 more weeks before the resized (back to the original full size that was too big in the store) gets back to me from New York.

Has anyone else ever had an experience like this with Tiffany rings and sizing??? Does all this resizing and re resizing nonsense now ruin the integrity of my brand new ring? It has pave diamonds, as in the photo.

For those who missed my previous posts, this is the ring in question: https://www.tiffany.com/jewelry/rings/tiffany-t-t1-narrow-ring-GRP12626/

What started out to be a wonderful adventure into the world of Tiffany jewelry has now become a pain in the you-know-what. I still feel it's a gorgeous, very modern, high quality ring. But this sizing up and down and down and up and whatever has taken a lot of the glow of the experience away. We went to the Tiffany store - rather than order it via the Internet - to make sure the ring we bought would be the correct size. Now, here we are.

I would not accept that solution. I would go up the ladder until you get a brand new ring in your size. I would be really upset. I’m sorry this happened. If I read correctly, then they screwed up the paperwork about the size the first time and the Mandel shows it way smaller so it doesn’t make sense that this is your mistake.

Keep fighting with Customer Service and keep calling and ask to speak to supervisors. This is not right, and I am so angry for you!

If you sized up for this spacer as you mentioned in my thread, and if the height of the band is identical to Flora (2mm), it may actually protrude/stand higher off the finger bc the interior diameter is larger than Flora… just something to check for if a flush fit is important to you

Ooo… good point. My platinum spacer is a half size bigger than Flora. This one will be 3/4 of a size bigger. Im not too concerned about the height being perfect, it’s more the feel with three bands. I don’t like a tight feel at all, nor do I like the feeling of Flora being too close to my knuckle - it’s a sensory thing.
Visually I want a spacer to be thin so I can see my eternity and add a pop of color. I also have short fingers so not a lot of room to work with

I had this band in 18 kt gold with diamonds spaced around it. It was a lovely band but maybe a tad taller or thicker than what I would call a spacer ring. It has some heft but I hope it works for you. I sold that ring when I got my current Tiffany band but I wish now I had kept it.

I’ll have to see how it shakes out when it comes, hopefully soon! Everything else on their site was 2mm or wider, so fingers crossed. What band do you have now? Why do you wish you hadn’t sold the Bezet? She has a couple 18k yg bezets listed…

The Bezet band is no longer made by Tiffany. It was not available through them for a long time, so finding them on resale is hard. I have seen a couple in like a size 7, but I am 5.5. I currently have the yellow gold channel set eternity band which is no longer offered by Tiffany either. Seems like several of their staple pieces were discontinued when the ownership changed. I would maybe use the diamond Bezet to stack. I just don’t have a lot of finger space so I thought I wouldn’t wear it and sold it.
Here is a picture of it when I received it. It was before I upgraded my ering:

My Tiffany t-1 is now on the Fed Ex truck. Delivery tomorrow.

No matter what I said or did, Tiffany absolutely refused to replace the brand new ring that I had bought in the Tiffany store, even after it was incorrectly sized by the SA. Once a ring is altered in size, Tiffany has a very strict no return policy for any reason. See above story. Anyhow, after the initial mistake sizing, they have resized the ring again "for free". The store manager acted like they were doing me a major favor. At this point, I just want a ring that fits.

Fingers crossed that the t-1 will fit this time. It's such a pretty ring.

Meanwhile, I absolutely love the t-wire that I've been wearing as a pinkie ring since the day I bought them both in our local tiffany store. The t-wire is so comfortable, plus very pretty. It has just the right hint of sparkle from the diamonds.

The plans originally were (are) to wear the t-1 and the t-wire together on adjacent fingers. Since I haven't yet been able to wear the t-1 on my ring finger, I've been wearing the t-wire beside a rose gold and diamonds band DKJ custom made for me. They look great together.

Hopefully, the t-1 will fit this time and maybe look even better with the t-wire since they are accompanying designs. See my photos in above posts.

Guess I'll know for real tomorrow. I just hope that my new t-1 will fit this time. However, I'm truthfully a little nervous.

I was very upset at first about how this was being handled. But then, I realized that if the original ring gets resized by Tiffany and looks new (as it is) when I receive it, it's just not worth the headache of going beyond the battle I've had with the local Tiffany store where I bought it.

Still, I will always feel a little miffed that it had to be resized twice for me to end back at a stock size.

But it seems like Tiffany often resizes brand new rings and still considers them new. I was looking at a 2mm channel set, half diamond band on-line. But they didn't have very many sizes left. So, to get me to buy the ring, they said they could size the ring up for me 3 sizes. I turned that down. Three sizes on a channel set diamond band sounded excessive.

Anyhow, it seems like Tiffany considers resized (by them), unworn rings the same as "factory" brand new for sale to the original owner who requested the resizing. However, once a ring is resized for any reason, it is not return or exchangeable.

My escalating the mis-sizing issue (not my fault) with my t-1 beyond the local store would have undoubtedly meant more stress for me than just letting Tiffany in New York resize the original ring. When I get it back this time, it will again be a stock size. What an annoying journey.

Waiting on two pretty bands

So many gorgeous band acquisitions @lavenderdragonfly23 :kiss2:… I had to get a new car this week because my car was having too many issues and I didn’t want to spend another nickel on it- so brand new car, ring upgrade and eternity band- hubby literally said “no more.” Lol! So I’m living vicariously through you all!

I still stare at her quite a bit and find that I am also wearing my eternity band on the right and stacking astrid with smaller bands, because they make her pop! I plan to update my thread with some new pics! Def by tomorrow! The car search distracted me, lol!

Hi @starbrite, I've been wondering how things went with the Tiffany resize. No pressure to respond but I just wanted you to know I've been thinking about you and hoping that everything worked out ok.

Just nabbed this for a great price. The prongs seem like they need to be repaired and would need to be sized. It’s 18k and size 7, needs to be size 8.25!

The seller didn’t have a ruler (lol) so no idea how many carats it is

Gorgeous! Looks like it could be a pretty high carat weight. I'd send it to a good restorer. Those prongs should be triangular shapes between the prongs (like this or like this) but looks like they have been badly repaired at some point in the past. Resizing up to 8.25 should be no problem IMO.

This is really helpful, thanks for the examples …that’s what I thought too - a really bad repair in the past! I was going to reach out to David Klass but also open to recommendations

I think that is a great place to start. I think they can do a great job.
