Hi PSers,

I would like to ask for your opinion here. My fiance and myself are getting married in Maui, Hawaii and I'm looking for some ideas for favors. Since it will be on the small size (about 40 people), I thought I could splurge a little more. Also, I really didn't want anything that would just collect dust on someone's shelf at home and I don't want it to come off like a cheesy wedding party favor either.

I like the idea of candles and found these great ones online (I've also seen them around my town in boutiques too).

Here are two pics. They come in different sizes, I'll probably get the 5.5 oz and it comes in the cool gift box too.

A background on my theme.... limey green (green orchid) w/ white and tan.

I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks.

Here is one option - these are soy candles and the scent is bali lime

Here is the other one... Vanilla Orchid

Also, what do you think about getting both and alternating them?

My tables at the dinner reception will be simple with white table cloths, white napkins, white plates and on top of the white napkins will be one green orchid.

Then there will be a ton of little white tea light candles in tall glass holders (not really tall but enough to block the flame from the wind)

The cake will also be centerpieces because I''m probably doing small 6" rounds that are about 3" thick with white ganache and a couple green orchids laying on top. There will be about 10 cakes plus one that is a mini tier for myself and my fiance to cut.

Here is the other candle

this is a fantastic favor and ties in well with your theme. alternating them would be very cool; if you have a couple sitting next to each other they would walk home with one of each which is nice. love it!

I love it too and agree with tdiddy on the alternating idea. A couple might not want two of the same, but if you alternate them, they''re good! I think that would be a popular favor and it goes great with the theme!

ooooohhh... that is a good point about alternating! Thanks! And almost eveyone at our wedding will be couples.

I''m really getting excited about this! Yeppie!!!!

Thanks again
