Think I can get my $$$ back?

OK, I put a 50% deposit down on a dress at a bridal salon but I never got measured and the dress hasn''t been ordered. What are the odds of getting my deposit back? I don''t want to do anything dishonest but since nothing was ordered it seems reasonable to me to get my deposit back.

I don''t know the store''s policy but just wondered what you ladies thought about this.

I would call and ask, but I would not be surprised if they told you no.

depends on the store. check with them to be sure.

i think there is a store near me that once you put a deposit, it''s there for good. you can switch around the money in the store, like if you changed your mind on a dress and the one you now want is also at the store, but that''s it.

Ouchy - 50% down? It can''t hurt to ask, particularly if they haven''t ordered the dress yet. My SIL had a similar issue but only put down $300 on the first gown...and she lost it. I hope you don''t lose your deposit...

Call and ask. If you were planning on ordering another dress from that salon, I bet it would be an easier argument to win.
