Hi there - So I am technically challenged (don''t know how to post pictures) - but I do know how to cut and paste and I would very much appreciate your opinions on which shoes I should wear with this dress. It''s an ourdoor ceremony in late summer 2006. I love the vintage look of the JCrew shoes but wonder if since it''s outdoors whether I should maybe wear open toed. Many thank yous... SB

Thanks again!!

hmmm. are you set on one or the other. i like the jcrew shoe better -- your dress is gorgeous

and pretty formal, so i think that a closed toe is more appropriate. but i''m not sure that such a substantial bow really suits your dress. maybe something closed toe, w/o such a big bow?

I am not set on _anything_ and I think that is part of the problem... So you think closed toe? Okay - that is a good start - I just didn''t know if ourdoor ceremony dictated open toes. And I think you are right - the bow may be too much considering the busy nature of the dress...

Your dress is so gorgeous! We''ll have to teach you how to post pictures so that you can show us pics of you in it.

I love the JCrew shoes the best, probably because of what lulu said, they seem more formal, and your dress is so formal.

Here is the dress:

Open Toe Shoe:

I like the Jcrew ones myself, does the heigh of the heel matter? I think the second option is more jr prom.

Thanks so much for posting!!! That is SO neat - all on one page!!

The height does not bother me - I am only 5''3" so I can use the height and will sacrifice my feet for a night ;-) Ok, so I think I will order the JCrew ones - unless you guys agree with lovelylulu that the bow is too much for the dress...

well not to confuse, if it''s an outside ceremony, then i think an open-toe is appropriate. also, i wonder which style is more comfortable for dancing

if you get a closed-toe that''s too pointy it might be painful. but you can always just kick ''em off later

Can I first just say I LOVE (

) your dress and LOVE (

) those JCrew shoes?

That being said, either would work, I think. Maybe if you bought both pairs and tried them on with your dress, one would speak to you. Then, just return the other pair!

yikes - back to where i started from... i guess i will buy bother kinds and then test them with the dress - pointy may be too much for dancing - i just saw them (the pointy shoes with the bow) in a photo from another wedding on my photographer''s website and thought they looked so cool.

Love the JCrew shoes and I think the bow will be cute with the detail on your dress.

I like the open-toe shoe, you dress is beautiful and I think the shoe with the bow, although pretty, would take away from that. Although it''s not like you can see it.

love the dress love the jcrew shoes...but maybe witha bit smaller bow? this one seems kinda overwhelming.

Love the dress and both shoes, my vote would be for the open toe though, especially since your wedding is in the summer and I think the simplicity compliments your dress so well.

I think I am going to confuse you even more. I like the J Crew shoes if the bows are smaller because your dress is delicate looking and the bows are just too overwhelming on such a delicate dress. I like the open toe shoes if the heels are higher. That height might be more comfortable but it just doesn''t do it for me. Neither one is perfect for your dress IMO. If I have to choose, then I would go with the J Crew ones.

I like the J crew ones...

I like the J.Crew shoes better. Open-toe would be fine, but I don''t think that pair goes with your dress.

Definately the JCrew. What will the ground be like that you are walking on?

I vote for the opened toe shoes. They look more comfortable.

My vote is for the closed toe shoe, jcrew.

Your dress is very pretty and has lots of details, so i would keep the shoe simple.

I just wanted to add that I own the open toe shoe that you were showing...and they look great on, and are very comfortable. Also look on the saugus shoe website for more designs. I think the JCrew showes are pretty, but may be a bit preppy, for such an elegant dress.

Love your dress, and love the J. Crrew shoes. The open-toe are not formal enough....and I dont think the bow on the J Crew shoes is too overwhelming- just looking at a really magnified picture of them, so it looks larger than it is....

here''s a post of something''s potential jcrew shoes on a foot -- i think that they could work. they look like a great pair!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I am still not decided, but you have all given me lots to think about. The ceremony is outdoors and then the cocktail hour is outdoors as well. The rest of the night will be in and out - dancing inside, but sliding glass doors will be opened and half the quests will also be seated outside... The dress seems pretty formal to me, but the location is more garden-y. I really plan on wearing nothing but my pearl stud eaarings (i am usually such a simple person - but for some reason the dress spoke to me - busy-ness and all). At this point I am going to order an open toe pair and the jcrew pair - my dress is still not in so there is time. I may even try and come up with a way to where them BOTH!! Thanks so much for all of your help - I will keep you posted!!
