I know you spent a lot of time thinking about this setting and may I just say that it turned out even better than I imagined it would! Such a beautiful thing, you did really, really well (um, so did Leon).

Am I right in thinking the centre stone is from DBL? I remember you traded up a different yellow, or am I thinking of a different project? So good to see the finished piece, it really is stunning. I hope she loves it (struggling to imagine that she wouldn''t).

S&G: Actually I did this on my own. DW has a 2.5 ct oval chalcedony ring set E-W which looks awesome on her hand. That was the reason for purchasing a yellow diamond and having it set E-W. Other than that, the setting was Leon Mege''s brainchild. He had an "inspiration photo/drawing" of this setting in his files and said that he always wanted to make it up..so viola..here she is. Actually, the original design had melee on three sides which made it look a little too cartoonish, so he thought it would look more elegant to have the diamonds on 2 sides to thin it out a bit.

It will be a while before I give her to DW, so she is going into the safe until I have MY new wedding band made up. I''m looking desparately for a yellow baguette to set in a yellow gold 8mm band. I''m thinking of having the rings blessed and having a private ceremony with just DW and our kids (not really a renewal of our vows--cause I really don''t get those...(lol)..). I promise to post more pictures.

Jen: Thank you very much. Yes, you are correct--this was a trade-up stone, and yes...it is from DBL. (you amaze me Jen that you remembered that).

It doesn''t get much better than a DBL-sourced colored diamond in a Leon Mege melee setting...does it?

It''s such a gorgeous, eye pleasing shade of pure yellow and no, I don''t think it can get any better than a great DBL canary diamond and Leon doing the moutning. Stunning and elegant. Definitely a once in a lifetime ring.

Ah, I have an unfailing memory for bling of this magnitude. A DBL, set by Leon- about as good as it gets.

Your idea for a ring ceremony sounds very special. I hope you have a wonderful time. Take a pic of her face when she opens the box for the first time!

I am visibly "SHAKEN, not stirred"-

That is the most incredible anniversary surprise EVA! Poetry. The yellow cinch band is so unexpected yet feminine and delightful. The gathering of the melee/pave edge that drops below the cinching...well, no one other than Leon could have thought of that.

The yellow claw prongs are perfect to compliment the sunshine yellow...the EW is so contemporary yet, classic. Split shank...ooh baby. Every angle is delightful!

I have said this on other Leon''s...when he is in charge of the design, the intricacy makes the design seem so simple...SO normal..never forced, just poetry. As if it is the way it should always be.

Then to hear about the presentation and your plans...well Bond, James Bond, you are priceless!

Yeap I am Shaken...can''t wait to learn her reaction!
