It’s yellow gold though, not sure how Ruby’s look in yellow gold.
What do you think, it’s an economical option ?

I think red looks lovely with yellow gold!

My only reservation is how prongy it is compared to your stone which seems to have a squarish shape to it.

I think 4 prongs would be better?

Rubies are traditionally set in yellow gold in not sure why that’s deturing you.
That setting is extremely retro and is not going to be a popular one here but there’s nothing wrong with it and I’m sure the color would pop

could you find a better one for the price? Depends on the price and your taste

I love rubies in yellow gold. Personally I think most of them fall a little flat in wg/platinum.

Do you like the setting? Or is it more of an affordable means to an end? I agree with mellow yellow that it may not be well suited for the cushiony shape of your stone.

Rubies look awesome in yg and I think the setting is cool, but then, I'm partial to baguettes! I have a yg with baguettes cross pendant that I wear almost daily so I personally love your setting. Pretty sure the prong head could be changed if necessary.

I love rubies and yellow gold and that retro setting is cool. I love retro and if it is to your taste I think it will be beautiful in that setting.
