This is the setting that I''m thinking about for my engagement ring. The center stone will be smaller than the one in the picture--probably along the lines of 8mm--and pink instead of green.

What do you think?

I have always loved that setting. I think it will be beautiful!!!!!

Isn''t that the same setting as the Pokey Special?

Check that out for an awesome e-ring.

In case it''s helpful, IIRC Pokey said the setting was in the $5k ballpark

That is helpful. I love your setting too Pandora, do you mind sharing where you found it?

Here''s another one that I''m considering. Thoughts?

I prefer this one to the previous one (which is the Pokey special).

MissPinky - I really like both the settings! Apologies in advance if you have already considered this issue and are fine with it, but just wanted to check that you are OK w/ not wearing a wedding band with the 3-sided pave ER? (It did not bother me, but LM really advises not to wear a ring next to the pave and I know that is an issue for many, so just wanted to mention it.) I think either setting could be gorgeous with a pink stone - can''t wait to see what you decide to do!

Thanks so much for letting me know--I never would have thought that, but it makes a lot of sense. I don''t have a problem with not wearing a wedding band next to it. When you have such a pretty setting I think it would be a shame to cover up a side of it.

Another vote for Pokey Special..

I think the blue on is Widget''s Mozambique Tourmaline. It''s nice to see Leon used it on his website. It is a gorgeous ring.

Widget''s Leon

Yes the final product is going to be beautiful! Your smart to go with a protective setting.

Oops I meant the one from the other post. This ones beautiful too but it exposes the stone more.

Thank you.

My setting is one I designed based on a combination of the Pokey Special, a Daniel K and a Cartier. The main difference being that I don''t care for split shanks with two lines of diamonds going all the way down, or that look like two rings stuck together.

I had mine custom-made with graduated melee all the way down. Half pointers on the prongs, 1pt on the split graduating to a 4pt where they meet and then graduated back down to a 1pt at the bottom of the channel. I understand the benchman wasn''t overly thrilled with my idea...

I like the split shank the best. If you are not going to wear a wedding band, then I think the split shank will give you more finger presence.

Can''t go wrong either way though!
