Thoughts on this diamond/sapphire moi et toi

Any thoughts on this one? I have a $300 credit I need to use and this just went to 40 percent off. I’m not looking for a perfect diamond but I do have nail head phobia. And a sapphire has been on my list. No idea how to evaluate those either. I have no attachment to the setting.

Ps. Forced (forced) to cheat on ban island because of the expiring store credit. :lol-2:

I really can’t speak to valuation, but I think it’s quite nice, and if it’s sized correctly, it could sit very nicely on the hand. I do have a concern about the construction though. There are bits of unplated yellow gold showing on the underside that might be repairs - possibly rather inexpert repairs (or fabrication)? If this were my ring I’d bring it right to my jeweler for a once-over - and I’d expect to spend quite a bit to bring it up to snuff for routine wear. (If you’re thinking of this as a special occasion ring, maybe the repairs wouldn’t be as important.)

Which finger would you be wearing this on? I think it would be a great middle finger ring!

Thank you! I think I’d have it remade into another ring. The construction scares me too!

The ring is very pretty and I can see why you like it. Just some things to consider. I think since you are buying for the stones you will want to take in account that both are chipped and the sapphire is abraded. The description details the smaller stone which is the diamond is chipped. I can see a chip on the sapphire as well in the pics.

They both will need re-polished/re-cut to look their best. Since the sapphire is moderately to heavily included there is more risk in re-cutting it.
