Thoughts on this oval Sapphire with bow tie effect?

This sapphire would fit in the platinum setting I have that formerly held a synthetic. I like the color and at 9 x 7 it’s under $1500, so the price is nice. I know at this price there will be compromise, but I’m just not sure how bad the bow tie and window would be in person? The depth of the stone is 4.2, so probably not deep enough to tweak cut issues with a pavilion recut. For those of you who have seen lots of stones in person, how noticeable do you think the cut issues would be in person? I tend to be impulsive and act hastily when it comes to CS, so please stop me from buying this if it’s a bad choice! ;)

Gosh I love this color! It's really beautiful. I'm sorry but I don't have a clue about the window and if it would close up enough in a setting. I really don't like windows and I hate bowties (except the version men wear around their neck that is haha) but I am not knowledgeable enough to share any info with you with regards to your questions. I am looking forward to the colored gem experts chiming in here to help you.

I am no expert, but I think the window might close up in a setting because it looks like a smaller window.
The bow tie will probably always be very obvious though.

I own a couple of oval stones that have bow ties but when I turn them east to west, the bow tie disappears. So the way you have a stone set could probably help with that.

I would only buy it if you really love the color. Not just because you think it’s a good price or have a setting you want to fill.

I think vendors show you the best case scenario though, so if you aren’t in love with the picture, you most likely won’t love it in person.

The only way to really know 100% is to see it in person or ask for a lot more pictures.

Yes it’s good to remind ourselves of the sage advice/saying “a deal is only a deal if you are getting exactly what you want “

Don’t settle if the bow tie or window is going to annoy you in the long run. Not worth the money you are saving. Instead wait till you find just the right gem. And keep saving up for the right one. If you decide this one isn’t it.

Ask the vendor for a realistic pic on the back of a hand so you can see how it will actually look against skin, in a range of lighting situations ie inside and outside. I like the colour of it, if it is that colour.

Thanks so much for the input @missy , @livannie and @arkieb1!
You all helped me see things clearly with your great advice. I do like the color too, but it is considered violet and had originally been looking for blue, so another compromise I would be making. That along with the cut issues and the fact that the vendor is in Thailand and I’m in the US making returns difficult, are reasons I will pass on this one. I’m thinking I might just try to sell or scrap the setting that had the synthetic in it, cut my losses on that mistake and start from scratch, instead of trying to find a stone to fit in it. That would make me happiest in the long run, since my feelings about that situation it aren’t that great. A fresh start!
Thank you all for helping me figure this out!

I'm not sure which vendor it is in Thailand but IMHO a lot of vendors photoshop/edit their images so the stone looks nothing like their pics. Always ask for a unedited back of the hand photo in indoor and outdoor lighting to be sure.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll be sure to request those images in the future. This sapphire is from Multicolour. The GIA coding they use for their online ID report seems helpful, but they just have the one photo on their site and he sent me this additional hand shot. It might be a better possibility for someone not picky about cut. https://www.multicolour.com/detail/?/details/single/sapphire/ysa768aa/
