Weelll, here's the update. I am a terrible PSer for getting this SO very wrong (please don't throw rotten eggs at me!). I had the numbers transposed in my mind. The stone is 2.84, not 4.28...big difference! Seen on it's own (i.e. not in comparison to another stone), I guess I didn't realize that it couldn't possibly be 4.28 carats.
Here's another shocker. It is GIA certified E, VS2 with measurements of 9.26x7.60x5.52mm. Table 40%, Depth 72% and has medium blue flour. Here's another photo of it:
Now that I realize that it isn't as large a stone as I thought it was, I am going to adopt it and give it a loving home!! The jeweler agreed to take my cushion in trade (in addition to writing me a check). I would still like to sell the Martin Flyer setting and work with someone well respected on PS to make a setting for the oval.
