Hi, I would love your opinions on this 4.00ct unheated yellow sapphire. It has medium color saturation and even color distribution. It’s currently uncertified but the vendor (a reputable one in Thailand) has said they will send it to get certified. Waiting to see which lab/what the timing is for that. Is $4500 a fair price? They do have a generous return policy, but I would like to avoid shipping it back to Thailand from the US!

Here are some videos:

I think it's a lovely stone for a very reasonable price. The culet/pavilion is a bit off-center, but it doesn't seem to be hindering the performance much. Will it bug you to look through the table and see it a bit askew? I think it will be rather subtle in person. Some folks are just super picky, so I wanted to point it out. The color is quite nice for unheated material. I would just want a reputable lab report stating the stone is not treated and the color is stable (some yellows can fade under certain lighting conditions, which dramatically reduces their value). Good luck!

what are the dimensions? from the pics I would guess it is on the deep side?

I also agree, something about the cut of the stone seems just "off" in the images -- but if it is quite deep with a small table perhaps that explains it?

Personally I would not buy a step-cut stone that I couldn't/wouldn't return, without being quite certain the cut is symmetrical.

I think it's a design highlight.
