Three stone ring double or single halo?

I bought the main stone and some 1.6mm melees a couple of years ago with the intention of making a double halo ring down the track.

Recently I spied these beautiful pear side stones in Yvonne’s shop and decided to create a three stone ring, but I still love the idea of a double halo.

The problem being my finger size is not big, a size 5 or 5.75. Should I abandon double halo and go with single diamond halo?

I don’t want the ring to sit too high and I am aiming for a delicate halo look. Luckily the stones are not deep. Does anyone has any ideas on diamond and Paraiba melee size? Good with visualising proportions?

Main stone is 9mm x 7.5mm
Side stones around 4.9mm x 3mm
I have 1.6mm melees but can get smaller ones if needed.

I feel like it needs a diamond halo however you decide? For the contrast. Cos the 3 stone looks a bit “uniform” based on the pics.

Thanks icy_jade , yes if I’m doing single halo it’ll be diamonds. I’m greedy and want to add a Paraiba outer halo if it’s doable.

I would go with a single diamond halo, because it feels more protective of your paraibas if you accidentally knock the side of the ring against something. Double halo might be too big for your fingers with the pear side stones.

By the way your paraibas look gorgeous!

I agree with single diamond halo with the pear sides. Or a double halo with the larger stone and earrings with the pears? Whatever you decide will be gorgeous. They are so striking I dont think you can make a wrong choice.

And btw, if you decide not to use the paraiba melee, I'll be happy to take them off your hands

I would at least opt for a diamond halo. Would it be nice to do a double halo for the center and a diamond single halo for the sides?

Hi all gemlovers thank you for your votes and suggestions and kind words. Most likely I may have to be realistic and go for a single halo. All of you are good in designing and have great tastes so your thoughts are most appreciated.

Of course the double halo inspiration came from SparkliesLuver , I’m glad you like my stones.

@Mrs_Strizzle Yvonne Raley on Etsy is where I purchased mine from two years ago. She is still selling Paraiba melees so you can definitely ask her regarding stock levels.

@Acinom I hope you are well. I love to double halo but I really like the pears sidestones. Maybe I can get a separate Paraiba band later on, three rows with the Paraiba in the middle row and diamonds for the outer rows?

I couldn’t find a ring with pear shaped stones but here is one with 3 paraibas. Somehow the effect just isn’t so pleasing to the eye? So yeah a classic single diamond halo is my vote.

As for the pears, I think a pair of detachable dangling earrings (set with halo) will be fab.

This is Paraiba heaven. I do agree you should choose this three-stone combination over a solitaire double halo. The side pears are so perfectly matched!

Who says you need to only have one paraiba ring anyway? Maybe you can have the best of both worlds down the road.

I love the oval + 2 side Paraibas. Opulent, but perhaps, as others have mentioned, not too practical.

You know what I always dreamed about? Earrings with two round paraibas on top and hanging pears! I have seen many emerald variations of it, but paraibas would be gorgeous! It will remain a dream.

@Arkteia I like dangly earring too but I have long dark hair so anything small will be lost. Usually I will wear costume earrings. These are tiny pears so can’t turn them into earrings.

Who knows when I’ll have mine made. I have a very bad habit of spending my available money on new gems instead of setting the ones I already own. It could take me years.

My main stone is 1.98 cts. I love my stone but your round and pears are very neon and slightly more greenish and I prefer yours more .
Don’t worry you’ll probably set yours before mine, I’ve had my stone since 2016 and it is still unset.

Thank you for the compliments. My set is definitely more green. Still turquoise but shifting a bit more towards green. That's my favorite color of paraiba tbh, even if it's not considered the ideal. I actually have a quick video clip of them here, if you're interested.

I do like the colour of the rounds and pears more than the bluer stones. I love the video clip!
