So, in December, I took my mom to a Richard Homer gem round table. She picked out these two pink quartz briolettes for us to make matching pendants - we just took them to the jeweler today to be set!

The pics really don''t do them justice. They have a pretty orange-y pinky internal glow that I just adore.

And here is our plan for them - we''re putting one on a 20 inch chain and the other on an 18 so they can be worn together or separately.

And...here's my concave cut blue topaz from artcutgems.com. It's a stunner IRL - I decided on a simple white gold tulip setting for it.

ETA: Pendant! :)

Just one more - I''m so excited for these little projects! Thanks for looking :)

ooooo really pretty pendants!
Those concave cuts are so cool! Lovely color!

Looking forward to seeing the results of your projects. A Richard Homer cut briolette necklace is high on my wishlist.

Your topaz is such a gorgeous color!!

I love the two necklaces together! Are you working with a local QC jeweler?

I was at Lowe''s yesterday and the sales-girl had the coolest sterling silver wide band. I complimented it and she said it was custom made from a local jeweler. Now I keep thinking about it... I wish I would have asked her name so I could investigate it further since I know the jeweler. I guess I''ll have to come up with another reason to visit Lowes and hope she is working! :)

Dancingqueen - Hi! I was at JH Revell for literally 3 hours yesterday. I am SO impressed with them - we were working with Kimberly, who didn''t bat an eye at anything we asked (my mom came to visit for the weekend and FINALLY trusted someone enough to repair her wedding set - there were literally 2 prongs left holding the diamond, so it was in dire need). Kimberly was excellent with diamond/gem education and answered all of our thousand questions about setting our loot. Seems like a very classy operation, they definitely know what they''re doing. I started a wishlist there, too...daaaaangerous.
When you find out about the mysterious Lowes ring, flag me down - I''d love to know who is doing silver around here! Btw, we went to Granite City (I remembered you''d mentioned it in our g2g thread) and it was very good - my mom liked it so much on Friday that she requested to go back for the brunch today. :)

Coatimundi - Thanks! This is my first time putting together something with a colored stone - I can''t wait to see the finished product.

Frekechild - Thanks, also! I can''t wait to see the final pics of your ring. I''d actually had my eye out for a blue zircon, but I saw this online and pounced - I''m with you on the color, I just love the tealy-blue gems.

Fly Girl - Thanks, too! I''m sure they were made with earrings in mind, but we loved the idea of having matching pendants. We almost dibbed a pair of gorgeous lemon ones (I can''t for the life of me remember what the stone was) and then the pink was next. His briolettes were gorgeous - I''d never really considered the cut until I saw them. A necklace with multiples would be stunning!

I do know that the Lowes girl had the ring made at Expressions (in the East Village). I''ve shopped there a few times -- I bought our wedding bands there and also had my grnadmother''s diamond re-set there. I want to find out the girl''s name so I can ask about her specific ring!

GC is one of my fave''s, but my husband is not a big fan of their food. I''ve never been there for brunch, but heard it''s excellent. I''m happy just going for appetizers and cocktails. I love the spinach and artichoke dip!

The 2 pink quartzes are gorgeous. I love that soft glow to them. The blue zircon is very pretty too. Do you mind providing the carat weight and physical dimensions of all the gemstones?

Thanks, Chrono! That''s what we love about them, too - they''re very understated, but the glow really catches the eye. When I took the pics it was one of those gray, icky days, so I really couldn''t get the light behind them that I wanted. Will post better ones when they''re set.

The topaz is 9mm round, I don''t know what that weight is.

My mom has the papers for the quartzes...I''ll find out and post.

Beautiful pendants - you can tell even through the computer screen that they just glow!
