Hi All,

After a lot of research the past week on finding a yellow sapphire and a mounting, I am done! Yesterday on ebay (I know many PSers would not make a large jewelry purchase on ebay) I stumbled across a Tiffany & Co. emerald cut yellow sapphire ring set in platinum with two side baguettes. I don''t know what happened but this ring spoke to me in the wee hours of the morning and I had to have it! So, to make a long story short, my DH has purchased it for me for our two year anniversary this month. I am so excited so see it in person so I thought I would post the photos that were on the auction listing on ebay.

The good news is that I can take the ring to the local Tiffany''s here in Washington, DC and have the ring sized and checked out and also cleaned.

For all you sapphire lovers out there, this one looks like a stunning, unique piece to own!

P.S. It is a 2.0 emerald cut yellow sapphire, eye clean with two very white baguette sidestones, .16 cwt. I emailed back and forth with seller today and she answered all my questions promptly.

I''ll post more photos when the ring arrives next week.

oooooooh a yellow sapphire!!! Yum Yum!!!

Congrats on the purchase!!!

Cant wait to see the real pics!

Thanks! I originally wanted a light to medium yellow cushion cut 2.0+ carat sapphire mounted in a micropave halo setting. I was soooooo determined to design that ring last week. I had been corresponding with Steven Bliss at Natural Sapphire Company about the stone and possible mounting purchase and also with Bob Haskins at Whiteflash about purchasing the Legato mounting for a sapphire. Both of these gentlemen were wonderfully responsive and answered all my questions and made wonderful suggestions regarding the design of the ring. I highly recommend both Whiteflash and Natural Sapphire Company!!!

However, in the end, I wanted a ring that said WOW! Hopefully I found it. I am one of those gals who loves Tiffany''s and the little blue box! I inheirited my great grandmother''s engagement ring which was purchased from T & Co. in 1905. It is a six stone oval blue sapphire platinum ring surrounded by a halo of sparkling diamonds. The ring also came with the story about how my great grandfather took the train to NYC to purchase the ring in the early 1900''s. Now, I have my own Tiffany''s ring but without a romantic story (I wouldn''t call buying a ring on ebay romantic!).

Stayed tuned next week and I''ll post some photos of my own when the ring arrives.
