Hello, hope everyone is having a great close to the year.

I first discovered this forum and created a post about buying my engagement ring and had the most positive experience here so thought id come back to ask for some more help =)2.

Original post for reference... https://www.pricescope.com/communit...ance-on-getting-the-best-for-my-money.182939/

We here we are 10 years since original post and 8 years of marriage with a 1-1/2 year old son and starting to think of upgrades from our original diamond.

Thanks to the helpfulness of this forum i was able to get a fantastic diamond for my moneyKaty Ring.jpg 1.01 I VVS2 cushion, my wife still loves it to this day but has hinted at an upgrade...

Looking to size up to a 2 carat (+ or -) cushion with about a 10-15k budget for the stone alone, we did go with James Allen on the first go around so don't mind looking at what they have in stock as it was a smooth experience and great value.

Lots of choices on JA now, but want to use my ASET's wisely.

The first Cushion i purchased was a reference from Gypsy, she was so helpful and really pointed me in the direction of a stone that has an amazing sparkle and brilliance that makes it look like it should have cost twice what i paid for it.

Happy holidays to you all, and appreciate all your help!

What are the specs you are hoping to stay in I/VS or better ?

Can you post a copy of the report for the stone you have since you like it? I'd like to see the faceting pattern on it.

tyty333, had to dig through what i have available on my email and believe this is the GIA report for the current diamond. As far as specs goes size and sparkle for the dollar is a good start, looks like the original stone faces up pretty big for a single carat stone so would be looking to find something similar. Since budget is a bit better than the first go around would like to maximize as best i can. Thanks!

Started looking at some options, how does the below stones look to the group?

Haven't looked at Whiteflash or Good Old Gold, any other vendors i should be searching through?

Interesting...you have an 8 main with the mains offset from center.

I will give you my* opinion...others may differ (so get other opinions)

Stone 1
4 main crushed ice - quite different from what you have. I'm* not a fan personally
Stone 2
4 main - a little leakage around the edge of the table (can you see what I mean?)
Stone 3
4 main crushed ice...not a fan. Looks like a lot of gray "mushy" areas (leakage) under the table
Stone 4 (2.09)
8 main - a little closer to what you have. You have to be ok with the 4 arrows showing up dark. Shrink it down closer to real size
and watch it spin. See what you think
Stone 5
Another 8 main...I prefer the look of the 2.09 over this one.

Thanks for the information i am still learning a lot and am looking at your comments to identify these characteristics of the stones.

I do like the 8 main cushion, i think i will try to keep my selection with those.

Do you have any suggestions on other stones i may not have seen yet?

Will keep looking, JA does make it easy with actual pictures of the stones, not stock images.

Thanks for your help so far!

A few to check out...most of them are 4 mains though. I cant really say any stand out more than the other. Really depends on the look
you're going for (what faceting pattern you like and what shape you want). Some are a little less than 2 carats.

Here is a fun tool to show you the size difference between your wife's current stone and the size of a new stone.

This was the 2.01 I/VVS2 I posted. Its defaulting (on my laptop) to a size 6 1/2 finger with a 3mm shank but you can change that to
what you want/need.
