Timing of Invitations

Wow, things are really starting to move along and i really have to get back into the mode of wedding planning. i took a bit of a hiatus there for a while...

question:

if invitations are supposed to go out approximately 8 weeks before the event -- when do set the reply by ___ date?

I appreciate all the bridal knowledge!

Because we have SO MANY people from out of town coming, we are sending out our invitations 2 or 3 months before the wedding and we requested they reply by a month before the wedding. We have to have final numbers two weeks before the wedding so that gives another two weeks for slow mail and calling those who haven''t replied yet.

Same here - sending 2 mos. before wedding & asking for reply a month before wedding, then will have a couple of weeks to call those who do not reply... in order to have a head count two weeks prior...

We requested they send back the RSVP card by 3 weeks prior to the wedding.
