Otherwise, I don''t like the hue.

Hi DiaGem,

I love oranges, almost all colors of colored diamonds really.

Could be the lighting, but does the one you posted have a touch of brownish?

kroshka

to my eye, many color stones appear brownish. of course, the champagnes and cognacs are supposed to but. even the pinks to my eye....unless the really pink and very expensive per carat ones. on my monitor this stone looks more yellow and brown. i''d also expect a yellow diamond to have brown aspects unless i was paying the ultra high price for an absolute pure color diamond.

no matter the color: do you like it? i''m into orange in a big way but went with an orange spessartite. i''d encourage you to go orange!

ps is the stone irradiated to get the color or is it a natural?

An extremely rare but regular (not cut for color) MQ brilliant cut, GIA Natural Fancy Deep Orange---VS2...

Yes..., the image does not complement the true color as in real life...., it looks a bit more reddish!!!

I have four more being graded by GIA as I write these lines..., but its a crap shoot with GIA these days!

I think..., orange Diamonds are still under-exposed...

OOoooOOooooo...... scutterbotch!

That's a magnificent example of what it is, but it wouldn't be among my top choices for a colored diamond.

I think this would be my line up:

Pink - any variety of good pink

White

Blue

Yellow

Green

Red

Purple

Olive

Orange

Cognac/Champagne

Brown

Grey

storm loves orange diamonds!
someday I want too have one!

Beautiful. Just beautiful. I would like that set with deep blue sapphires.... I''m a Gator

Orange is one of my favorite colors and Orange diamonds are absolutely yummy!

(FWIW, I''m not a fan of all colors of diamonds, so aside from orange, I''d only consider a red one or of course, a colorless)

Gator....?

I thought you were a LegacyGirl?

May I ask which Legacy?

Honestly?

I love orange. Orange bedroom, orange wedding... orange clothes, I even have orange shoes.

Not into the orange diamonds. There are so many lovely orange colored STUNNING gems I''d rather have that probably cost less. Spess for example. I have orange spinels I adore (and need to get set), and so forth. Plus that one is looking like an orangy citrine, and I personally wouldn''t want a diamond that looked like a semi precious, no matter how much I love citrines (and I do, I almost bought one last Sunday, but had to remind myself I''m on a budget). So, I vote no on the orange diamonds.

I like orange diamonds. And yellow diamonds, brown diamonds, green diamonds, even irradiated blue diamonds. Oh, and just about every shade of colorless and near colorless white diamonds.

I love color and sparkle.

Thanks for sharing.

I really don''t like anything in orange so I''d have to say "no" even to an orange diamond

I wouldn't kick it out of bed...no.

It is more reddish/orange in real life, you say?

More of a Blood Orange?

Yah then!

No, not really.

I love orange, but I think there''s a better & less expensive way to do an orange. JMO.

HI:

Yum, orange is good......

cheers--Sharon

I love orange as a colour - but there is only one orange diamond I have seen that I really liked.

The Orange Flame - 3.23ct vivid yellow orange.

I saw it in person at the Natural History Museum Diamond Exhibition in London in 2005 - just before they shut it due to a planned robbery. It was an amazing exhibition - and this one really took my eye. The photo doesn''t begin to show how gorgeous it was.

To be honest I''d probably go for an amazing spess over an orange diamond.

If I was buying a coloured diamond, I''d like a 1.5ct chocolate brown cognac rb please. I saw one in De Beers before xmas and can''t get it out of my head - even they said they''d never seen one that good, with such perfect colour saturation before. It looked good enough to eat!

Pandora, that orange you posted is to die for!

I believe it''s the finest one known!

What is everyones opinion on the orange colored Diamonds?

Dear DiaGem,

This is my first visit and first post on this forum. I have been reading it off and on all day. I am a big fan of the Legacy modified cushion cut at Tiffany. I first saw the stone in 2004 I believe in Houston. I have wanted one ever since. I am an IP lawyer so I knew that it was subject to a design patent and that it is quite unlike any other cushion cut stone. I read with great interest your knowledge of the legacy cut and its origins. I have to ask: Are you the patent holder? I suspect you might be based on your knowledge of the stone, starting at a rather early date. I read the design patent earlier this week and then the case law on it. If you are the designer, I have to tell you that your work is second to none. Oh, and by the way, the reason I am writing all this is b/c I finally got my own Legacy ring this week in celebration of my ten year anniversary and 40th birthday. Thank you for all your great posts. I know I am not posting all this on the right forum, but I just wanted to find a recent post by you so that I could be sure to get your attention. My apologies for posting on the wrong thread (ie colored gem stones). Oh, and in answer to your question: No I do not care for orange diamonds. :-)

I hate to say it but I'm not a fan of orange in general, although I wouldn't have to admit that I'm not completely adverse to any colors, except that I can't wear brown at all. But I would buy a blue diamond in a heartbeat. Orange, probably last on my list...

I love orange diamonds I have seen only seen one IRL and it is OMG TDF I want it but I am sure it was way out of my budget (around about the colour of the one Pandora posted but a radiant cut).

I quite like the hue of the one you posted Diagem it has a beautiful warmth to it :).

I would''ve said no, until I saw this

So yes, I would make an acception for this 3.70ct fancy vivid yellow orange
