Looks like Tom Cruise and Kat(i)e Holmes had their baby! With all the jokes and whatnot, I do hope her delivery went well and their baby is healthy.

In an ironic twist, Brooke Shields had her baby on the same day!

Now, any guesses on Tom and Katie''s new baby''s name? Do you think it''ll be normal or really out there?

Has America tired of Tom Cruise?

The charged-up, couch-hopping star made headlines, but didn''t draw much of a crowd for a hyped ABC News interview addressing rumors about his then pending child with fiancee Katie Holmes.

The Primetime special, airing last Friday, placed an unspectacular 48th in the latest Nielsen Media Research rankings.

Numbers-wise, 7 million watched Diane Sawyer''s sit-down with Cruise, an actor who is regarded as the biggest movie star in the world. By comparison, 7.3 million tuned into ABC last month to see Barbara Walters chat up Macaulay Culkin, an actor who is regarded as being a good 12 years past his hit-making prime.

In the Sawyer interview, Cruise denied Holmes had been fitted with a pacifier in order to ensure the so-called "silent birth" preferred by Scientologists.

Cruise, 43, and Holmes, 27, welcomed their first child together on Tuesday. Next up, Cruise will await the May 5 arrival of Mission: Impossible 3. Presumably, he hopes America has rested up for him by the time launches the media blitz for that film.

well if she really did have the kid a few weeks ago or a month or whatever and it''s not his, then now would be a good time for the baby to be born...it would be old enough for them to take it to premieres? that would almost guarantee extra publicity as everyone would be dying to see the miracle baby.

I've seen photos of Katie pregnant where some of her baby belly was exposed. To all those who don't believe she is really pregnant, then all I can say, the photos must have either been digitally manipulated or she had one very authentic prosthesis.

Does anyone know if Suri is pronounced as 'Surrey' or 'Soory'

If the dad is other than Tom, you can bet he was paid for his silence...I am sure they would not want him blabbing. I also kept hearing it was a boy...how odd. I thought they had finite proof it was ...I just think he is CREEPY and I feel sorry for her. He is becoming like Michael Jackson to me!

I do find the timing rather suspicious as well. Especially after Tom said in a recent article that they were thinking of a late summer wedding, but hadn''t decided anything b/c they would be too busy thinking about the baby and the movie. Haha, I heard one newscast where they were pronouncing it ''Surrey'' and saying "the name means ''blah blah'' in Hebrew, ''blah blah'' in Persian... and also means four-wheeled horse drawn buggey for two in Oklahoma" (said with a pinch of sarcasm

). I giggled, but I suspect it is more like Soory/Sue - ry (with the lightly rolled ''r'' it sounds quite pretty).

Well, I''m sure Tom has her on a strict regimen of vitamins to avoid that sort of thing, hee hee. (I think I remember him stating that vitamins were kind of the "cure-all" when the whole Brooke Shields and prescription drugs controversy was brought up.)

I really hope that Suri lives a happy, healthy life, and receives all the love in the world even though her ?parents? are a little wacko.

Top Gun (I used to watch this over and over and over when I was 12-13)

Can't believe that back in 1997 I had a life sized poster of him (from Jerry Maguire) up on my wall. I worked at blockbuster video and all us girls fought over that poster and I won it. Now, I think he is completely off his rocker. I used to like Katie too but what kind of woman would go along with all that?

I'm pretty liberal in general, so this comment is a little out of character for me, but I don't understand the rash of celebrity pregnancies followed by (or preceeded by) engagement. If they plan to get married, why not do it before junior is born? I don't get it, and I think it sets a poor example.

I still feel badly for the child.. and.. I dont think its ''HIS'' specifically.. I think it was a planned baby.. And I still haven''t changed my mind about his being a freak.. or her now for that matter.

It means Red Rose in Persion (sp).

I 100% agree with this. There were too many rumors going around years ago that he was unable to have children because he was sterile. Which was why his marriage to Mimi Rogers failed and why him and Nicole Kidman adopted (according to rumors). I think he is certifiably crazy AND I don''t expect the marriage to actually happen. Everytime I''ve heard them speak of one another, they say the same things ''She''s magnificant!'' ''He''s great, I''m so happy'' (or whatever robotic thing she says everytime).
