Would it be better for the recessional? You can preview the song with the buttom on the right of the screen.

http://otopocean.com/mp3/track/13755/75223/873399/ It''s very middle eastern and reminds me of the music I heard growing up. All instrumental.

I''m looking for really different music for the processional and recessional... have IPOD at work. Going through options idly while drafting and revising millions of contracts.

I LOVE IT! It''s fantastic!

REALLY? For the which do you think? Processional or Recessional?

I think it would be great as the processional. To me, it sounds very whimsical and mysterious.

I think for the recessional, you should find something with a more "triumphant" sound, if that makes sense?

As an anthropologist, I love world music and would love to incorporate it into my wedding, too.

YAY! Ok. I've been looking and looking for years. And well, today I put my ipod on and it felt perfect.

It's weird that it sometimes, and for the first time, I feel things clicking into place. Hopefully the trend continues.

Thank you Misy. Your input was invaluable ((HAPPY HUG).

No problem! Glad I could help. I think it will be great! I hope the rest of the planning keeps clicking into place! Do you have any ideas for the recessional?

Nope. Any suggestions TOTALLY welcome. Would love something different that the usual choices though.

Sorry to be the dissenter, but I think it would be better as the recessional because of the speed. I thought to myself "how would I walk to this?", then I played the preview and tried. It made me want to walk fast. Walking slower didn't match the song.

Its a great song to incorporate into your wedding. You don't have to walk slowly during the recessional so I think it would be perfect there. I think you should take your time walking up the aisle so that eveyone can get a good look at fabulous you.

ETA: but if you put it on your ipod and walked, and it worked, then go for it! I only heard the 30sec clip so maybe I didn't get the full effect.

That''s the ONE reason I thought processional. It starts slower, but kicks it up a notch.

DO I need different music for the attendant and parent procession? Any suggestions? Again, not the usual suspects, please.

Ah, okay. Looks like you have a winner then!

Eek! Hope we didn''t confuse you now that there''s two different opinions. You may need to walk it out to decide where it goes...I think it''d be great for either.

As for the rest goes, if you want to stay in the world music vein (you may or may not), I can think about it for a while and get back to you...

Instrumentals? Fast or slow?

Instrumentals? Fast or slow? FAST and Truimphant, and couple nice slow ones. Not sure which way this one is gonna swing. Plus need something for BM's and parents to walk to.
I like a lot of song from Cirque Du Soleil a lot of them use world themes.

Icare won't work by them, I just walked to it.

Oh and I walked to Akta, Reccession. Goldenstar is right. Can't walk slow to it. THANK YOU BOTH. Any suggestions welcome.

love teh music...i think it could work for a processional...i can see a slow mysterious walk.....very dramatic. are you doing anyhting that kind of ties in that world theme? i would sya that as a guest i would be puzzled hearing that music if everything else was classic white bread america...you know what i mean?

you don''t have to have different music for the attendant and you, but it''s recommended so that guests here a change and realize something''s up...YOU! SO they need to snap to so they can properly oooh and aaah you down the aisle

i agree with the recessional needing to sound more joyful.

so happy for you thaqt things are coming together!

Off the top of my head, you may wanna check out Babatunde Olatunji. You can listen to him here. I like the track #2, "oya".

You may also want to check out Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole. I know some folks on PS have used his version of "Over the Rainbow," but he has some great traditional Hawaiian sounds, also.

How about Gipsy Kings, #2, "Moorea"? here

ETA: Also listen to "El Sopon de Yuya" by Edesio. I found it on the "World Groove" album put out by Putumayo.
Ohoh!! Also "Santa Maria (Del Buen Ayre)" by Gotan Project!
Oh! Also, anything by Habib Koite on his albums "Ma Ya" and "Muso Ko". He's great.

First thing I"m gonna do tonight. I can't do it from work. Thanks so much for the suggestions.

Anything with a middle eastern vibe is awesome too.

Ginger. There will be aspects of my culture at the wedding. There will be persian music played. There will be the traditional persian bridal table set out (but in a non-traditional way), my favors are from Iran and really lovely. I will be using lots of roses as they are traditional and preferred persian bridal flowers.

But I'm American. My descent is persian. So the wedding is going to be largely reflective of that. John is of italian decent so we are incorporating that into the food and a couple of other things. So... we're blending. It's more of a mixing bowl then a melting pot.
