It''s been a bad day. For one, my student''s been sick but the doctor doesn''t know what''s wrong. I don''t know how much is actually medical and how much isn''t. He''s been much more OCD than usual, which can be a little tiring constantly reassuring and redirecting (and I''m not upset with or blaming him at all... it''s just tiring).

My car is having the same problem I had before... around 45-50mph it starts shaking. The mechanic said it was an "out of round" tire. The tire guys said it was in the frame. The mechanic checked again and again said "out of round." Tire guys checked again, said it was the frame (or something I don''t remember) but put hub centric rings on anyway. I thought it kinda helped, but now it''s doing it again. UGH.

I really need car expenses to wait until after the wedding.
15.gif
Not to mention the stress over worrying about finances for the wedding... enough to thin out my hair because it''s falling out. Luckily, I have a lot to spare.
40.gif

So then today I find out the worst- one of our students is being sexually molested. It''s something we wondered about but CPS can''t move on what we think might be happening, so now that there''s something to go on they are going to do something. So, that''s just utterly turned my stomach inside out and I want to beat someone down! Though, I do hope and pray both get the help they need.

Then I talked to a boss at my interpreting job about being so discouraged about how slow drastic improvement is taking. She reassured me not to be discouraged and another boss had said that I''m exactly where I should be having just graduated... but still. I just wish I was doing better.
39.gif

So then I get home and see some dust and particles at the seam of the roof and wall of the room add-on... in the same location I heard scratching for a couple nights. I had gone outside when I heard the scratching but couldn''t see anything. I sprayed the roof with water to scare away whatever it was. Obviously, it got IN the roof!

We have lots of squirrels, an occassional possum, a rare racoon but never a rat.
14.gif
I don''t know what it is (too small to be a racoon and too big to be a mouse), but I do hope the exterminator that''s coming tomorrow afternoon does whatever he does as humanely as possible. The idea of an animal suffering is sad regardless of the type of animal.
15.gif
So yeah, that''s another expense.

So now I have a horrid headache and have to leave in a bit to interpret an English class. Head.going.to.ex.plode.

Okay, I''m done whining... I think I''m entitled to a whine now and then, right?

I''m just feeling down. I think I need to dance around in some PS fairy dust and stand on some PS prayers.
Uhhuh.gif

I''m sorry you''ve had it rough

Soooo sorry, Hugs and PS dust for you. Do you think it may be that your car needs to have the tires alignment?

I''m sorry to hear about your rubbish day. Sending lots of hugs and booze!

yikes... and I thought I had a bad day because I couldn''t fit into my favorite jeans!

Feeling for you, hon. All the best getting through these dramas...

Ouch that''s a lot of stuff to deal with in one day Sera! Take care of yourself

Do something nice for yourself to replenish your resources. That is a lot to deal with at one time-one of your students suffering and dealing with the animal situation in your home and car troubles. We are sending positive energy your way.

I was thinking this too. My car needs the wheels balanced and it makes it shake.

This is what I was thinking as well. It makes a huge difference. Also, your brakes can cause a bit of vibration if they need replacing. Lastly, check your wheels. A bent wheel frame could cause this. What kind of car is it? (kind of a car nerd, sorry.)

I hope that your days get better soon.

I have a 1990 240sx. It''s old, but I love it.

I had new tires and rims, so they were balanced then. With the shaking, I had them balanced again and they put the hub centric rings. Both the mechanic and tire guys had checked the brakes, and they are fine. It wasn''t doing it badly today.

After a bit I''ve got to clear out my closet so the exterminator can get under the house through the closet... for a millisecond I almost regreted buying so many shoes over the years. I was actually planning on pulling out all the shoes, reorganizing and donating some... so... I just gotta do that tonight, lol. And then leave them out until they are done here.

The orange tree was trimmed back (apparently how the creature made it onto the roof). A metal band will be put around the bottom of the tree and the hole in the roof sealed. So, the exterminator will be $500+ (not an outrageous amount, I guess, but I could certainly think of better things to spend on $500).

I still have a headache (luckily not a full-blown migraine) but I''m a little less upset today. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers... it helped. (Love the PS dust storm

When you got the new tires, did you get an alignment? That would be my next bet if you didn''t. Is this a new vibration or has it always kinda been there? The next few things that it could be are either expensive (eg. suspension) or non-repairable (eg. crank walk).

Sera, I''m sorry so many things have cropped up. I felt the same last week! Number one: love your avatar, number two: things should improve soon, number three: I really admire your strength regarding your students. My husband is a teacher, and if it were me, I''d probably have all the neglected students (and there are a few) to our house for dinner, even though I know it''s against the law. I really admire all teachers and aides, and counselors. I know nothing about cars (don''t even drive yet), but hopefully the cause is found soon, and at little expense. Wedding planning is tough work, atop working and home dramas, I wish you the best of luck.

Yup, had an alignment. It''s a relatively new developement... and I don''t recall when it appeared in relation to getting the new tires. The struts were recently replaced, brakes are okay, *shrugs* I wish I knew about car stuff. I do hope it''s not something super expensive or non-repairable as I do want to keep my car even after getting a new one. I still see a lot of these cars on the road... I just love it :)

TY. (I saw that avatar online and it cracked me up... being a girly-girl I definitely like my frosting and sprinkles

)The kids are really a joy to work with. I felt bad because I had to skip work today- when I called the teacher to remind her of something she told me my sub was having a very, very bad day with my student. With the last sub they sent my student home after a couple hours- hopefully he stayed longer today.

Well, I stayed up alllllllllllll night last night because of the thing in the attic. Since the orange tree branches were cut away from the roof it couldn''t get down... so it was scratching and biting trying to find another way down. It likely would have gnawed a hole right through the ceiling!

The exterminator came and put tin around the bottom of the orange tree... not very attractive, but then neither is a creature in an attic! Any holes that something could get through were patched. The traps are set with chocolate macadamia nuts- that should work! He will check the traps tomorrow. Meanwhile, I am surrounded by shoebox towers.

So, things are better (as I knew they would be)- it just helps to be able to vent a bit about it sometimes (especially since 99.9% of what I should vent about, I don''t). So, thanks for letting me vent. :)

I love my car too (2000 Celica) so trust me, I understand. If the tire is rounded out and you just purchased them, then I would suggest taking your car back and asking them to put a new tire on (under warranty) because it shouldn''t round out unless it was a bad tire when it was put on. As for the centric rings, they do help, but I think that they semi disguise the problem. When you have the balance done, ask for a dynamic balance instead of a static balance. Also, ask for a road force balance.
