Hi Girls..

My sister and i went to the bridal salon last night so I could show her my dress. She wasn''t able to come to the first appointment and since she could NOT wait until it came in in July, she wanted to se it NOW !!!!

We walked into the salon and when the consultant took "my dress" off the rack, I really didn''t feel anything.... I was excited to put it on, NOTHING....

I just thought maybe it was because I have had it on soooo much, so I took the dresss into the dressing room and put the dress on. My sister waited in the front of the salon because she wanted to wait until I was IN the dress, not being zipped, clamped, etc....

I came out in the dress and when I looked at myself I felt NOTHING....

I didn''t LOVE it, not at all..... In fact, I am not sure I even LIKED it.....

My sister was speechless, loved it and said it was not at all what she expected.... to be honest, it is not at all what I expected I would buy either...

But I did at some point love it.... I think.......

Is this normal ????????????????????????

Did I make a mistake ?????

Is it normal to second guess your dress ????

Should I cancel my order ?????

PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!

I think it''s normal to second guess it. I would get some unbiased opinions...like us! We''ll be happy to tell you if it isn''t flattering or if it''s all in your head.

But based on your friend''s reaction (assuming she''s a friend that would be honest with you), it sounds like she loved it!

Thanks Neatfreak !!!!

Posting some pics may be a good idea... I have them on my computer, just need to resize them and then I will post them ASAP !!!!

I hope it's normal... looking at the pictures of my dress, I haven't fallen out of love with it, but I have fallen out of love with it on me. I think a big part of that is that the one I first tried on was in my size, while the one I tried on at a different shop (and took pictures of) was at least 3 sizes too big.

Anyway... could something like this be the case with your dress? Or maybe you were feeling less than glamorously beautiful on that particular day? Had you done your hair/makeup differently than on the day you chose it?

Can't wait for pics!

I am crossing my fingers for you too Musey, because like you, I have fallen out of love with the dress on ME, not the dress itself...

I love your dress and thought and still do think you looked so beautiful in the gown you posted.... I hope you feel better about your gown as well..

I never realized how emotional a wedding dress could be !!!!!!!!

I think it''s beautiful, girl! I''d keep it, no questions! Trust yourself!

I can''t see it!

Darn it.

Sorry Gypsy !!!!!

Is there any other way I can post pics ???

All the one''s on my computer are too big.....

I think there''s SO much importance (these pictures are for the REST of our lives, for goodness sakes!) and value ($$$$
32.gif
) tied up in these dresses, that it''s hard to just relax and find something you truly love. Any tiny problem becomes almost a deal-breaker (even if it''s fixable--like the wrong size, of all things!).

Anyway, with all those factors (PMS, not feeling "pretty", too-small size) I am SURE that you will love it. Just trust your first wonderful experience, not the day that you felt poopy!!

Oh oh, just saw the pics! Stop worrying, it's gorgeous.

ETA: do you want me to post some? Just say the word!
EaTA: Just saw that angel did already!

It''s beautiful and looks beautiful on you! I wouldn''t change a thing! I think it''s totally normal! I think with any decision in life we are always like.."hmm what if there''s something better out there" or "hmm maybe I dont like this as I did before"
I bet if you had to choose all over again you''d pick the same one!
I''m sure I will be the same way. I''m like that now with purses I buy!

I hope you don''t mind but I posted one of you for Gypsy to see!

Awwww thanks Angel and Gypsy !!!!!

And thank you for posting the pics..... YEEES, post them all if you would like !!!!!!!!

I just want to be as beautiful as I can for him on our day..... maybe I am worrying and stressing about it too much.... and yeah, hormones play a HUGE role as does one''s idea and level of importance when it comes to "THE DRESS".... it is and always has been a HUGE deal to me....

You girls are the best....

THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angel, you are tooo funny..... I am the EXACT SAME.... shoes, purses, wedding dresses, etc, etc..... there really needs to be a support group !!!

Is it supposed to zip all the way up when it''s in the right size? I think that the "deep V" it has in these pics is really pretty!!

I can see how feeling PMSy and bloaty would NOT work in this dress. It''s absolutely beautiful, and once you''re back to your normal comfortable self, I''m sure you''ll fall back in love.

It is supposed to zip up and normally would fall at mid back, striaght across.

In these pics, she placed the sides of the back of the dress as they are because I took 3-4 inches off the dress from centre back to give it the deep vback look it has in these pictures...

I loooove a deep back and so does my FI....

I am so glad you noticed that Musey and thinks it looks okay !!!!!!

The back is my favorite....

What did you think of the pics with the deep vback with the veil.... I think they are closer to the end ???

I may buy that veil.....

I think it is a great dress and you will be a beautiful bride wearing it!

I think you should go try it on again on a "skinny" day (I know I have skinny/fat days, I assume others do to
2.gif
)
Spend a little extra time on your hair and make-up so you feel like you look your best.
THEN go try it on again and see if you feel better about it

Good Luck!

Here's the deep v back with the veil... I think it's to-die-for! Forget the straight-across back!

The deep v back with that veil is breathtaking.... It is so nice to see pics on here and hear what others, besides family and friends think... they are sooo biased, but in a GOOD WAY !!!!

I feel better today, much better than yesterday... so thank you....

We should really talk more about this support group idea.... we *may* be onto something....

I''ll bring the wine !!!!!!!!

I think it looks GREAT on you!!!!!!!!!!!

I also love the deep V...Beautiful!

I think it is normal...it''s harder to commit to the dress than it is to commit to the guy, isn''t it?..hehe

You look beautiful!!!

Totally agree with you on the deep V back-it looks amazing!

I''m with Musey - I hope it''s normal. My dress hasn''t come in yet but whenever I see another dress that I really like I start to second guess my decision. In fact I have to limit my time on the "Brides World Wide" forum on here because I can''t look at too many other girls'' dresses, I''ll lose my mind.

I think you should just remember that you fell in love with it before and there was a reason that you did. You went with your gut when you ordered it and usually that first instinct turns out to be the right one. If you cancelled your order now you might just end up looking at other dresses and comparing them to this one.

I could be totally off the mark, but either way its your decision, darling. You need to feel lovely in the dress. Good luck.

I''ve never seen that forum before...hmm I''m off to wander!

ohh BECG, I LOVE the dress. The back is beautiful, and I adore it with the veil. I think it''s a great shape, and it is so different! I think the "Blah" feelings will pass.

I had a semi freak out moment about my own dress, but it turns out it was just one of those things that happens any time you make a big decision. Sometimes you just start thinking "what if this is all wrong?" As it turned out, the day of the wedding, I loved my dress again, and I wanted to wear it forever (okay, maybe not forever, but for as long as possible) I think that when the day arrives, you will feel fabulous in it.

First of all I think you look absolutely stunning!!! It''s incredible on you! You are simply gorgeous! (Can I borrow your hair for my wedding??
2.gif
)

Can I ask when you''re getting married??? You said it should be coming in July (so you''ve already ordered it????) so I''m assuming you would be getting it in a few months before your wedding....

The reason I ask is it seems on PS there are many brides who second guess their dresses....that have bought them on the "early" side of ordering them. (I think rule of thumb is 6-8 months for bridal gown? At least this is what I was told????) Anyway, trying on and purchasing "THE DRESS" is one of the most exciting things in the planning of the wedding.... and some of us jump in head first, and do this right away. Then later..... not so sure about our choice. Find one we like better...etc, etc. There seems to be a lot of brides who are trying to sell their "first dresses" I, luckily, did not have to go through the hassle of selling a dress. But I had "the dress" on hold (just waiting for the sale to start the next week) and happened to be in another city with 2 of my BM looking for BM dresses. They wanted me to put on a dress in ivory to see how their dresses looked next to mine. And wouldn''t you know, a dress I literally just pulled off a rack to see how colors would look is THE ONE. Totally random, but I never realized until I found "the dress" how I was kind of settling for the other one. Anyway....

My advice to you would be to try on other dresses. Besides the fact that this is soooooo fun
2.gif
it might lead you to either A)realize you were having a bad day and fall in love with your dress all over again OR (B) you might find something else. This will totally suck as if you did purchase dress there is the money issue and trying to sell first dress. However, at least there will be no regrets and on your wedding day you will never second guess yourself! JMO! Good Luck!
