Trillion tourmaline

So I was lucky enough to get the trillion tourmaline from mastercutgems (super sparkly!) and I was thinking of setting it similar to Distracts' ring (https://img0.etsystatic.com/013/0/5510916/il_570xN.415164344_57j4.jpg) but I was wondering if it matches my other tourmaline well enough as I'd like to set that into a pendant and wear them together. Or do you guys think I should do it the other way round and have the trillion in a pendant and emerald cut in a ring? Thanx in advance!

Tough one!

Personally, I do not believe a brilliant cut and a step cut would work that well when worn together as a pendant.

Both look very nice on their own. However, the brilliant cut trillion outshines the EC when they are together, and does not do the EC justice.

If they were mine, I would sent the EC as a ring, and pair the trillion with a pear-shaped CS in another colour and set as a pendant (top part pointing downwards).

Oh I meant they would be set separately but I'm hesitating which one to put in a ring and which in a pendant, but the trillion with pear shaped CS sounds lovely Dk! What colour would you pick to complement the tourmaline?

I personally would go for a pale pink stone myself, have a look in the Tourmaline sold gemstone gallery on Jeff White's site, where one can find a gorgeous bi-colour blue/pink EC Tourmaline that I love:

Another combination that I saw recently and liked, but not for me as I cannot wear yellow, is bluey/green with yellow. I'll see if I can find that thread.

In that thread, the yellow beryl is an EC and is significantly smaller compared with the pear, and it works well together for me.

It's so hard to decide since I quite like both pale pink and yellow ideas...
