St. Lucia is totally in the projected path! I think I''m going to cry

oh no!!
i''m so freakin'' tired of hurricanes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i could scream!
urgh.

What ever happened to St. Lucia being in the "safe" zone??? I thought hurricanes rarely ever even come close to it!

Oh NO!! Let's hope it dies out a little before it hits land... that would take a lot of finger-crossing!!

I need all the finger crossing and fairy dust I can get. We''re supposed to leave on 9/9. Sumbride''s going there for her honeymoon too.

Ugh!!!

Go NORTH, DEAN!!! GO NORTH!!!

I just looked up the hurricane guarantee and it''s "while you''re a guest" not "right before you get here and it destroys the pool". darn. I''m right there with you Robbie... let''s tell this little guy to go somewhere else!!! My balance is due next week!

. We have the insurance. I wonder what that covers...

I went to the Grenadines which is even further south in 2005. It had a hurricane come very close days before we arrived and we actually flew out the day Emily was arriving. (It was really cool to see the swirls of clouds as the plane lifted off but also kind of scary with the wind).

A lot can change when they are still this far out! If nothing else, this one is not very strong so the damage should be minimal.

Ok, this was all I could find on the insurance policy:

Plan Coverage & Policy
For only $99 per Adult ($109 from 12/22-12/31/07 and 12/22-12/31/08), you can purchase our comprehensive travel protection plan. This plan protects against cancellation penalties if the trip is cancelled for any reason prior to departure. Plus, it also covers trip interruption, baggage, medical expenses and other problems that may occur after departure.

There was a "click here for more info" link, but it wasn''t working. It sounds like we can cancel for any reason and not be out any money so I guess if Sandals gets pretty messed up we at least won''t be out our money.

That sounds like it. I think you''ll be ok. We didn''t opt for the insurance, so I''ll just have to hope for the best!

NO NO NO No no no...

Arghh.. cant you ladies wish for it to DISAPPEAR.. Not to go North???

If it goes NORTH.. I''m gonna get wiped off the map!!!! seriously.. DISAPPEAR... go away.. disentagrate...but

DONT GO SOUTH.. and DONT GO NORTH...

arghhh!!!

Sooo freakin sad right now... this week is gonna SUCK...

Fingers crossed for good weather on your honeymoons Robbie and Sum!

Sorry Jaders!!

Come on Dean.. DISAPPEAR!!! Go AWAY!!! VANISH!!! POOF!!!

Thanks Sum..

I totally rooting for you guys.. and St. Lucia.. I dont want it to get battered... and I dont want to get battered.. especially NOW, seeing as how I am going to have to stick it out on the island if it does turn my way...

ughh.. I just want to cry!

Jaders, I can''t remember, where are you at? Barbados?

Robbie:

I''m in Turks and Caicos...

Seriously you guys, I wouldn''t worry about it. Hurricanes are SO unpredicable. They weeble and wobble all over the place.

Take it from me who two years ago boarded up my whole house, created a "safe room" in the closet under my stairs and bought every canned good I could get my hands on only for Hurricane Rita to turn around before getting to Houston.

Every news channel thought we were doomed.

At least I wasn''t one of the thousands who tried to leave the city!

Oh no!!! I really hope it works out for both of you Robbie and Sumbride. Robbie, after all you''ve been through to book your honeymoon, I''m praying it''s going to be okay.

My SIL''s parents tried... but their RV ran out of gas about an hour outside of Conroe. That''s how long they were sitting there!!!

Oh I hope it works out for everyone!

I am thinking good thoughts for all of you. I just saw the projected path on Good Morning America
7.gif
Hopefully it loses steam soon. What is going on with the weather in this world???

I hope this works out-
dang weather

I''m not sure if I just got it wrong yesterday or if it was upgraded to a hurricane after the fact, but apparently it is a hurricane and this is from weather.gov this morning:

A HURRICANE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE ISLANDS OF DOMINICA
AND ST. LUCIA. A HURRICANE WARNING MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS
ARE EXPECTED WITHIN THE WARNING AREA WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
PREPARATIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY SHOULD BE RUSHED TO
COMPLETION.

Here''s the link to the rest of the info http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT4+shtml/161236.shtml

Hang tight, you never know how these things will work out. Atleast it will be an adventure right?
5.gif

I heard about it being upgraded this morning on the radio. In this case, an upgrade is a BAD thing!!! I''m hoping for the best. GO AWAY DEAN!

try to relax...you still have a few weeks and sometimes these storms don''t fully develop---i hope this is the case. sara michelle gellar had a full on hurricane for her wedding in mexico...she said it was still wonderful and made it more memorable...lol

Hurricanes suck. we kept an eye on Flossie this week as DH and I head to Maui tomorrow. It lost steam and just "brushed" by the big island. YAHOO! So you never know what will happen.

sending PS fairy dust your way!

From what I''ve read, it sounds like there are just downed trees in St. Lucia!

I was just about to post this! I''m relieved. Trees I can deal with. And they will have it cleaned up by the time you get there Robbie!
