A friend of a friend told me she uses this Udo''s Oil and her skin is gorgeous at 51!

What is it and does anyone know if it is worth the effort/money? And how much to take?

Hmm. I looked quickly and that is jusdt an EFA blend. I take a great EFA supplement and it really helps the skin. The benefits go on and on. I think you can buy yourself a good supplement from GNC and even add some Evening Primrose if you want..

HI:

Have used Udo''s Choice before and acknowledge it is a good "quality" product but costly--my Mom uses it too; but I actually prefer Omega oils in capsule form. Sorry, I cannot recall the recommended dosage, but one does have to be careful with the combo''s of oils out there, recent (cardiology) research shows that too much of some oils actually can be harmful.. Udo Urasthmus I believe has a PhD (in some sort of molecular science) and researched his oil combo and is published in peer reviewed publications.

cheers--Sharon

What does Evening Primrose do?

I agree canuk..you can't take too much. A one a day supplement is perfect.
Ann, I'm not an expert but evening primrose is just an type of essential fatty acid...it's marketed mostly for skin....I think it's Omega 6....But I take a nice Omega 3 supplement that contains some greats EFAs like some borage, flax and marine (fish) oil helps brain function, depression, cancer prevention, the heart, and most importantly (LOL) the skin....That's what I use- a supplement that has borage, flax and some fish oil (too much fish oil isn't that great b/c fish tend to be high in mercury)

when we age, our skin loses elasticity...and wrinkles come about...the fatty acids help with this ..keeps it nice and plump ... good fats are great for the skin...That, plus some glycolic acid is my approach. I'm thrilled with the results. I feel that there is no need to spend lots of money on designer products that contain tiny amounts of salicylic acid or glycolic acid and designer supplements.
