Umba Garnet from Jeff White 2.87 carats 8.21 mm

Jeff has just completed two stones for me from his Tuscon rough finds. One is the tourmaline I have posted about and the other is an Umba Garnet. I am a little disappointed in the tourmaline, but I love the garnet. It is a chunky cushion, 8.21 mm. Here are the pics from Jeff.

I look forward to receving it soon. Please offer up setting ideas. I really love Acinom's new Spess in the high carat gold. I don't think the band will suit this shape of stone as much, but I would like to do something of that nature. I welcome any ideas!

Tone looks like it is on the dark side so I would do a very open setting.

Thanks for this Acinom! I love it!!! I hope you won't mind if I blatantly copy your beautiful ring. I live in Western Canada, and although am in Europe for business fairly frequently, I am rarely in the Netherlands. The chances of us bumping into each other wearing our matching rings is slight.

I hadn't really posted about the garnet as I wasn't as excited about it as the tourmaline. I wanted a red stone and Jeff had been looking for spinel for me, but just couldn't find any. The garnet was a bit of an impulse purchase, but I do think I'm going to love it.

No worries about copying at all! I feel very flattered.
The ring is very comfortable. I actually do not feel it when I wear it.
Do you ever visit the west coast of the US? David Klass makes the setting for 600 USD in 14K gold.
