Under 1ct diamonds

So the appraisal doesn't list the mm measurements but I have some scopes and things here. It just says its an 0.70 ct I VS2 daussi elongated cushion. Daussi cuts are shallower cuts and appear larger due to that. Tcw is 1.0. Closest I can approximate it's roughly 7.0x4.5 or so. When you put those numbers in the diamond database it says its inadequate, too shallow, which like I said daussi diamond cuts are shallow.‍♀️
Thank you so much! =)2

Shallow but cut beautifully! thank you! definitely with 7mm by 4.5mm, it does not look like a 0.7c! :kiss2:

As an update, here is the ring that was reset with some old diamonds previously used for stud earrings on each side. Center is 0.29.

I love this - it looks perfectly sized on your hand!

This is so gorgeous! Does it have its own thread yet?? Thank you for reminding me that smaller diamonds are also gorgeous.

That face!Screenshot_20210201-163613_Edge.jpg

You like the face? Or no
I debated 4 prong vs 6 prong for 2 months before having it made. I also debated a 6 prong setting with 4 full prongs +2 half prongs just from the halo to top of diamond. They had to bring in a specialist for the fine detail because it was alittle bit under 1 ct

İt is quite interesting.
İ like the hidden halo.

Thanks so much! Not yet, I didn't even think of doing that! Perhaps I will :) It's a cutie and great for every day wear.

You definitely need a SMTB on this. I love looking at the big bling, but the simpler pieces are more accessible and just as lovely. Do you wear this as a RHR?

Thanks! I'll post one up at some point. Yay for the encouragement!

Yes, it's my RHR - and right now my *only* ring. We were shopping for an ER at IDJ and I decided to reset the diamonds in my old solitaire ring and bezel earrings I no longer wear. I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I was inspired by the Tiffany's version of this ring though it didn't turn out quite the same as their version is made with 0.05ct sides and 0.15ct center!

That is so fun and meaningful! I'm thinking about having my original ER diamond set in a pendant. Now I'm going to have to look into the tiffany's version of this ring as I'm not familiar with it. It sounds delicate and lovely. What are your plans for your ER??

That's a great idea! What does your original ER look like? The princess in your picture is so beautiful and classic! I really love solitaire pendants too.

Here's the link to the Tiffany's: https://www.tiffany.com/jewelry/rings/tiffany-three-stone-diamond-ring-GRP11279/

As you can see it turned out quite differently!

On my ER, we tried our best to find a round diamond from IDJ that we would put into a simple solitaire setting (6 prong) but wasn't able to find the right one. I am keenly waiting for a CBI in the New York Classic - in the works now with an ETA of mid February! Though it may be a while yet until I receive it!!!

I love that little Tiffany's ring! What a great inspiration. Remind me which vendor is IDJ? I can't keep them all straight! I've been really impressed with the CBI stones I've seen featured here--they are stunning. How exciting that your new ring will hopefully be here this month! I'll keep an eye out--definitely share it with us!

My original ER was a .69 princess flanked by 2 tiny trillions. Now that I have pricescope eyes (ha!), I can see that the sides are super dark in color (think gray) and barely sparkle at all. The center stone is nice enough, though far from ideal. It's sentimental, though, and I'm not sure there'd be much resale value in it anyway, so I'll probably have it set in a pendant at some point.

I still love princess stones, but since I upgraded to my ACA princess, I'm realizing there just isn't the fire in a princess that there is in a MRB or AVR. So I'm probably going to make the switch eventually, and likely to a 3 stone.

Pandalicious, I love the way your ring looks on your hand! It reminds me also that adding a little extra in the way of side stones can really up the ‘oomph’ factor of a stone!

Spready GIA I VS1 .85ct (6.15mm), which is being set in a bezel pendant. First pic is in a temporary spring-ring holder on my index finger, which is about 6.5-6.75 in size. Second pic is next to my 2.73ct GIA G VS2 (9.03mm) e-ring on size 5.75. Also included a color comparison shot for reference.

Nice! Who are you having set the pendant for you?

Just realized I've never posted my wedding set before! It's under 1ct.

My e-ring has a 0.70ct/E VS2 center diamond. The side stones are F/VS. The wedding band has 2.25mm I/SI melee. But honestly, they all just look "white" and bright to me!

@AnastasiaBeaverhausen - did you end up getting the milgrain? I love this setting!

Ooo total blast from the past there. Yes, I got the milgraining in the end. I had to bring my ring back to the vendor so they could ship it to their bench. But then they had the bench ship it back directly to us. Whole process took I think like, 3-4 extra days? I cringe thinking about how I almost wanted to scrap the whole thing with this vendor bc of a couple of hiccups. Nowadays, if something comes with with a project, I merely shrug and go, "Well mk, thanks for keeping me posted!"

Atta girl. :)) I read that part of your journey and wondered what happened. When one starts collecting jewelry, you don't realize how much there is to learn - but there's a LOT.

I'm glad you didn't scrap and start again - it's a lovely ring!
