Under 1ct diamonds

My wedding ring and band. It was before PS days and I can't remember the stats. I think it's .70 or. 75. I'm size 5. I wasn't into jewellery then (what was I thinking???). So the hubby chose it all by himself and even the wedding band (i only recall it's from tiffany & co.)

My .45 asscher aka square cut emerald, G IF GIA excellent cut. Simple rose gold band with platinum solitaire head. The band is same rose gold, half eternity. This was a piece I had made to remeber my horse I lost after 25 years. She was flawless, the best horse I will ever own so she got a perfect little stone as my momento.

What a unique wedding band! I think it's called Etoile by Tiffany.

@Madam Bijoux - your 91 pointer looks wonderful on your hand! Do you mind sharing what size your finger is? I have a .95ct stone, and I don't get anywhere near the same coverage!

Hello and thanks, Mrs-B! On a good day I can wear a size 6 1/2 on both hands. Most of the time my left hand is a size 7 and my right hand is usually 6 1/2-6 3/4.

@Madam Bijoux - your hand looks so much smaller!

Thank you for getting back to me; this gives me hope for my 7.5 fingers!!

Hi. Just bought it yesterday. 0.25 D VS120170929_082455.jpg for 1.6k sgd .. is the price high? Thanks

It's always a good idea only to ask these things if you don't mind hearing the answer, especially after a purchase. Your ring looks very beautiful. If you love it you should keep it.
But could you find a similarly sized D VS1 online for cheaper, or a bigger D VS1 for the same price? I think yes to both

Thanks for the reply. Im totaly no idea about diamond. And i tought buying online is bad idea and ofcourse being scammed by online seller. The shop where i bought it we compared it to 0.30 and 0.40. The 0.25 will look bigger than 0.30.. And to 0.40 they almost the same. I bought this bcoz of that feature diamond looks bigger. Am i right?? 0.25 D VS1 triple EX as per IIDGR certification from DeBeers.

There are a few online vendors which are very reputable. Many people on these forums (myself included) got their diamond online and couldn't be happier.
It looks like your ring is set in an illusion setting with some metal around the diamond which makes it look bigger.
The difference between 0.25 and 0.3 probably won't be all that great. Between .25 and 0.4 will probably be somewhat more noticeable. A well cut diamond will face up bigger so a smaller carat size may look bigger face up than a poorly cut heavier diamond. Is your total price for the whole ring or just the diamond? What metal is the ring set in? If you were keen to get more people's input you could post a tread on the Rocky Talky forum

Ow maybe my eyes get illusionized by those thats why i looks bigger.. That is the total price for the ring.. Its a 18k white gold..
Maybe i dont want to post it there or later on i will get upset haha

Yes only post if it will change what you do! Actually I've just had a look and D VS1 in that carat range in 18k simple 4 prong solitaire and the prices I can see are just about what you've paid. If you'd be willing to go down to VS2 (still eye clean) and/or E or F colour (still colour less) you could probably pay less or get bigger but if you're set on D VS1 you've done not too bad. Other question is the diamonds certification. If it doesn't have a GIA or AGS certification it could not be a true D VS1 stone. But as I said if none of this will change what you do in the end then stop reading and enjoy your nice ring :)
