Under 1ct diamonds

I keep going smaller. I’ve posted twice before with smaller stones (closer to .5 carats) but sold both of them. I realized that I wanted a really traditional and plain vintage smaller solitaire. And I’m really a yellow gold gal but was okay with white prongs. Enter about .25 old cut solitaire from an Etsy vendor (20s - 40s as estimated the vendor). Lousy pictures from my office but it’s so me. It’s cost me a bit to find myself, jewelry-wise, but I’m glad I finally have. I have a few things to choose from but this one really satisfies something for me in the diamond department. In person, it’s white, bright, and sparkly (looks awful in the pics).

The perfect pair!

Here you go @Begonia! My poor finger is swollen because it’s so hot outside..I couldn’t get my rings off to put Julia on but I crammed it on for you! I also added a few with my skinny eternity band which I think looks cute with it..:P2

Let me know if you ever want to sell MB!

Hello: I haven't spent much time here in a while, but was reading old posts in this thread. Wanted to share my ring set, as this forum/site really helped me years ago to target exactly what I (we) was looking for . The pic is from years ago. Always wanted to share, but felt my ring was pretty modest. Not sure why I never noticed this thread before. I appreciate smaller gems.

This is my Vatche Slim X prong w/a .64 Asscher, and matching pave Slim X prong band.

A little story: It's an altered version of the slim Xprong. Our vendor mistakenly offered us a taper where the ring meets the stone (which is a style I love, so when they kept mentioning it, I finally said "yes!"), but when we got the ring it was just the regular X-prong. Took me a few days to get the courage to tell my then fiance, and lucky for me he said he'd noticed it too. Fortunately, Vatche made good on the vendor's mistake and made us our new ring, and our vendor told me Vatche had made the ring himself. The taper is subtle, but made all the difference for me :kiss2:

Aquarelle, your rings are so beautiful! Glad you shared this with everyone! How special that Vatche made the ring himself!

Oh, thanks Headlight. Glad to be back...it's always fun reading. I got inspired and took hand shots. I'll continue reading older posts in this thread, and probably hang out quite a bit in the vintage jewelry thread.

PS, this is a size 5 platinum and I, VS2.
We looked for a year and a half; designs all over the place. Was surprising to set on something traditional. The platinum and asscher cuts were top of my list, and I was set on a 4-5mm stone size. In all that time searching, I had been planning on a light blue spinel or sapphire and a custom design. I made a sharp turn, but I'm happy.
I love seeing other's more intricate rings here since I didn't go that route but just as well could have.

My rose gold engagement ring and wedding band. EG solitaire is 1/3ct, SI2 G/H. Will be adding an identical band to the other side next summer to mark 10 years married.

Love this! The rose gold is such a modern take on a classic, and I love the way the stones are set on the band... again modern take on the classic band the way the stones are set within the “borders” of the edges rather just just simply prongs. And it’s all at the proportion perfect to add the anniversary band! Thanks for sharing these beauties!

This is a beautifully proportioned set! So pretty.

Here’s my James Allen .50ct ideal cut color I SI1 in 14k white gold cross prong setting engagement ring by husband just upgraded for our 10th anniversary (I lost my original stone lasts year :cry2:) paired with my original wedding band from Kay’s. I don’t know any of the specs on the band but I just loved the leaf detailing on the sides. I’m a size 8 ring.

Here’s a video of the ring :love:https://photos.app.goo.gl/Xw2wjUghYLN6Jygn8

I'm adding to the thread my dear friend's new ring, that she got a few days ago and will be picking up tomorrow, after having left it at the store for resizing. It is a .35 ct, VS1, G, Ex cut round brilliant, in a 4 prong, 18 kt white gold setting. Her finger size is 5.5 . This is the photo that she sent me from the store, when she decided that this is the one that they will be buying. I'm very happy for her! She had never owned a diamond ring and she is finally getting one, after 9 years of marriage. The store where they bought it from, has a great upgrading policy and her husband has already promised that he will upgrade the ring, if she wishes so, in the future. But for the time being, she can't wait to put this baby on her finger! I will post better photos when she finally gets the resized ring:))IMG-20190817-WA0011.jpg

REALLY pretty!

This page helped me choose my
Center stone so I thought I’d share my new baby!!
Both rings are from James Allen
E-Ring is a .65 K VS2 Gia triple X and my finger size is a size 7. Still deciding if the 6 prong fits this stone. Some days I love it others I think it overpowers the stone.

Hi Cosmo,
Thanks for posting the pictures. Beautiful ring! I like the 6 prong head on your diamond. It protects the stone and is not too much (in my opinion, anyhow) Enjoy the sparkles!

Here are some pics of my my current e-ring. (excuse all the dirty pine needles in my pool lol)I had a appraiser look at it under a loop and told me it’s a very good diamond. Only stats I know is it’s .79 carat,F color (on the higher end!) VS1.
After they cleaned her up wow what a difference! I must admit I’m so bad with keeping it sparkly.

I love it when my rings "have a bath" and are super sparkly! I really like your setting on your finger. The diamond looks big to me. It's a lovely ring! Happy Anniversary and good luck with your upgrade!

Please tell your friend that this ring is stunning! It's delicate and gorgeous!!

Gorgeous rings, ladies! I love the look of a smaller stone in an integrated set.

I recently upgraded my center stone from a .47 I2/very good cut to a .63 VS2 triple x and it's been such a difference in sparkle! I chose to not up the size of the diamond too much, since I adore the original setting and didn't want to detract from it. The original bridal set is special to us - it's from my husband's great-grandmother, and picking a stone upwards of a carat felt like it would lose the spirit of the original illusion-style setting. The additional chevron band is what I added at our first anniversary since I liked the shape and finger coverage :)

Gorgeous, classic ring. Enjoy it in good health.

This was a ring my mom gave me a couple of weeks ago, the paper work says the diamond is .25 G or H color and VS1 or VS2 clarity (going on memory I have to get the appraisal from her), the little side diamonds I am not sure how big they are may .05 each? once again not sure..anyway Mom has had the center diamond since sometime in the 1960's and she had this ring made in probably in the late 1990's or early 2000's, the diamond as a pretty good bowtie going but I love it anyway, I need to get it sized Mom's fingers are much, much smaller than mine...I wished I could get better pictures...

Center stone is an oval 0.70ct and has a cluster halo made from marquise and round diamonds

You don’t need a huge center stone to create a big impact

Beautiful!! You are so right - you do not need a large center stone to create a big impact. I love seeing unique rings on PS. The halo with marquis and round diamonds is beautiful!

Adding my CBI to this lovely thread! It’s H/.41ct/vs1, in the Ritani knife edge setting (14k unplated white gold), size 5.5. I’m extremely happy and so pleased to be part of the CBI family!
