Unheated magenta sapphire ring and earrings

I found a pair of vintage earrings with pink CZ’s and I also had a really nice sapphire ring with a slightly too dark blue sapphire in it so I went looking for replacement stones (both were purchase with this intention). I decided that I wanted vivid pink sapphires so I contacted my guy in Sri Lanka and he delivered. These are glowing pinkish purple vivid sapphires. Unheated. The magenta deepens and glows (in a good way) in certain lighting. The color is just amazing. It’s never ever dull or dark. I’m starting to prefer sapphires over spinels now! Maybe these are extra special sapphires. I’m not a sapphire expert so I don’t really know.

The ring is by Suna Bros and the diamonds are really well cut and white and brilliant. It’s 18k.

It’s so hard to capture what the ring really looks like in person and it changes depending on the light. I just kept taking photos and none of them were quite good enough. The diamonds sparkle like crazy and the sapphire also sparkles and glows and turns a rich, vivid magenta like you can see in some of the photos but still it’s so much better in person.

In my humble experience, there comes a point where patience and consistency pay off and you get that one perfect photo which ideally captures the colour and the depth. Granted, that point is often about 1578 photos in, and maybe it requires stubbornness rather than patience, but, you know... you get there eventually.
