Newbie so maybe this question was asked. I noticed the GIA report of a diamond I was watching on BLue nile popped up here and had US Certed as its vendor. It was 10k cheaper through US Certed on about a 100k stone. Would blue nile honor the lower price how are they both vendors

US Certed - Martin Sheffield has a good reputation on PS and has good comments from PS’ers. I think you need to call him rather than text or email.

I’ve nothing against Blue Nile but why buy from them when you know from the outset Martin can get you the same stone for at least $10k less?

Search Martin and US certed on PS and see the comments.

Edit: I have never purchased from either of them!

Thank you. My catch is since I bought a previous diamond from BN at about 50k I can get the return value on that stone when I trade up. I does bother me though the mark up is that much

Well you will not know unless you ask BN. And that’s a significant trade up so I would ask them. I wouldn’t want to lose the trade up either. And yes, the mark up is a lot and seems kinda greedy. Cause Martin isn’t losing money selling the diamond - he has a markup too!

yes you are right thank you much!!

I wouldn’t be too hard on BN, they are providing an upgrade service and presumably have to protect themselves a bit from the possible negative aspects of that?

True. And they’re obviously doing what the market wants, I guess. Just $10k more than Martin’s price seems like a lot of protection.

Blue Nile seem to offer price matching - not sure if it is applicable here, but worth a call!
