I keep coming back to check if you have proposed! :) And to look at this ring again!

Also, whenever you are able to capture hand shots, would you mind sharing the dimensions of your diamond you chose? (the mm width?) and finger size for ring? :D

I'm dubious about posting when in case she's on here reading but it's 'soon' :)

Here's the details on the diamond!

EDIT: Oh and i just found out it's phosphorescent :) I tried to capture it in a picture but my iphone won't capture it properly. It continues to glow a yellow/white after the UV is removed for quite some time (3+ minutes).

Here's a picture of it under UV.

WOW! that's a really cool pic! Congrats- I wish you the best of luck!!! :appl:

Oh wow! You have my mind reeling now looking at diamonds with that effect. I love love love it. Did you source this from Blue Nile or from another store?

And yes, please come back with hand shots/maybe even a story of how it happened if you don't mind! :) So excited for you both (which I hope doesn't sound super weird considering we don't know either of you, but AH! engagements/marriage/weddings are just so wonderful! :D)

Congratulations !! That is an amazing set! She will LOVE it. Back with hand shots please!

I'm back! And she said yes :))))))

I'm in a mad rush but in short, I took her on holiday, hired a private yacht for 10 hours, and proposed at sunset :) I had a photographer and videographer sneaked on board so it's all captured! I'll post some pictures when I get them back.

She absolutely LOVED the ring and was surprised I'd got it 'so right' lol. I showed her the first ring i'd got and told her the whole story about how I just wasn't happy with it, and the whole process of getting to the final ring.

I'll tell you some lessons i've learnt along the way:

- Cut is king! She commented all on her own how it's amazingly sparkly under nearly every lighting condition.

- I'm glad I went with 'I' and bigger ct and better cut. It always looks white to me, I haven't noticed any yellow at all, and neither has she.

- No matter what you plan you're going to say before you propose, your brain stops working and all that comes out is 'I love you so much, will you marry me' lol. (All that planning and i got nervous and rushed the proposal part - she found it cute and said it added to the whole experience)

- Now that I see it on her finger, I'm SOOOOOO happy I didn't compromise, or go with the first ring where I kept second guessing myself. If anything I wish I had gone even bigger and better - but that's more down to seeing how happy she is rather than being practical. Any bigger and it may start to look costume to the untrained eye!

I'll post pics soon :)

You actually did it! You are engaged!!! And what a romantic proposal at sunset on a yacht. Congrats. I hope the two of you will be super happy together. Please come back with lots of handpics. And ask your fiancee to become a PS member as well :wavey:

My first thought when I read about how much you cared to make things perfect with your wonderful proposal was...do you have any single brothers?!
Your and your fiance are both lucky...
All the BEST!

Congrats, it's a really beautiful stone & ring, she must be thrilled, you did a wonderful job!!!!
