i have my dress ordered, i have my shoes.

i have NO CLUE what kind of veil to get. my dress is a ballgown.. with swarovski crystals on it..

super poofy, long train.

ideas for trains? *please?*

lynn, what are you doing? i know our dresses are similar..

I dont have a specific suggestion other than some personal experience advice.

If I remember correctly, your train has the crystals on it as well right? My train had beads and what not on it and when i tried on veils longer than finger-tip, it would get stuck on the beads from the train and either start to pull out of my hair or rip the tulle!

ooh THANK YOU for the advice! :)
i might stick with fingertip then. and something with either some crystals on it or some satin trim??

Actually....mom ordered....me 3 veils....believe it or not....
Blusher....for when I walk into the church....
Long Cathredal Veil
and the a Shorter viel than the cathedral...

If all goes well.... I will walk in to church..fingertip blusher with long cathedral veil in back
Then I will take blusher and cathedral veil off...
second shorter one I will use at reception and for pictures...and take off the cathedral length one..

Did that make sense....

I think one with some beading on the edge or a thin satin trim would be nice. I think if the satin trim is too wide it can distract from the dress.

thanks ladies! :)

my boss is letting us all leave at four today because it''s so pretty outside.. so maybe i''ll go veil shopping here in northern virginia before the traffic gets horrible. :)

i just ordered my birdcage veil from www.veilartistry.com She custom makes them and has some great real veil pics on her website. check it out!

WOW! how pretty!!!!!!

Something to keep in mind is that rhinestones and crystals on a veil look like black dots in pictures.

laurel,

I haven''t seen pics of your dress but it sounds very elaborate and gorgeous! my *personal* feeling on this (w/o having seen the dress) is to perhaps go with a rather simple veil. It might be nice to balance out a very stunning, show stopping dress, with just a simple, perhaps elbow length, 2 tier veil. Probably 54 or perhaps 72 wide, not 108 so it''s not so POOFY. You want your veil to accent your gorgeous dress, IMHO, not to overpower it. Perhaps something that lays somewhat flat, without too much extra decoration (pearls etc) and a simple ribbon edging?

Good luck!
