Okay, now that I have my dress, it''s time to think about a veil. I tried the dress on with a veil at the shop and it looked great, so I think I want to do a veil, but I also want to wear a brooch/comb/flower thingy in my hair. I think I want a single layer veil, but I have no idea about the length. I''m getting married on the beach and there will most likely be some wind to contend with.

I''d love ideas or pictures. Also, have any of you given any thought to making your own veils? I hate the nasty material they''re made out of a lot of times. I thought a nice organza would feel nice on the back and flow well too.

Thoughts?

I'm having my FMIL make my veil. What a rip off in stores! I can't believe how much they want for a single layer piece of tulle on a cheap comb.

I'm trying to decide how to wear mine too...I like the look of when the veil sits lower on your head from the back (like under a bun or comb), but from the front I like it when it poufs above your hair a tiny bit. :)

I love the way a mantilla sits on the head but that is a very unique style.

My other favorite is the style Charlotte on Sex and the City wore for her marriage to Harry. It was Belgian Lace which is much more opaque than tulle and it seems more flowy soft than the average tulle veil. I also love it pinned to the hair so that it lays flat rather than poofy.

I want it to just be in the back, maybe under a bun or something....
