vendors and pricescope / wire discount?

I didn''t want to post this question on Rocky Talky since it really isn''t about stones. I just have a question. Someone on a post in rocky talky said that Whiteflash offers a 5% discount for wire / pricescopers. I just bought earrings and was only offered 3%.
Do you know if it really is 5% or 3%?

I should get the earrings Tuesday - can''t wait!

Well, I think I heard here that it depends on whether it''s an ACA or not. Also, I think their Ready, Set, Go stuff is somehow different as far as upgrading. I think maybe you can''t upgrade Ready, Set, Go items. I should reiterate that this is all stuff I heard on PS, so I''m not sure if any of it is valid. Did you ask them about it?

You are right - it depends on what you go for. ACA gets you 5% off and I think Expert selection gets you 3%. Settings get you approx 2-3% (I think - will need to check).

Did I read on another thread that you are in the UK now? If so do you know you have to pay VAT and Customs duty on your jewellery?

You are correct on the 5% for the ACA and 3% for the ES but settings don''t get you a discount . . .

Did you pay by bankwire? Sometimes there is an additional discount with a bankwire.

Maisie, i have been in the UK for 1.5 years now (i still consider it new). I am American with the US govt, so we can ship things using the US Postal system. It is military mail. Whiteflash is sending the earrings USPS - expedited I think (have tracking number). I won''t have to pay VAT on the set. I do most of my shopping via the internet (since the prices here are double - horrible exchange rate!)

I didn''t buy the ready set go earrings - I picked out the stones and setting. The stones aren''t ACA but I think expert selection. I received a 3% discount on everything , including the settings. That was quoted as a pricescope/bankwire discount on the invoice.

Yeah, but you get to buy diamonds priced in dollars with your pound sterling... Not too bad - should still be a good deal for you!
