Our 3 most important big-ticket items are done (besides my dress, which should be here in 2 months)! YAY!!! Now to find DJ, florist, bridesmaid dresses, ceremony musicians, invitations, save the dates, shoes, undergarments, hair and makeup....the list makes me dizzy.

Our ceremony will be at our university''s botanical gardens. You can''t see it in the picture, but the conservatory is behind the aisle and I''ll make my entrance by walking out its doors and down the steps from where this photo was taken.

Looks beautiful!!

Wow, that looks beautiful!

And well done for getting the big 3 done.

My list still looks horrific - my venue requires a lot of DIY on my part as it''s not really a wedding venue as such, so I have sooooo much still to do!

After the ceremony we can take photos in any of the gardens, like this one with tons of flowers: http://www.lsa.umich.edu/mbg/images/viewer.asp?gallery=GatewayGarden2007

Our ceremony will be at the Campus Inn hotel, which is right near downtown and campus and should make for a really elegant, but fun, reception. The room has pink walls, which should work really well with our color scheme of midnight/cobalt blue and plum/burgundy/the-color-of-purple-callas. I think the lighter pink will really make everything pop.

And I''m SO excited about our photographer, Dionne Haglund, who works under the name The Shooting Gallery. I met her yesterday, and we literally talked for 2 hours sitting in her living room. We probably would have talked longer except that FI called and that snapped us out of it. I really think her presence at the wedding will be like that of a friend rather than a stranger, which is such a good, calming thought to have!

ah, ann arbor- brings back memories! is the ceremony site in the arb someplace?

Looks beautiful!! Congratulations on booking the venue! Doesn''t it feel great?

Wow--what gorgeous venues. Congrats, Ladyciel!

It''s in the botanical gardens, which are off of Dixboro between Geddes and Plymouth. So, not in the arb, but run by the same people.

We''re going to take photos in the law quad, too, since we''ll be so close for the reception.

I''m so happy that you were able to get her for your wedding! My FI and I met with her yesterday and we love her! We are going to book her as soon as we set a date. How exciting!

Yay, Rachie!! We''ll both be one of "her girls"! FI couldn''t come with me for the meeting, but I felt so incredibly comfortable with her that I''m totally confident he''ll love her too. We''re mailing the contract and deposit tomorrow.

We got so lucky, because she was originally booked for our date. I feel a bit guilty, though, because our good fortune was only possible because some poor couple had to change their date.
