Wow! It is beautiful. I love it! I also like the second setting but would probably prefer a plain setting. Something that really allows that diamond to shine. I do like the second setting though.

I'n going to have to go plain. That pave setting I got for my ACA is driving me crazy. Guess I'm just not fancy at heart all the time. I want it BOTH ways. So plain with changeable stackers makes more sense for a changeable person.
I like the second setting too, but maybe just as it is with a CS as a right hand ring for dress up.

All the time! But then I put on my ring and think why would I do that. It's so lovely being able to see the whole stone. I do think that if I keep it for the long run, meaning no upgrades, that I could see myself paying for a hand forged plain beauty or even a really well done BGD solitaire. What about a plain shank Halo? Love those too. But honestly plain or 3 stone that's plain. With stackers to change the look. I keep thinking about DS, how she is waiting for the exact right (antique) setting to come along but I wonder if the current solitaire her AVR is in is right and that's why it's taken a while.

If that ACA setting is annoying I would switch it out for sure. For that beautiful Asscher I would keep it simple too. If you did a halo I would keep the shank plain. Kind of like Gypsys. I think hers is like that? Or just a beautiful double claw prong (super well done) a la SK or VC or ERD and to make sure they make them in a way that emphasizes the cut corners. Maybe have a small split shank?

Your setting looks perfect to me... I considered it a lot - then got swept up on impulse while in a jewelry store and had my stone set right then & there.

I told you great minds think alike : ) .....
I just wrote for a quote request on a plain setting from SK about an hour ago.

Gahhhhh! It's gorgeous! We need to start a show me your K step cut thread! Step cuts rock in K color! And all colors of course but there has been a run on K EC's and asschers for last two years!

The patterning on that diamond is perfect. It would look amazing in a Sholdt semi bezel. Not that I'm biased or anything

My K prevailed! I took my K to show my friend who designs for a jewelry store. Another jeweler came over and ask about the stone. When I told her it was a K she went and got an Asscher she had just hand-picked for a client - a D/FL.
I think I was supposed to be impressed, but I could see that it had problems [thank you, PS]. I told her was very pretty, but had P3 issues and added that I was sure her client would never know the difference. I'm not sure she knew what I was talking about.

So much for me being nice but heck, she was trying to trump my K-love

Jimmi, I hate to tell you but your K Asscher looks clearer in those photos than your RB Maybe it's the lighting?

I'll have to take more photos when I get it back from being set. While my ACA is amazing in person, it is not the most photogenic round I've had, and the Asscherette is highly photogenic.

Steven said 3 or 4 weeks. The diamond was mailed to them a week ago and they still haven't gotten it : (
It was on the mail truck yesterday but didn't make it to SK.
When will I learn to be patient!
The problem is that the waiting makes one want to go shopping for something to tide over

It's a very non-blingy setting, but I think the process will be fun. He said he would send photos when the pieces are ready to assemble, then again when assembled with my stone sitting in the setting. Satisfies the urge to have something diamond related going on.
I don't know what I'm going to do with my life when all my stones are set and I'm just wearing them
