Hi everyone!

This luxurious 3 day weekend has me being all crafty- and most of the craftiness has been wedding focused!

I picked up a couple of jars of vintage buttons at a local antique shop and (after washing them, pee-ew they were stinky!)used wire to create this test-run bouquet. I make jewelry so I had a lot of beads and pearls on hand to make it sparkle a little more. I also used some peacock feathers (the color inspiration for the wedding) to frame the center and hide the wires.

The "stems" are all wrapped in layers of stem tape and then covered with eggplant ribbon in the same color my (hopefully) bolero will be. That would be the next project on the docket...

Opinions? Suggestions? Thanks everyone

Very pretty. I love button bouquets.

It's very pretty. My honest opinion is that the feathers dwarf the bouquet. But that may just be the picture. I'd like to see a pic of someone holding it it get a better idea of size. However, I think it's very pretty and really unique!

hoofbeats: thanks for the feedback! Yes, the bouquet is on the small side which makes the feathers look large. It came out more ice-cream scoop shaped than normal bouquet shape, so the feathers almost even it out when you are holding it. And you can''t see the eyes of the feathers when it is upright, so it''s less distracting. But I agree, they look big next to the size of the bouquet.

I don''t know if this will become a bridesmaid bouquet or if I''ll try to re-shape it a little.

Just a finger-mangling test-run :)

I''m glad you said it first, about being shaped like a dome. If it were me, I would want the buttons to be at more than one height, randomly. But I prefer loose bouquets to perfectly shaped and tightly packed bouquets. I absolutely love the creativity and the colors! I think no matter what you do, this bouquet will be fabulous, unique, and eye catching!

I love the idea! It looks like you''re pretty crafty. Seeing it in your hands will give a better perspective but I think you''re going in the right direction!

I can''t wait to see how your wedding turns out. It will certainly be gorgeous and unique.
