I am thinking for christmas I would like to get BF a great watch. So I was thinking where do you all get yours??

I would like to start looking for some great antique watches for myself too...

So anyone have any ideas??

Thanks!

Hi There,

I''m not a good source for antique items at all. But I have bought an Omega Seamaster, Tag Link, Raymond Weil Tango (for dressier occasions) & most recently a Breitling Colt for my husband. He doesnt know about the Breitling, but he will at Christmas.

He loves watches, & now I''ve completed his "wardrobe" of a silver, black, blue & fancy watch. I got him a watch valet from Bombay company & I swear he sits on the bed weekly changing around the order of them. At least I know he appreciates them.

You can try Toppersjewelers.com....they are a great resource for watches, and are authorized dealers to a lot of brands.
They won''t give out pricing via email, so you might as well call & ask for Rob Caplan (son of Bill, owner).

I got the Breitling from Lewis Jewelers in Ann Arbor, MI. They are authorized dealers for quite a few brands. My contact there was DK. Just tell him Judy from Toronto mentioned him. LOL And that I bought a Breitling Colt, blue quartz. His pricing was very competative with grey market sources, yet he''s an authorized dealer. Getting another 5-10% off a watch works for me, and to have it shipped out of state is also advantagious. Shipping was $25. Oh, email is lewisjewelers.com.

Do you know yet what kind of watch you want to buy your BF? Timezone.com might help you with that decision. My brother was wavering as to what watch he wanted for his engagement watch (he loved that I had bought my husband one when we got engaged, & my husband **always** refers to it as his engagement watch. LOL Well..David chose the Omega Seamaster black bezel, quartz style, 300M. They arent avid watch men & so are happy enough with quartz. Well...now my brothers friends all want a Seamaster. LOL It is a very popular style, & I believe 2008 will be the 50th anniversary for this style. Pretty nice to see it has transended time. It really is a classic watch.

You could also try grey market sources. These are the sites that can offer huge discounts, but if there is something wrong with the watch, you have to send it to them for repairs. Plus I think they dont give you the warrenty card. I would try to find an authorized dealer that can offer competative pricing that way you have confidence that you bought an authentic timepeice. Lewis Jewelers had the best price out of all the Breitling dealers.

Good luck with your decision. :-)

Shoot, you didnt mention budget & I told you about some high end watches. I know that Swiss Army has some watches around the $500 mark that are really nice styles. And most recently I had the chance to check out Longines HydroConquest in blue & black (both diver style). The sports collection is new for Longines & are really really nice watches. Will probably run about $800. The others I mention are around $1300 to $1600 range.

Hope I havent confused you at all. Timezone.com will do a better job than I could at that. LOL

thanks I will look into them. He is in the Baltimore/DC area so I might look around there a little to see what they have. I have always like Breitling and Rolex..

Unfortunately I never took back the Movado I bought for my ex...should have!!

I will look at the links you gave....

THANKS!!

I am in the Baltimore area and my husband loves Breitlings. We buy them at Radcliffe''s in Towson Town Center. They also have a location in Pikesville. J. Brown Jewelers in Pikesville also has a nice selection. Happy shopping!

thanks for the info...I will look them up and see what they have!
Thanks for the help!
