Wow what an adventure it's been getting shoes! After being inspired by Bee I went on the hunt for Manolo Sedaraby's.
Pair 1: I found at Barney's NY, white satin in 7 1/2. I'd never seen white satin and couldn't find a picture of them. I was charged full price with CA tax and $12 shipping (ground shipping was supposed to be free per the sales person, oh well). They took well over a week to get here.
Pair 2: Silver Sedaraby from Saks Fifth Ave, Costa mesa, CA. Took two days to get here, same tax shipping charges as above. Size 7 1/2. After some panic on here about TTS vs half size smaller (I'm an 8). I made sure to order another size.
Pair 3: Silver Sedaraby from Barneys Beverly Hills. Shows up same day as Pair 1. Size 8. Ordered this one to cover myself. Again CA sales tax and $12 shipping.

Pair 1: With the satin, way too tight.
Pair 2: Silver, could potential work but tight around the upper foot and toes. Slight toe overhang.
Pair 3: Fits great, may be a tad loose later but love the fit. You can always use foot petals too. I'm not sure how much leather stretches in these shoes but I loved them.

Now for the nitpicky bridezilla moment. Pair 3, one shoe as a display shoe, ie ugly sticker on bottom. I try to peel it off and i'm left with a gluey mess. As I try to rub it off it gets black and blacker. Also each rhinestone buckle is held on by two clear wires. The non-display shoe thread had broken. It was sort of haning on by one thread. Barney's offers to send them out to be fixed. I'm not happy though. On the way up to SF to return some of the shoes I decide to call Bergdorf Goodman in NY. Guess what? They had plenty of silver sedarabys in various sizes!! They also have the 70mm shorter heel as well as the regular 90mm heel. All that work and they easily had them. Also since they are only in NY, NO tax! That's about a $55 savings right there. The sales person was wonderful too. I can't wait to get these. He even checked them over for me to make sure they were perfect.

So if anyone is still looking for these shoes call them up! I maybe should have gotten the shorter ones due to the FI's height but 3 1/2 inch heels are just hotter looking.

I'll post an update once I get pair 4!

Anyways I thought some of you might like to see what the white satin pair looks like. They're very pretty and wedding-y but if I took one step in the grass in these I have a feeling i'd ruin them right away. So no white satin for me. These were the last pair anywhere btw. If anyone in the area wants them call Barneys SF asa. or Saks SF for the silver 7 1/2.

Wow, Violet, here I am looking at $50 shoes and you''re out buying 4 pairs of Manolos! They are absolutely beautiful. I agree with you about the white satin...I''d be petrified of ruining them. My friend wore a pair of Manolos for her wedding, and she definitely ruined them, because a lot of the pictures were on the grass. So you''re definitely doing silver?

Were you disappointed that some were a little uncomfortable around the toes?

Well four pairs on a credit card! Three of which I''ve already returned, so that alleviates the pain on this months bill. The white satin looked too delicate on the shoe and I can''t see ever wearing white satin shoes again. I''m definitely doing silver. It leather, not satin and can easily be re-worn again with lots of outfits. I think my bridesmaids will probably do silver shoes now too.

I was suprised that every sales person and many forums said they run large and that I should order a half size down. They were true to size though and fit TTS for other ladies on here as well. The 8''s feel perfect comfotable around the top of my foot and toes. I have rather wide feet and they felt great walking around my apartment in them.

and they felt great walking around my apartment in them.

I bet you did! haha

I'm sorry about my question regarding the size. I didn't catch from your first post that the first 2 pairs were 7 1/2.

ETA: I wish I could do silver! I just think with my dress it's better to stick to very subdued colors...I thought gold would look good, but it didn't.

I''m still trying to get my head around the idea of how much I spent on the shoes. I mean we''re over budget as it is. I figure it''s that one special day of my life, it''s a real treat for me and the fact I can wear them for 9 hours and not kill my feet is a HUGE plus. My FI (as I''ve mentioned before) finally stopped getting upset about them. Now he''s just curious to see what shoes that cost that much look like! I took my ''man of honor'' with me to return 3 pairs to Barneys and Saks... we were surrounded by designer shoes, Louboutins, Jimmy Choos etc. Thousand dollar shoes... he couldn''t believe people pay over a 1k for shoes. Heck I can''t get over it either. I''m hard on my shoes too!

Violet - My fiancee and I are kind of feeling that way about his suit...it''s a Hugo Boss, and with the taxes, etc., it came out to $900+. It''s still hanging in the closet waiting for the FINAL "we''re keeping it" which would mean having it tailored. So I understand how you feel...but I think you should just enjoy them. They are absolutely beautiful, and like you said, you''ll get to wear them more than once. Everyone should own a pair of those (at least!) once in their life.

Your FI should feel great about the suit btw. I went on two shopping trips with guys buying expensive suits (one was a hugo boss too). Every guy should have a nice suit. Change up the shirt and tie and it''s a whole new outfit for them. My FI got an armani suit last year, he wore it to three weddings already!

Glad that you found them in your size and for a better price! I love the white ones also but I decided to go for the silver as I can wear them again afterwards. Is it bad that after being with D for nearly 9 years he actively encourages me to get Manolos!! He''s over the sticker shock now as I spend so much on shoes!

Hehe, you''ve had plenty of time to get him used to it. My FI is pretty much telling me that I''m not going to be able to buy pricey shoes after the wedding. We have so much stuff to pay for that we need to focus on. If I wasn''t so hard on shoes I''d buy a lot more pricey ones!

This will probably be my only pair of Manolos ever.

Silver is the way to go, thanks Bee for the advice!

Wow I would love to have a pair of those. They are beautiful.

Wow! Those white satin''s are beautiful. But I would be afraid to take a step in them. Glad you actually found the silvers in your size and at a better price!

For those ladies with these shoes, I have a HUGE question...

I bought the 6 1/2, and after reading your description Violet, I''m thinking maybe I should get the 7s (IF I can find them anywhere). How do the "right one''s" fit? I feel like mine fit, but are just slightly too tight (in the toe area). Should I get the bigger size and be more comfy? Or should I wear these around and hope they stretch out a touch.

Mine don''t feel tight at the front-I mean they''re tight in that they won''t fall off me but I can''t feel any soreness. I went on how it felt at the back and so long as my foot wasn''t falling out of them, it was ok.

Mine are a little narrower in the toe area than what I am used to wearing. But I definetly would not go bigger. They just need a little breaking in.

The 7 1/2s were tight in the front area. My toes seemed to hang over a tad if I leaned into them. I didn''t feel like the satin had much give in them either. They felt like they had the potentail to be sore. The 8s fit like bee''s shoes fit. Tight enough not to fall out but no potential for soreness. Just comfy from the get go. If you can try on a 7 as well I would for comparison.

So, do we get to see the new silver ones you settled on??? (Or did I miss that picture, too???)

That first pair is to die for! I can''t wait to see what you ended up with!

Sigh I love your shoes! I wish I could wear heels to the wedding...

The silver ones are on their way here from Bergdrof Goodman. I returned the Barney''s shoes since they weren''t in perfect condition. I''ll post pictures as soon as I have them!
