today is that day, after months of planning, nothing really made this feel as final as this day, FI is going to pick out his wedding band!

after all the craziness i went through for my e-ring (three different settings) and band, now FI is shopping for his and suddenly it just dawned on me, ''oh gosh, i''m getting married!

I think I''ve had a couple of moments.

The first was when we went for our notice of marriage interview. The second was also when FI brought his wedding ring home.

I guess part of me was waiting for him to freak out and back out of the wedding. There are still 22 days to go so I don''t want to jinx anything!!! haha

Yes i had several.
But i think my first "big one" or first freak out was when my dress came in and i went to try it on again for the first time.
i was fine in the car of the way to the shop - once i got there, i could barely say my name. LOL

Well we have been together for 7.5 years and engaged for almost 5.5 of those. It took him 5 years to feel ready to set the date. I guess I just worry that he will freak out before August 26th. Although, if he does, the whole family (both sides) will lynch him for sure! HASHAHAHA

when we filled out our part of the marriage certificate at the courthouse - the part where I had to raise my right hand and swear that all the things we wrote on it were the truth. thats when it REALLY hit me!

When I picked up my wedding ring and wore it home. I remember glancing down at my hand on the steering wheel and feeling a bit shocked by what an impact it had on me.

yay ff! i love that feeling.

i think it sort of hit me when we went to our pre-cana. they made us do an "engagement ceremony" where we recited some vows, and i started getting a little choked up because we were looking at each other, holding hands, face to face, and having to commit at that time. it was very emotional, even though i didn''t think it would be.

and like i posted before- picking out music was another "whoa, i''m about to be married" moment.

Actually, it was this past Friday, which was the year mark. Now, with everything I do, I know that next year I will be married at this very moment. Being less than a year away (albeit by a few days) makes it so much more real.

My little moments (I haven''t had a BIG moment yet - but I''m still almost 11 months off) seem to happen really randomly at work. I will be sitting there and get a text/email from someone about a wedding detail and sometimes it hits me hard! The other day, for eg, my OOT sister sent a text saying "flights are now up for your wedding week....we''re already pricing flights!" and I was thinking, "OMG...people are flying in for this...OMG...."

I am still waiting for that HUGE moment though!

I''ve had two moments so far....

putting the DP on the cake, and then the first day of pre-marital counseling about 3 weeks ago.

It''s really crazy.

My dad is getting all emotional lately.

lol. He''s like, "At least you aren''t moving far away, I think it will be easier that way". I''m like aww.

(<---that''s the tick I''ve acquired from wedding planning)

Well, we had been planing for almost a year before FI finally finished my ring. The day FI "proposed" and presented me with my ring I was skyping with my father, telling him about the proposal and ring. It hit me so hard I could barely breathe. For the first time in the entire year I had been planning my wedding, I truly felt like a bride to be.

Since then, weird moments have set off my emotions - I anticipate that I will be emotional this weekend at my fitting. It will be the first time since December I have seen my dress and put it on. I will be surprised if I am able to keep it together.

I had that moment yesterday when someone asked me when I'm getting married and I responded, "September 19th. Oh wait! That's next month!"

ETA: ficklefaye, I love your new avatar! LOL!

as of right now, the day we booked the church and and i was showing it to my parents and went up and stood in the front

i''m sure when we get our bands that will do it too

At my shower last weekend. As I was listening to my sister give a toast I was shaking! Last week also marked the official double-digit countrdown. 95 more days, ahhhhh!!!

thank you, diva! it was the necklace i was planning on wearing on my wedding day, but i decided against it because i didn''t want to deal with the constant shifting of the brooch

wow, i''m getting emotional just reading everyone else''s stories

I remember standing in front of the mailbox at the post office holding my invitations. For some reason that moment seemed to be "it" for me. Once I dropped them in, there was no going back. I let go of them and it felt wonderful. I smiled, let out some high-pitched noise and sort of jumped up and down for a second. Such a great feeling!

Ah of course, how could I have forgotten this moment? I was in town with my mother when I posted mine. It felt very good. I think I had to pause for breath before I pushed them into the box, then erupted into a huge grin after!!

YES!

every week I get this "OMG. i''m getting married for real!" moment that always puts the smile on my face and makes me feel all giggly inside. haha

am i weir?!?

I think it was when I went for my hair and make up trial about a week ago...(5 weeks before the wedding) and I saw my self all done up...scary!

It hit me a number of times, but it didn''t truly resonate until I was about to walk down the aisle. That was a very poignant moment.

We are date twins and I had the same moment making my trial hair appointment! The whole "next month" thing set me back a bit.

Not a planning moment but I was at the movies and saw a preview for a movie that is coming out the weekend of my wedding. It totally hit me how close to the wedding it actually is

Ditto. Also it seems crazy that we''re only four months away. It''s no longer some magical, mythical date in the far, far future. It is SOON.

The first time I tried on a wedding dress I was like "Wow.. this is it."

We still have 15 months to go though so I am sure I have many moments to come

I thought that I would have had the moment when I dropped the invites in the mailbox. I was even standing at the post office looking for the moment. It didn''t happen.

We''ve told friends and family...and it didn''t happen.

It just happened. I''m bored at the office, thought I could pass the time seeing if I could find anything else that we could possibly need at Crate&Barrel for the registry and found out that someone bought us something. HOLY MOLY!!! (And now I''ve tried to frantically search for how to find out who it was--and resigned myself to just figuring that I''ll have to wait until it comes in the mail--DW wedding, they''d better not be bringing it to Fiji) (And for those of you who are wondering it is the Newlyweds Cookbook and a cookbook stand---I love being in the kitchen, and FI loves eating)

If you could see me now...I''ve got tears in my eyes, a HUGE smile on my face and I feel like an idiot, staring at the computer screen with this smile on.
