If you live in the Washington, D.C. area (and if you are reading Pricecope there is a good chance you do) you still have a chance to see the most breathtaking, "Amahl and the Night Visitors" I have ever experienced! The performance has been put on by the Bel Cantanti Opera since December 10 of this year and will continue into January, 2006. (It is also put on yearly, so if you cannot see it this year you can make a note to yourself to look for it next year!)
These performances remain:
Sunday, December 18, 3.00pm, New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, 1313 New York Avenue, Washington, DC, phone: (202)-393-3700
Friday, December 23, 7.30pm, Lyceum, 201 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, Virginia , phone: (703)-838-4994
Friday, January 6, 7.30pm, Christ Lutheran Church, 8011 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, phone: (301)-718-7360
Saturday, January 7, 3.00, Christ Lutheran Church, 8011 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, phone: (301)-718-7360
Tickets are available OnLine (through the PayPal Service) or at the door: $20. Children under 12: $10.
The voices were spectacular, as was the spirit. I couldn't stop crying and embarrassed my daughter in front of her friend . I may go again. I mean again THIS year!
