Yay! After four bakeries we finally found our cake!
This morning my fiance, his mom and I went to Ettore''s here in Sacramento and can I just say OMG! The cake was amazing. We were all so impressed. So we ordered it! It was a little bit more expensive than I wanted but definitely worth it.
Our cake will be a three tier and we''ll have a sheet cake to serve as well to save some money.
Top tier will be Kahlua (more like a chocolate cake with kahlua mixed into the filling), middle tier will be Strawberry White Chocolate Mousse (my personal favorite) and the bottom tier we will cut into will be their Princess Torte ("A lovely and light Tahitian vanilla sponge cake filled with three thin layers of raspberry preserves and a creamy white mousse"). The sheet cake will serve the most people and it will be their Fruit Basket cake which is layers of Tahitian vanilla sponge cake filled with strawberries and pineapple with white mousse. It''s really light and since it''s a summer wedding we figure the fruit will appeal to more people.
We weren''t originally going to have four flavors but all of the cake was so amazing we couldn''t choose!
And here''s the design we chose! We can alter it if we want up to 30 days before the wedding, but I''m pretty sure this is what we''re going to go with. However we''re going to use fresh flowers in my wedding colors rather than the yellow sugar flowers shown.
Yay! One more thing crossed off the list!
