I received my wedding band that was supposed to match my E-ring, turns out it doesn''t really match at all. The ring was too thin and made my E-ring look gaudy (it actually looks better in the pictures then in real life). I sent back the ring and am now starting all over. I am just not sure if I should find something matching or something so different it wouldn''t be confused as trying to match. What do you ladies think? I will attach pictures of the ring I sent back.

I have to say that I do like the way it looks, but as you said you are not happy and that it looks different in person. Do you mind telling me where you got the wedding band? I am looking for something similar...

Where is your ering from? Sometimes places have matching bands, or maybe you could go custom? Maybe a plain band would look best for now until you do find something perfect.

I had the same problem. Our wedding bands came in...my fiance loved his...mine was supposed to match my e-ring, which it did, however there was no curve to the band what so ever. my prongs sit outside the band and set the diamond up high(only way I can explain it) which left a huge gap between the wedding band and e-ring... that I didnt like at all.. We''ve decided that everything our jeweler has is too expensive and have just started looking everywhere for something that fits. I found something that I think I am 100% happy with and will probably get.

I''m not sure how much time you have to look...but just stop into jewelers when you see one and try different bands on. I''ve got a three sided micro pave band...its hard to find anything to match it...and I''ve found a lot that are very close.

You can always go with a plain band...you should have no trouble finding one the same width..they are classic and timeless...I wish one went with my band, this process would be much easier!

My only advice is that you should try on as many different styles of wedding bands as possible. Then you'll have a better idea of whether you really prefer matching or non-matching bands. Originally I wanted a custom made matching band to go with my e-ring. After trying on about 50 bands at various stores, I realized I far prefer non-matching.

There are a few threads on PS with pics of non-matchy sets:

ianna: graet advice! yes try on tons of styles. i also love the non-matchy look. my rings will not sit flush because i don''t want that! i have a 3 stone emerald/trapezoid with a halo. i found a pic of a ring that looks just like mine and i added a bezel band like the one i want. sorry, bad paint job but you get the idea!

I like it, but my critique is that it is not the same height as your ering. What about a 3 sided pave band? Have you looked at that?

Ditto - If it were the same width/height I think it would look even better

oh those were my thoughts as well. i think it works, but the height difference would bug me

If you want something to match, I would suggest getting something that matches exactly. I actually prefer the non-matching route and love when rings "go together" but don''t necessarily match. Your ring is a very classic style and I''m sure you could find many wbands that would compliment it nicely. I would just go to a nice jewelry store and start trying things on.

Thanks for all of your replies. I agree the width and height was all that was keeping it from being a perfect match. I was quite sad to have to take it back. I have been trying on wedding bands and am not sure which route I want to go. I really appreciate all of your suggestions and now may even consider a nice plain band. I will have to come back and update you all once I make a decision. Thanks again!
